  1. I'm dogsitting for my parents while they are away on a Caribbean cruise. I let the dog (miniature poodle) sleep with me on the bed, and everyday when we wake up, he does this stretch and yawn thing that is just too cute. That dog loves me unconditionally and makes me smile every time.
  2. Wow, double-unders are so difficult! Good job on the 47 unbroken!
  3. Finished in 24:32. Broke up the work into sets of 3 (3 sets of 7, 3 sets of 6, etc). Was nice, because every successive round was less work! Was convinced to give "Annie" a shot afterwords and did a set of 40 unbroken DU's, which is a PR for me!
  4. I managed 78. Did my first sets of T2B today, with toes actually reaching the bar!
  5. I got 82 reps. Those 225lb DL's really had me gassed. I still felt ok at the end of the workout so maybe I shouldn't have rested so much between each 225lb lift. My PR is a 275lb sumo DL, so I was really hoping to get down at least one rep at 275-lb, but alas that didn't happen. Oh well! I wonder what 14.4 will bring... burpees of some sort!

    Almond Milk?

They also have Sol sunflower milk now too (I found it at Costco). Creamier than almond milk and ha a nuttier taste.
  7. Congrats! I want to hit 300lb DL by the end of summer myself! Thanks for the inspiration
  8. Congrats on your weight loss and welcome to the community!
  9. Congrats on taking the first steps to becoming healthier. A walk/jog is a great way to begin! You'll be running non-stop in no time Oh, and you'll learn to love muscle stiffness; kind of a reinforcement loop telling you that you worked hard!
  10. Welcome aboard! I eventually want to enter into a career in law enforcement as well, but with the Toronto Police Services. What type of bike do you ride, I have a GSX650f. Man, I would love to visit the Yukon and see the Northern Lights. Have fun on your journey of -25lbs!
  11. Welcome! Being able to do a hand stand pushup is one of my goals too!
  12. Welcome! Martial arts and kickboxing sounds pretty neat! I will have to try it
  13. Wow, your story is very inspiring. Good on your for taking life by the horns and showing who's boss! Good luck on your journey
  14. Once you've been off sugar for a while, you will notice that foods you once enjoyed are now too sweet and you won't crave them anymore. Gets so much easier!
  15. Awesome! Now time to set a new goal and hit that one too!
  16. I have a pair of the Reebok Crossfit Lifters that I purchased on sale for $65 (Canadian). They are very stable and I like them a lot. Granted, they are a "hybrid" lifting shoe for Crossfit (ie the flexible forefoot) but I think they are great. Keep your eye out as they put certain colours on deep discount if they aren't selling well. My pair is blue/grey/orange and they are ugly as sin, but they were cheap! 17. Hope you feel better Niccolo. I had a friend who suffered from migraines while running and it was because of her tense neck muscles as well. PT really helped her with that issue. I didn't end up beating my score of 5 for 14.2. I did a WOD with a bunch of push presses on Sunday so that probably didn't help with the OHS on Monday. I wonder what 14.3 will be? i'm guessing burpees of some sort!
  18. I only got 5 reps when I attempted 14.2 on Saturday. I have bad shoulder mobility and have difficulty locking my arms out in the overhead position. I guess 5 reps at 95lbs isn't bad when my previous OHS PR was around 65lbs. Going to give it another go this afternoon and try to hit 6 reps!
  19. Thanks for the welcome! It's cold up here, which makes it difficult to go to the gym sometimes! Need to be determined
  20. I also have a tendency to purchase many unnecessary things. I find it helpful to keep track of EVERYTHING you spend money on. I enter all my purchases into a spreadsheet and look at the total monthly. Once you see the amount you're spending, it'll give you a better picture of what you need to cut down on. Then you compare to next month's total and see how you progressed. Another tip is to write down you potential purchases and wait a week. In seven days, if you still want to purchase the item, then go for it. I find that after waiting the initial 7 days, the amount of "want" I have for a particular purchase drops to near zero and I have avoided an unnecessary purchase. Hope that helps!
  21. Not excited about the chest to bar pullups in 14.2! Looks like my score will be 10 (maybe 11 if I'm lucky). Here's my profile: http://games.crossfit.com/athlete/307291
