  1. Quidditch pushups looks ridiculously fun. What a great idea! I'm definitely excited to utilize this guild's knowledge base to get my form sorted out. Thanks for the tip about the app, I'll have to check that out
  2. Subbed! I'm jelly of that view. Looking forward to seeing what your goals are
  3. I've looked through some of your post history, and I'm so impressed with your journey! Subbing, looking forward to following your progress this challenge.
  4. Subbed! We have pretty similar calorie deficits, and my muscles are not particularly thrilled. But upward and onward! I look forward to following your progress.
  5. Subbed yo. We need to coordinate a mitten meetup at some point. We no longer have snow on the ground as a travel excuse. Now it's just excessive amounts of construction...
  6. After a very successful first challenge over at the level 1 rebel's group, I've decided to join up over here! Strength training has been my main fitness focus, so I figured it was a good fit. My main goal remains the same for the time being: Fit back into my size 4 jeans. I began last challenge at size 8-10, and am now sitting comfortably at a 6, which is exciting! Sub-goal 1: Deal with form issues (specifically my squat). I learned a lot last challenge about strength training, and got my feet wet in the free weights. Upon filming my squat form, I realized it was terribad and needed some remediation. So, I must do mobility work several times a week, and do several sets of body-weight squats every day. Sub-goal 2: Fix my dick-around-itis. I've been "doing" SL5x5, while mostly dicking around. So this challenge I will be getting a notebook, and actually sticking to a program consistently, 3-4 times per week. Sub-goal 3: Be able to do 10 real push-ups with good form. I can currently do 3, which makes me feel pathetic. To fix this, push-ups will be done on a daily basis, beginning with lots of incline push-ups. I will do these at my desk when nobody is looking. Life Goal: Stop sucking at my job. I have no idea what I'm doing, and it's making me want to slack off instead of asking lots of questions. I really need to be better about this, and spend less time on reddit. I'll have measurements/starting pictures up on Monday morning to kick things off!
  7. I've been working the 5x5 lifts for about two months now, and my progression has definitely not been linear. I attribute this mostly to eating at a relatively large deficit, as I need to get my weight and bf% about 25#/15%bf. I'm pretty happy with making some progress, but it can definitely be frustrating at times. But like was said before, can't have your cake and eat it too. I can't cut AND make really fast gainz. I just don't eat enough for that at the moment.
  8. Congrats on the successful challenge! It's been a pleasure with you and the other ladies of the CCC, and I can't wait to follow your accomplishments next challenge
  9. Great job IF! Happy to see that you met all of your goals and are having success cutting out sugar I look forward to seeing you around the CCC next challenge!
  10. Lady, you are such an inspiration! Great job with all of your progress. I loved following your challenge, and can't wait to see what awesome things that you will achieve in the next one
  11. All right, all. It's time for a wrap up post. I'll have some proper progress pictures up in the next day or two! Overall, I would say this was a resounding success! I'm officially down 11 pounds, and wearing several pairs of pants that I previously couldn't even get over my hips, let alone button, let alone breathe in. I feel great, and have stuck to my keto meal plan this entire time! I sleep better, have more energy, and am more excited about this fitness journey. Like I said before, I'll have some proper progress pictures to round this out in a few days. Until then, please feel free to check out my progress album here: Thanks so much for all of the support you guys (especially the ladies over at the CCC, you've been awesome!). Having a supportive community has made all the difference for me.
  12. Dude, awesome chart-splosion! I might have to steal that and start making charts of my own for the next challenge Congrats on the progress!
  13. I'm recently digging the maxi dress trend where there is solid fabric underneath that falls mid-thigh to knee length, while there is sheer fabric that goes all the way to the ankles. That way, you can show some leg (muscle) while still having the fun flowy maxi dress feeling
  14. Decided to take this week off of the gym, because I am so beyond stressed that my body doesn't need any more of it. I've spent my time dealing with family crisis', and I'm burned out. But good news is that it's the weekend, and I'm still going strong on the diet front. Thanks for all of the support during this challenge, I appreciate it.
  15. 1. As per usual, I tend to set the bar way too high for myself and beat myself up about it when I don't attain unrealistic goals (like three pull-ups in 6 weeks...seriously?!). But my main goal of fitting into my old jeans over the long haul is still a good one, and has helped me stay sane. Having a good financial goal like paying off my debt was great as well, and reminded me to be aware of my spending. 2. I think in the future I will have to put way more thought into my short term goals to make sure that they are attainable and won't stress me out. 3. For my long term goal (be a size four again), it's here to stay. I know it's attainable, and I've been able to make some progress which is very encouraging. It's nice to have a goal that's not weight based, and I don't weigh myself very often. Focusing on my diet and exercise has been very healthy for me, I think. 4. I'm so excited to keep on my journey of weight lifting! But I'm also excited to explore ways to make sure that stress in my life (like my dysfunctional family, ugh) doesn't create hormonal roadblocks. So maybe next challenge I'm going to incorporate some stress management goals to approach my health from a holistic standpoint It's been so great to get to know all of you ladies, and I am seriously looking forward to next challenge with y'all!
  16. Ugh, it's been a rough week. Family drama, and I haven't been to the gym on my regular schedule. But I've been staying on track with my diet goals, which is good I suppose
  17. It's supposed to be 60 degF today!
  18. Yeah, it's not bad. I still have no idea what I'm doing, which gets really frustrating sometimes. But once I learn the in's and out's of what I'm working with, I think I'll like it a lot more. What about you? Did you like it?
  19. I just graduated recently and work as a Project Scientist for an environmental consulting firm. My degree is in Applied Ecology & Environmental Sciences, and now I specialize in air compliance for municipal solid waste clients. So, basically, I work with landfills. And make sure they don't break the rules.
  20. Hey guys! I've been squatting (among other things) for a few weeks now, and this is the first opportunity I've had to get my form taped. I'd like to hear your thoughts on how it can improve. Thanks in advance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2r-Y3yDY17M&list=HL1396021340
  21. Hey! It looks like things are going great for you. Free food is awful at my work...somebody always brings in baked goods in the morning. I just go hide in my cubicle with my coffee and coconut oil until they eat it all. Good on you for resisting! I know it's tough.
  22. Guys! Guys! Guess what? I'm down 10 pounds! After a month! And when your 5'2", 10 pounds makes a pretty big difference I tried so hard to stick it out to the end of this challenge to weigh in, but I couldn't contain myself. My curiosity got the better of me, and I'm thrilled.
  23. Thank you for all the support! I really appreciate it. Things actually went pretty well with her last night, which was a relief. Hopefully she can stay sober while she's visiting. I do have exciting news though! Last night was my first weigh in after ~4 weeks of weight training and eating keto. I'm down ten pounds! Yay! I'm getting closer to a range where I'm comfortable with following a body re-composition protocol. Before my weight was just a smidge too high, but it feels good knowing that I'm doing something right. I couldn't quite wait for progress pictures. I was too excited. I now have an album on here: http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/gallery/album/1015-bear-force-ones-progress/
  24. Thanks guys On a brighter note, all of that frustration from this weekend gave me a lot of motivation at the gym last night. I ran 0.6 miles instead of 0.5, and I think I'm just going to slowly work it up week by week. I got a couple new Victorias Secret sports bras this weekend, and THANK GOD because my chest feels a million times better (and let's be honest, probably looks better). Yesterday's update: Food: Breakfast: BPC Lunch: 6 oz. steak with gorgonzola butter, steamed broccoli, and a giant blue cheese wedge salad Snack: protein shake Gym Leg Press: 100# Squat: 85# Deadlift: 115# Bench Press: 65# Barbell Curl: 30# Due to wrist issues, I've been using the grippy things for push-ups, which seems to help a lot. I did 2x5 regular push-ups, and 2x10 knee push-ups. I seriously thought my arms were going to fall off, which was a great feeling. Some of my pants are starting to get loose even post-wash, which is pretty exciting First weigh-in is sometime this week...I'm hoping to have at least lost SOMETHING! haha.
