  1. When I'm coding What I look like on the outside: How I feel on the inside:
  2. Serena Williams, anyone? Also, speaking of Toph, her daughters and grand daughter definitely count in The Legend of Korra. Not to mention Toph herself is well into her eighties and still kicking ass and taking names.
  3. Getting fairly close to graduating to weighted pullups. I just recently did a set of 8 with the other sets having a decent amount of reps.
  4. Apparently there is a species of mouse on this amazing and bizarre planet called the Grasshopper Mouse that has the spirit of a warrior. Watch the video below. That high pitched squeal its shown doing? The Grasshopper Mouse does that at the start of every. single. fight. That's right. There is a mouse that has a battle cry. It can demolish highly venomous creepy crawlies while using fancy acrobatics to avoid being poisoned.
  5. For all you Australian peeps out there:
  6. How many people read this expecting to find out how many bronies exist on these forums?
  7. I'm sure all the computer nerds on here can identify with this guy: http://gazette.com/man-shoots-computer-in-colorado-springs-alley-gets-revenge-he-wanted-and-a-citation/article/1550042
  8. He had a hook strapped onto the handless arm.
  9. This. Its as if someone decided that the Shake Weight just wasn't enough. I have never laughed so much in my life. And yes, this is a real product and commercial. Tip: Watch 1:54 - 2:00.
  10. Saw a guy yesterday who only had one hand and was deadlifting three plates like a boss.
  11. Be careful with that train of thought. A lot of these problems start in childhood, and children are very impressionable. Anyone here who has been bullied in childhood can attest to this.
  12. Actually phytomancer brings up an interesting thought. Society has a favorable view on skinny women, but a skinny guy would be a different story.
  13. I actually agree with the article in that there is no such thing as skinny shaming and that society gives systematic priviledge to skinny people, women especially. But I am concerned about the growing belief that it is perfectly ok to bully skinny people simply because they are skinny and the belief that they don't have body image issues because of their social privilege.
  14. I'll see if I can find the whole episode once I get off from work. One thing I did want to comment on is when a large woman in the audience commented on the thin woman that was on the panel, calling her 'skinny minny' and Dr. Phil called her out on it, to which the large women on the panel said that it's not as hurtful as insulting a larger person. I respectfully disagree. I was never what most people would consider to be rail thin, but my mom and sister are, and they can tell you all the horrible insults people have thrown at them over the years, especially my sister who had to endure it throughout her school years. Skinny minny, skinny bitch, anorexic, beanpole, young and the breastless (what my mom was often called in high school). Saying things like "even a dog wants some meat on his bones". These things do hurt, and while my mom dealt with it okay as an adult, I watched my sister struggle with all the cattiness and back stabbery that often accompanies it. It especially enrages me when people use the word anorexia as an insult against thin women, as though it were a body type or a joke instead of treating it as the serious mental health issue that it is. Not to mention that it ignores all the overweight and obese people who also suffer from it.
  15. *Attempt to get back on topic* I know Dr. Phil is generally held in low regard around here, but there was a show about fat shaming that I thought was interesting. Will have to track it down later.
  16. google search for bro brought up this: The Bro Network Security Monitor
  17. This is something I don't think I will ever understand. People are going to look at other people as long as the human body continues to reflect light back into our retinas. Its like my mother always told me, if you don't want people to look at you, go hide somewhere. Personally, I don't care who stares at me, mostly because I'm too focused on what I'm doing to notice. As long as that person stays their creepy ass on the other side of the gym, its all good.
  18. I get the feeling someone on here has done something like this:
  19. So the next time I see or experience a black man telling a black woman that "No offense, but I don't date black women. I don't think they are attractive." its because its "hardwired" into him? I'm supposed to believe that his comment comes from a place that is not internalized racism as the result of a western culture that puts European beauty standards up on a pedestal and systematically conditions black girls from a young age to believe that the way they naturally look is ugly and unwanted even by male members of their own ethnicity? There is hardwired attraction, and then there is social conditioning, and once we move away from sexual orientation, it increasingly become difficult to tell the difference between the two.
