  1. Is anyone going to Camp this year?
  2. When I stay with strict paleo, I also wake up so much easier and sleep better and just generally feel way better. Increased energy is definitely a good side effect in my experience.
  3. Yay crossfit for the win! I love my crossfit gym. It's definitely kept me working out. I stopped smoking and drinking so much when I started crossfit, but food still gets me. The family atmosphere and support has helped me a ton
  4. This is my story too. It all started when my grandma brought over homemade candies before thanksgiving and it's a personal offense to not eat grandma's cooking. Since then it's been extreme bad eating. My plan is to not buy any more candy for my house, which is my biggest weakness. I'm starting a Whole30 challenge in January and the plan is to not buy candy and to go easy on myself until then. Maybe not the best plan or helpful, but it's what I'm comfortable doing right now. Like robhortn said, any small change will hopefully make you feel better and inspire more small changes in yourself.
  5. I am about halfway through Relentless by Tim Grover. It's about metal toughness and uses mostly great basketball players as examples of how to be great at whatever you do. Sorry if it's already been mentioned, there are so many pages of comments to look thru!
  6. Weight Watchers! I forgot about that. People will nsync l bring in cookies and send an email saying "I brought in cookies, they're only 4 points each! "
  7. My co-workers don't seem to want to know what's going right, they want to complain how they can't lose weight. I never talk about myself at work, and try to draw attention away from my healthy habits because these women don't want the truth. Work hard, all the time. Cutting out 1 donut a week is good, but it wont get you into a bikini. They still think you can do crunches to get a 6 pack. They don't want to hear about diet. So, I smile politely and then eat my boiled eggs and apple and look forward to my workout later. I would LOVE to go on a rant to them and educate them, but then I believe I would be personally victimized by several of my co-workers.
  8. We definitely should start planning something after the holidays are over, I agree!
  9. Oh yay! I'll keep an eye on the thread and join the next meet up.
  10. Hi all! I'm new to the forum but I've been reading NF for years and went to camp last year. I'd love to get to know some local nerds. .... and convince you all to come to camp with me next year!
