  1. Are you saying there is no wisdom in cat gifs? I'm appalled!
  2. Good for you. I'm still trying to figure out what my "extra" is going to be...
  3. End of the week and here is my progress thus far: Starting weight last week: 258 lbs Today's starting weight: 256 lbs Total weight lose, including pre-challenge: 18 lbs Activity level: Yoga, Walked 6 miles My Missions: To drink 64 ounces of water a day: completed everyday. I've limited my options to water and tea. To workout 3 times a week: completed To limit any junk food/cheat meals to one meal a week: I found this week to be the hardest with eating (week 5). I felt hungry all the time and found myself over eating because I couldn't get enough. I know the idea is, "If you're hungry, then eat. If you're not, then don't." But I was just always hungry. I still lost 2 pounds, and it feels good to be in the 250s. I haven't been here since college (when I was boxing). It doesn't look like I'm going to make my goal, though (25 lbs), but I'll still take 18 any day. I'm also starting to feel a lot looser in yoga. Starting off, I'm stiff, but within the first 5-10 minutes, I feel really great and loose. This has been great, and the morale is high!
  4. I would suggest doing it. I found that my family drank an entire 5 gallon jug in two days. Put that in bottle form and that is a lot money, but really good for us!
  5. Hey everyone. I'm new. So I'll just sit back in the corner and learn from the wisdom of your conversation.
  6. By the end of the battle, the Pastor had managed to climb to his knees and gain a posture of meditation. His eyes have grown dark and focused, his breathing deep and dark. There is determination in his will. It seems as though the close encounter just experienced had brought back the disciplines of his sacred training. His head began to dip, lower and lower, and his breathing deeper and deeper. His focus and attention have become unwavering as he regains his strength. There is still pain in his torso, but his mind fights through the deception. There is a great task at hand and the pain is only temporary. His eyes open, and his face is haunting. He steps to his feet with little wincing or hesitation. Turning to LWR, he says, "This ends now." "What about your armor? Your weapon?" replies LWR "This rob is my only armor, yet my mind will not rob me of life." Leaning down, he picks up one dull, bloody dagger and places it in his belt. Across the room, he finds a think wooden rod strong enough to use as a staff. He holsters it to his back. Reaching across his chest, he places his hands in the sleeves of his rob. Walking towards Teros, he says, "You have my attention and my prayers. Lead, brother!"

  10. Well, my wrist are starting to feel a tad bit better. I think it is just a matter of building some muscle that I've never had before... On a good note, I am in the middle of learning the Warrior pose this week. And with that, I have found how flexible my body is not! I haven't been as sore as I thought I would be with all the yoga, and whatever, but I am really enjoying it. On a total side note: today my wife and I got a 5 gallon water cooler. For 5 weeks now, I have only consumed water... and pallets of water bottles are not cheap. So we saved up, and got this nifty little thing. I calculated that we would save over $120 a year... Not a whole lot, but still something. Baby steps, yes?
  11. Cookie crumbles.... Oh my goodness. If you want a delicious treat, I stumbled upon some pale apple pie, without the crust. My kids and I cut up some apples (Fuji of course), put some organic "butter-like" substance and sprinkled cinnamon. Then baked it for like 20 min. After that, dumped them in a bowl (still warm) and poured honey all over them. It might of been the greatest thing I've put in my mouth since the beginning of this challenge...
  12. The Pastor takes a stance at the back of the group, grasping his hands to his chest. His breathing is slowing and the room, filled with fighting, grunting, and clanging of battle weapons, are coupled with a low and disturbing song. LWR looks to The Pastor with question. His posture has grown relaxed and focused, his eyes closed and his song becoming stronger and more disturbing. The Pastor knows his physical weakness may only hurt the group, but his mind and spirit must press on. His prayers may be refreshment to the souls of men and women in the battle. Just ahead, two goblins break through the group, setting their eyes on the The Pastor, vulnerable, without shield or weapon. Their snarling becomes dark as they swiftly take foot towards The Pastor. Thom turning towards and begins to run towards the goblins, yet there is very little chance for him to catch the goblins. As they neared, the Pastor, still in a prayerful stance begins to sink towards his knees, preparing for impact. Thom, foreseeing the coming damage, begins sprinting harder. LWR has become aware and turned towards the Pastor, focusing her prayers. The first goblin reaches the Pastor with weapon raised, as the second approaches mere seconds behind. As the swinging of the club comes flying towards the Pastor, he jolts to the side with unknown quickness. Finding himself behind the first goblin, yet in front of the other which is closer now. The Pastor squares toward the second goblin forcing his foot into his chest, throwing him back closer to Thom. Thom reaches the goblin to destroy (please feel free to explain the gruesome destruction of this goblin (; ). The first goblin has regained his footing, turn and now staring into the eyes of the The Pastor. The eyes of the Pastor have grown white, and his face grown tight and aware. The goblin begins to show fear, swings his weapon at the Pastor... The Pastor thrust his hand forward, connecting with the chest of the goblin, lifting him off his feet and throwing him to the back wall, slamming against the rock. The Pastor runs to the goblin, picking him up and forcefully throwing him to another wall head first. The sound of the goblin's skull hitting against the rock echos across the room. The goblin is now limp, laying on the ground without life. The Pastor makes eye contact with LWR, taking a breath and then collapsing to the ground grabbing his chest. He is still weak, and exerting himself only makes him weaker. This weeks challenge is pretty difficult for me as I am unable to do much of these types of exercise. I have a bulging disk which makes it hard to lung or squat, and I also have costochondritis, which makes it almost impossible to do push ups. But, I've tried, just so I can be a part of the group. Pushup: 10 Lunges: 5 Total: 1.5 goblins
  13. Walked 2 miles today, pushing a stroller with both boys in it. Then, while my wife was doing her workout in the bedroom, I started Surya B - Warrior. This was incredible difficult, but made it through. Feel like I'm going to hurt tomorrow. By the way, does anyone else - who does yoga - hands hurt? Like mine are sore at the bottom, close to the rest. I'm guessing because I am on them the majority of the time in yoga.... Just curious.
  14. Thanks for the advice. I've had this for over a year now. I did try physical therapy for a while and only found that every exercise brought on more pain. So, I decided to stop therapy as there was no use in paying so much money and still be in pain. When I saw my doctor in January, he said that the next thing would be the steroid injection in my spine. When I told him I wasn't to keen on the idea, he said that I could try a Chiropractor and work out with stretching and walking. Right now, I am trying the later. If I don't see a lot of improve me in about 6 months, then I will try the Chiropractor. I just am not a fan in shoving a small metal rod into my spine. He understood and gave me other options for right now. Here's hoping that weight lose and strengthening my back muscles will work.
