  1. Well, I got too busy to update (or do hardly anything except JUST keeping my head aove water!!) over the last month, and needed to cap off this challenge before I start another! I did OKAY for my first challenge... 10/18 for workouts, ya... No excuses 20/18 for walking during break. Whoa now!!! It helps that I don't like eating lunch inside when I can go for a walk in the sun instead! 19.2 points for diet?? Have no idea how I got that # now! I ate 75% paleo, so... 14.4 points 6/6 for getting creative! 50.4/60... I'd call that a pass! Good thing I took those extra walks though Feeling good about what I've accomplished. Haven't seen physical change, so I will be pushing myself harder on the workouts over the next challenge!
  2. So... this week sucked. Our business has been taking sooo much out of me, and what little is left is being sucked out of me by my "regular" job, add a crazy-ass three year old and a less-than-polite pre-teen, and I am emotionally drained!! I made a couple tough decisions, and should be able to get my head clear over the next week- I'll be awarding myself some serious wisdom points if I do I did some exercises as I found time but not a workout "session," and that really makes a difference for how I feel I did bust out the doorway bar and show my hubby my progress. He's always encouraged me but he seemed genuinely impressed this time that I can do pull-ups, cuz he knows I've always been a huge weakling It was a huge motivator to keep working on ALL of my goals! Food wise I've done okay. Definitely doing better than 80% I've decided to set up a schedule for myself. I need that structure!! Monday/Wednesday/Friday: Walk during lunch. This is the MINIMUM, I will walk more as I feel like it, especially if the weather is nice. I walk around the block from where I work, and it's amazingly hilly- literally there's a hill on three sides of the block, and I walk the three sides out and back, so it really is a workout, not just a casual stroll! Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday: BBWW or similar. No excuses, just do it. I'll still do my normal exercise-when-I-can, but this will make me feel better and really be more beneficial for my health- I need to face it, getting sweaty is a good thing, regardless of how much I hate it! My life goal is going swimmingly. (I like that word!) I've done more than one creative thing every week, and am getting more comfortable with getting things out of my head and onto something I'm currently working on motivational quotes, and it makes me feel good to get them done!! Oh, I've rambled on and on, haven't I?? Ha! One more thought: I'm aiming for the assasins guild when I'm done this challenge. Their "whole body fitness" and "the world is your playground" ideas REALLY appeal to me Thinking we can all be amazing this week! I'll be on sending some encouragement as I get time
  3. Oh the guilty working mom thing... I totally do that too! I love jumping jacks between "hard" exercises, love the feeling of getting the body loosened up and ready for more Good job on watching your form! And bonus for the no wheezing- you are making great strides of awesomeness!! Way to go
  4. I go through cycles with the food. Either I do really great and keep to my paleo, or I bomb completely. I'm really working on finding the line between choosing the lesser of two evils (ie,having chop suey instead of deep fried wontons when the family goes out for dinner). I'm still working on just getting through the BBWW. I be got to make a pay about where I'm at so by the end of the challenge I can see my progress You go rock it now!! Check back with you soon
  5. It sounds word to our S.A.D. trained brains, but I really like dinner leftovers for breakfast. Haven't made it so far as salad at 5am, but leftover grilled salmon and root veggies, leftover acorn squash with pecans, and greens (think spinach, kale, broccoli) in a scramble are definitely in my rotation. Great work on your goals. Your are freaking smashing this!! You will be my inspiration to not let my health and goals slide as I get into getting my own business off the ground!!!
  6. I always get the crazy eye cuz I'm pretty weird anyways... I actually showed a coworker my washroom pull ups... I have now cemented my crazy status! Thanks;) I will try to bust out some awesomeness! Been rough mentally so I'm trying to combat it with exercise rather than food!! Thank you! I really should have an awesomeness indicator visor to remind myself of that! Its easy to get in a slump and not really understand how far you've already come!!!To you all, did ya know that "awesome" is my favourite word??!! These last three posts have been a great motivator! I'm going to do my BBWW when I get home, and then get on these boards to check in on you all Let's get our awesome on!!!
  7. Way to go. Hazard seems to really know his stuff, that's for sure!! You had really great progress this week
  8. Way to keep on through the Easter weekend! Shows you are really going to CRUSH this challenge Keep it going!!!
  9. I'm laughing SO hard!!!!!!!!! I JUST drink my first non-sweetened coffee... and milk instead of cream... one step at a time? Oh, geez, I get this. "Battering your taste buds," indeed!!
  10. This is true, and probably the biggest reason I joined this group; everyone is on their own journey and the NF community doesn't just cater to one "type," everyone is welcome
  11. Booyah, indeed. It always starts with just one... At least our just one is a GOOD one I started with chin ups. Over the past year, I've worked myself up to a being able to do a couple of those. I didn't even realize there was a difference until I got on NF I'm hoping by the end of this challenge, I'll be able to do a few more of each on the doorway bar I have
  12. Is it more typical to post progress in your challenge thread or in a "battle log" in the rebellion headquarters forum?
  13. @Cortronic I did a front and a side photo, both with my hands behind my back. I'm not looking for "perfect" (I took them at 3am in my bathroom when I was getting ready for work) photos, just ones that will show me my progress! Took measurements of bicep, chest, waist, hips and thigh.
  14. Amazing progress, Hazard! Is that a "Boo"yah there??!!
  15. Oh, I've got such chest soreness I thought I'd have to go to the doctor... Until a friend pointed out that I've done more pull ups this week than I have in my entire life! Oh, to get my three year old to bed without a hitch, what a DREAM!!! LOL Maybe I'll make that my "life" goal next challenge
  16. @ sjr243- OH, coffee mate creamer... the butter toffee one... or the french vanilla one... MMMMM The thing is, is if I make good coffee at home, I can drink it with a lot less sugar, but work has really really bad swamp water coffee, and it needs a very big helping hand!!! I have switched from the regular white crap to organic, single process, fair trade sugar from Level Ground. It's so damn expensive ($7/kg... or about $3.50/lb), it forces me to use less @Feowyn- Thanks Feeling better today, but not 100%; will be taking my daughters for a nice, casual walk tomorrow and just not doing anything too strenuous for a few more days. Not writing about food today, I didn't do horrible, or anything, but I'm working through some food issues.... Big weekend for our family with Easter and all: the father-in-law is coming with his wife, Easter and a date!!! Oh, I just haven't been on one of those in... a month?? Six weeks?? Ya... it's been that long!! Exercise wise... 2 pull ups in the women's washroom again!! WHAT??!! Instead of 2X1, I did 1X2!!! (That's the way I write, that, right??? Sets, then reps?!) I am SO freaking excited about that :-D Six months ago a pull up was a pipe dream for me!! Booyah!! (Oy, I need a new positive affirmation word!)
  17. I second that fully!! Hoping everyone is making positive strides towards their goals
  18. Day 3 -Coffee... but tried with 1/2 the sugar. Not loving it. Got myself some loose leaf "detox" tea, so going to see how that works in the mornings!! -Yogurt, handful of nuts/dried cranberries, a small piece of pork loin and an apple while at work. -Big helping and 2 sausages as soon as I got home (late lunch). Knew this was coming: I forgot the squash I specifically made for my lunch!! Go figure. I officially LOVE ACORN SQUASH as much as yams... And like I said before, DAMN, I LIKE ME SOME YAMS!!! -Dinner pork loin, squash, a couple squares of dark chocolate. Feeling less than stellar mentally today- BIG stress at work that made me want to run away and eat junk food and drink ice caps and scream terrible things at people. BUT I DIDN'T. Booyah, got some extra CON points right there!!! Pulled something in my ankle, right at the front and down the top of my foot, while exercising yesterday Couldn't even push the blankets around in bed, it hurt so bad, and walking was NOT comfortable. -WIS for not knowing my limits!! (Can't win them all, now can I?!) Needless to say, NO leg work today, but I'm going to bust out the dumbbells and do some rows
  19. Hi! Great goals, and definitely not confusing! I'm trying to get better for my kids too, and being skinny fat, I'm very aware of the quality of the food I put into my body now. Good luck!!!
  20. Hello, fellow Canadian! Way to keep the motivation up for challenge #2 Definitely keep a couple of your "too small" wardrobe items so you have something to work towards! Good luck
  21. Heya Hazard! See you a lot around other places, offering up a real positive outlook on things! You've got a new friend in me I'll never be an assassin, but I definitely appreciate the effort it must take to be in that class! Great videos. I think one day, after I strengthen my core ( a LOT) I'm going to have to try that whole reverse crunch thing Maybe for challenge #2, hey?! I love good stories too! Currently reading The Wheel of Time Series
  22. Got a little boost. Did 10 more squats, 3 regular pushups, 5 bent knee push ups, about 10 jump squats and 10 calf raises- all with my biggest little person copying (she's nine)! Totally counting this as a workout Also, cooked a squash specifically for eating tomorrow at work!
  23. A man who you see walking down the street with his HEAD UP, looking around! Shows he is present, first off, and screams confidence!! Hate seeing people walk around staring at their feet
  24. Day 2: -Coffee... Which was my "not giving this up" thing and now I'm thinking maybe I will... Not feeling so great about the sugar consumption at 5:00 am everyday; I like my coffee sweet okay - 10: Two chicken thighs - 12: Individual Greek yogurt, a handful of almonds/cranberries -Dinner: Pizza (1:4 non-paleo meal allotment) and salad. Still not feeling up to snuff today Over course of day I did 2x1 pull ups (using the stall in the women's washroom at work... NO EXCUSES not to exercise, so if the mood strikes me, I've decided to just DO IT!!), played tag with my daughter on the way to the grocery store (NO EXCUSES) and 10 BW squats.
  25. Oh, I was having the SAME feeling! I just started randomly picking people to comment on, but making an effort to find a little something we have in common when I post, cuz I would like to see people with similar goals to my own to be the ones following and commenting to me
