  1. My post is late but I have been active even though my challenge post has not been. It has been quite a busy time for me as of late.
  2. I love a new challenge. After the last challenge, I never honestly took any form of a "break", I have a massive desire and drive to reach my goals and I do feel that I push myself to new limits every day - even passed them. To continue my training towards self mastery I have decided to take on multiple challenges to hone my skills and develop this body that I have been gifted. [+1 Wisdom,Charisma]Survivor's Mentality: This challenge I will be practicing Intermittent Fasting. While I've been doing this I have become "disconnected" from food. I find myself only eating what I need when I need it, instead of just eating to eat or overeating. [+1 Strength,Endurance]Armor Training: My last challenge was called "Armor building," but just because it is over doesn't mean I can't train with the same mentality. I will be training with a weighted vest three times a week. Consisting of a 5 minute interval circuit, 7 exercises with repition, and 3 exercies to failure. Added to this is, "A Shot of Adrenaline's" three month bodyweight strength training program, also done 3 times a week. [+2 Strength, +1Dexterity,+2 Stamina,+1 Constitution.] Assassin's Guile: I have taken the task of completing Athean X Xero. A bodyweight only training system sure to challenge what I have learned of myself. The goal is to combine this challenge with Armor training, and the "X-tinction" training for 6 weeks without fail. Skill work: A true Assassin works wonders with the skills they specialize in, but in order to attain them, they must practice. In my next chapter to my quest of self mastery I will be practicing the following skills: L Seat, V Seat, HandStand, Pistol Squat, Free Running, Planche, and kip ups. I will be attempting to train in these skills as much as possible, I find that doing yoga at least once a week will combine most of them. Magician's training: I've loved the use of magi ever since I was a child. Misdirection and fooling someone to see what you want them to is a useful tool in any case, but the real thrill is pulling it off so well, no one knew what just happened. On my rest days I will be spending some of my time practicing magic tricks and sleight of hand. Hero challenge: Normally I will do a max of two hero challenges, but this time I will be doing one at the end of each week. I will post each of my challenges for that soon. Of course with all of this demanding training, I will need as much rest for my body as possible. Good luck to all.
  3. I was planning on practicing handstands anyway. Good to know I have progression help now too!
  4. I had to make mine into a full topic because of everything I went through, I felt it would be an injustice to myself to just write out what happened in a comment and say "A+" and move on. But this was a great challenge and I am excited to start the next one tomorrow!
  5. The way I felt and the change I made to myself reminded me of the way a Phoenix will rise up from its own ashes. My last challenge is called "Armor Building" for the reason that I wanted to test what I was truly made of, and I found it, broke past it, and made it even better. Throughout my last challenge I took on a program known as "Shortcut to shred." I hate using weight and would much rather use challenging bodyweight exercises as I find them more entertaining and challenging to do. However, I attempted this program once before and stopped short of the end; I took this on because I wanted to finish it - had to finish it. Week 1: Nice and easy, no problems, intense workouts, and battling mentality of both staying on my diet and pushing through tough workouts. Week 2: Illness catches me and I am too weak to barely make it up and down 8 steps, I battled through it on the days where I felt enough strength and completed workouts. The days I missed I decided I would make them up by training twice a day. Week 3: Although I am better and my strength has returned, my body is accustomed to the two-a-day training and I strive for more. This is where I noticed the change. I finished off the week just in time to clear up that Saturday for my first Hero challenge. I awoke on the day of my challenge after only 3 hours of sleep, pushed through while every fiber of my being was telling me to stop, endured heat, pain and exhaustion to complete what I deemed necessary to my own development. Mile run: I contemplate what is to come, focused on the goal at hand. 100 dive bombers: Arms sharpened. 100 Squats: Battling through weary legs. 100 Bodyweight Man Makers: Mind and body tested. 100 Body swing: Core hardened. 100 Rolling Jumps: Strengthening my movements. Mile run: My armor forged.. Time to truly test it. Wisdom:+1 Charisma:+1 Stamina:+2 Strength:+1 Constitution:+1 Week 4: I decide 6 weeks is too long to wait to complete the shortcut. I fight through 2 day trainings by training in an fasted state in the morning and after my last meal in the evening. Week 5: Shortcut completed and now I need more to see out the last of my challenge. I seek-out and find more from "A Shot Of Adrenaline" while creating my own challenging plots to push myself and forge my armor. Week 6: My final challenge loomed, I have to admit I was almost frightened. The thought of going through my first crossfit was daunting in itself, but to do it in a 20 pound weight vest? I started to question how far I could go. I woke before the sun rose, threw on my armor of choice for this challenge, and stepped forward to face one of my hardest obstacles yet. As I ran, I could feel myself getting stronger with every step, pushing my weakness aside with surges of adrenaline shooting through me. 100 Pull ups: I hear doubt creeping in saying I can't, saying that I'm weak, I couldn't possibly do something this hard.. I calmly brush aside this with the 100th pull up. 200 Push ups: Easy enough, I have done 100 before so what's 100 more? Of course, doing them was a different story. My arms, the tools I command, strong and steady, now shake through the 200th push up. 300 Squats: Instruments of my movement and guile hold steady through the 300th squat. Mile run: Rain.. Pouring down on the elements around me, my doubt returns. "Maybe when it stops" "I can do it later" "I've already done more than I could have 6 weeks ago."... "I haven't done enough, I'm not finished." I run out into the cold with raindrops pounding off of my skin, battling myself to keep going, striving for the end, the finish, the close to a chapter. As I finish I couldn't help but throw my arms in in victory over another completed challenge. Reality set in fast as I knew this was only the beginning. My inner armor, my heart and soul, strengthened beyond measure, my exterior armor forged and ready for more. Strength:+2 Consititution:+2 Dexterity:+2 My side goals were to read everyday(+1 in Wisdom), try something new each week(+1 in Charisma), and learn a bodyweight/parkour skill(+1 in Dexterity). Until the next challenge.
  6. Jumping pistol squats, eh? Sounds like a killer.... I like it!
  7. I have had a history of Patella Femoral Syndrome which is just lesser developed muscles in one leg than the other, easily fixed with strength training. This six week challenge is helping tremendously with that.
  8. Thanks! Will definitely update more often than my last challenge and be more active in the community. I was wondering when I'd see one of these on my post..
  9. I haven't seen the movie but I do know his story and what happened on the day. I do want to see the movie though, it looks very good.
  10. Edited because I felt that what I wrote out for my first challenge was unneeded, wordy, and wouldn't challenge me to better myself if it was similar to my last. I am happier with the change. Besides, I felt it needed a little bit of a touch up to add to the... environment.
  11. Went through week one and plan to keep going through it. Good work putting this together, great progressions so far for the pistol squat. Can't wait for the rest.
  12. Thank you for telling me this. I'll have to revise my goals a bit for the next challenge especially since some of the are the same as my last, and I didn't do much planning. As far as the challenge goes I am going to switch the order of the challenges and do Murph at the end when I can do it on Memorial day. Plus, Murph was a real life hero anyway; May actually try it with a vest. Also thanks for clarifying the WOD, helps a lot.
  13. I am going to be realistic with them based on how I feel towards the end. Especially during my last challenge if I do better o worse than the first time I ran through it. I know reading more will put some into wisdom. A great question that made me think, thank you.
