Quick into: I'm a 45 year old programmer. Not terribly overweight and lost 10 lbs prior to our life changing move. But I have never enjoyed exercise and working out, but I'm tired of always being tired. Time to stop reading about people on Nerd Fitness taking control of their lives and time for me to join the ranks. Main quest: Hike 5 miles Smokey Mountain National Park with my Husband without worrying about the state of my ankles and body or whether I can finish. Steps: 1) Join the local health club and work with weights 2 days a week and swim 3 days a week 2) Be able to swim 3 full laps without stopping at each leg 3) Lose a total of 4 inches - 1" around my waist, 1/2" each arm, 1" around my hips, 1/2" around each thigh or so. Life Quest: Learn to do pull-ups and a hand stand. Find a form of activity that I really enjoy doing. That's all I really have for now. Started on step 1 last week. Joined the gym. Swam 2 days, did a stretching class, and got my weight training program together. Again at the gym tomorrow morning. Goal is to do 8 laps in the pool. Thanks for reading, CL
