  3. Hey Elem Just wanted to come by and say hi and good luck with your challenge :-) May I ask what the 7 week stretching/strength course you're doing is?
  4. @ElemHH - Thanks. I read your post pretty soon after you posted it and it's taken me this long to work up a response. I hadn't heard the song before, so thanks for posting it. It was good :-) @WoodNymph - For me this is pretty slack/flexible. Tracking will be easy, as my exercise can pretty much be anything for any length that should at least get me up and moving. The lunch thing is probably the hardest but I'm going to make some vegetable chilli this weekend and freeze it for lunches. I'm going to edit my original post with my life goal (get all assignments for module 2 complete) and anything else I've missed.
  5. The Lump knew she had a long way to go if she ever wanted to be a supermegafoxykickass Halfling Ranger Superhero instead of a slothly Hobbit non-adventurer (non-adventurer, because adventure takes effort and that's much too difficult for The Lump.) To get to the top of the mountain The Lump must make her way to the first checkpoint: FitBit Alley where she will find her first reward, a FitBit Surge! The Road to Get There: 1. Track all food intake (and potential food intake) INT 2. No buying lunch - exceptions being my Nan's birthday, if I'm out with friends and when work makes me go to Kalgoorlie. When in Kal I will only buy salads/Subway sandwiches or an actual meal (so, no junk food). CON 3. Exercise three times a week. It can only be a five minute session, but I must exercise. Does not include doing squats after using the bathroom at work. STR And the Life Goal... 1. Complete all my Module 2 assignments for my Diploma in Building & Construction (Management) course. INT Potential Pitfalls: 1. Well meaning boyfriend who keeps buying me food. Tell him to stop. 2. Parents who are supportive, but in words only. 3. Depression/anxiety/stress.... just keep swimming, just keep swimming.
  6. Week Two went much the same as Week One I'm afraid. Truth be told... I don't have the energy or the motivation much anymore. I am really rather depressed about other shit going on in my life which of course isn't helping. Majorly looking forward to my sister moving out. I love her, but... we are better socially apart.
  7. Woo, I already have done 1+3 at the beginning! @erosan - Ha, I'm more social here too
  8. If you're struggling with drinking ALL THE WATER, maybe try a healthy homemade smoothie? Then it could double as a "dessert" as well. I've had a few recently that have tasted and lasted for as long as a dessert so I thought maybe it would help you, if required. I'm planning to try this one: http://www.theironyou.com/2013/12/warm-apple-pie-smoothie.html Also, I am going back to D&D (well, Pathfinder) after a year of not playing
  9. Thanks for this Antro, I did go back and add motivation. Now I just need to continue on with it. I think more planning to eat Paleo is needed, but I also need to find a way of tracking that I like and that holds me accountable. That gif is adorable, thanks! How week one went: Well, I started strong with Paleo, then slipped as the week went on. I need to find a variety of recipes and foods that are easy to assemble into deliciousness and start doing it. I did make chilli today, so that should help, but I need more foods. Also I need something to do with these eggplants. With strength training, I was going alright but just couldn't get myself outside to lift. Then when I wanted to, I was too sore to do so. If I can do three times in one week, I'll still count it though. SCA training. I went! Look at my beautiful picture of truth (hit my arm with my bowstring): (let me know if it can't be seen) 10pm bed time. Essentially I'm just lying in bed watching shows until I fall asleep and then I don't get out of bed until later. This is also affecting my social life slightly. But I'll keep going. Need to start turning the laptop off more.
  10. Thanks Secra I'm not sure what type of yoga this class is it's just touted as a "beginner's yoga" class. I got into archery through the medieval group I'm a part of - Society of Creative Anachronism. Notes for me: Down two non-paleo meals. Nacho's with friends last night and tuna bake tonight with family. I'm feeling rather down about things in my life (redundancy + missing a partner) so it's hard to motivate myself.
  11. Hey Antro It's my 25th birthday this year too! 21km is a long bar indeed o.o I don't know if I could do it. Where do you do your running? Outside or on a treadmill? I also say sign up for the 10km run. It's a closer goal than the 21km and it supports it, so there shouldn't be any harm.
  12. Hey pjc I went to my yoga class last night. It was different to what I expected (I think I had pilates type thoughts in my head) but as there's a lot of focus on breathing I'm going to stay with it because I definitely need help with my breathing (I tend to take quite shallow breaths). How is the challenge going for you?
  13. Hey Mrs R! How are you finding the food going? Do you get hungry or are the meals alright? What's a buff smoothie? Good luck with the container sorting
  14. Not bad, Alice, not bad! Yeah, I need to get on top of my cleaning as well. Especially as I'm meant to be going out later today. I'm interested to hear about how the fasting is going at the end of week 6 - My sister also does the 5:2 diet but ends up doing things like sleeping through meal times during the day so she's not awake to be hungry. And she thinks I'm a weirdo for doing paleo
  15. So I went back and checked over my goals and yes, they are smart. Some people may say that To Be Awesome is unachievable. But I'll prove them wrong! Woo, +1 WIS to me!
  16. I went to both islands, but not too far south on the South Island. We flew into Christchurch, spent a day or so (mostly shopping for fabric) and then we drove to Mt Cook to stay the night and see the glacier before heading back into Christchurch to catch a bus further out into the Canterbury region to go to a medieval event. Yes, I'm from Perth where the heatwave is currently killing me. I've been seriously contemplating moving to New Zealand. You're like a nicer version of Australia to me. Except your flies are huge, because the spiders are to wussy to do anything about them Will you just drink water at your D&D sessions, or do you have another plan? Would something like a sweet smoothie help?
  17. I completely agree with muddydancer with regards to the warm up. When I used to go to CF running was always apart of the warm up and I don't know why running makes me so tired compared to everything else but at the end of it I was a wreck and it really put me off my game when it came to the rest of the workout. So I ended up swapping out running for the rowing machine and that helped some.
  18. Hey Tony Looks like there's a few of us around desiring to learn Korean. Mogget <here> is also studying Korean so might be a good person for you to follow. I loved New Zealand when I visited last year. Are you on the North or South island? (Yes, my picture is from Hobbiton). I feel for you with the sugary drinks part. Are you allowing yourself diet soda, or is that cut too? Good luck with the challenge, hope to see you around.
  19. I love Zombies, Run! too. It's been so long since I've played though I'm hoping this year or next to take a cruise to Alaska. Need some more funds first though. Well done on a good first day!
  20. Welcome back mmdh8! Looking forward to seeing your goals, good luck with the challenge
  21. Great going jengetsit! I myself have not done any photography yet, but I have been sticking to Paleo (my smoothies do not look as delicious as your protein shake though) I'm been using MyPlate to track, and I'm liking it so will probably end up sticking with it. The pedometer is a good idea and I think there's even apps for it (their accuracy may vary) so you wouldn't need to buy anything.
