  1. Awesome. I'm going to close out this challenge with how they've ended at the 6 week mark I hit. Main Quest: I am currently 150 lbs, 5 ft 7. Grade A Quest 1: I've been doing circuits from the basic body workout 3 times a week. I've reached the ability to complete 3 full circuits, but not 4 times a week, just 3 . I'd Rate this a B Quest 2: I've been 47 days paleo as of this morning and I feel great! I'd rate this an A. Huge life change successful Quest 3: With all of that, I'm currently about 7 weeks soda free. Was difficult, but i've done it! Grade A Life Quest: I've only been able to pay off $500, didn't reach my full goal on this one. Grade B. I'll update and try to pick a guild as recommended. Assassin, Ranger are what interest me thus far.
  2. Though I was late to this last challenge, I made half of it 3 weeks thus far and am still going strong. Im continuing with the Paleo Diet and will of hit 30 days as of this coming saturday. I'll be setting up more Goals for the challenge that began yesterday. I'm still getting the hang of challenges and start/finish times. Here's a summary of my results: Main Quest: I've dropped down to 150 lbs from my starting 168lbs three weeks ago. Been more active, but have yet to hit the track at this time. However, I have been going on daily walks and sprinting to my car with my wife when we leave a grocery store... I did this often until it recently dawned on me that when I race my wife to the car after leaving Wal-Mart, that everyone looks at you as if you stole something haha... I'm adjusting this to attempt running into the store, not out haha. Quest 1: Semi Success, I've been able to reach 3 time circuits, but have only been able to accomplish them 3 days a week instead of the previously intended 4 times a week. (half credit) Quest 2: I will have hit the 30 day Paleo Challenge as of this coming Saturday April 12th. Quest 3: I am currently 4 weeks to the day Soda free and been drinking Water and Coffee like crazy. Life Quest: Previous goal was to pay $800 dollars towards student debt. I've currently been able to pay $500. I'm wondering, should I set up new challenges towards the April 6th six week challenge since I began this last challenge late? That way I won't be too far behind? Also, i saw that there was a "Nerdster" (Easter) event in Austin next week. Being in huntsville, it's only a couple hours away, didn't know if newbs were invited as well haha. Just wondering. -Nightavenger
  3. Hey there Fruity Overlord, I logged in today to report my progress. I can say its definitely been intense for me thus far. I've kept up the Basic Body weight workout 4 times a week and have been working towards achieving the 3x consecutive circuit. Right now i've only been able to do 2 in a row. Those Lunges/Squats are killer. I'm half way through the 30 day challenge to eat paleo and it's been life changing. It's taken a lot of discipline (which I normally lack) but i've been able to go to the complete switch and eat only paleo, drink lots of water/coffee (which I've never done), and made incredible progress. I haven't even taken "cheat" days because I'm the type of person that is full on or off, if I "cheat" I break. I saw my brother and my folks last weekend, after already seeing them over spring break, and they were shocked at how much better I looked just by eating right. I didn't even tell them that I was attempting paleo first. It was great encouragement for me to keep going. Then my biggest accomplishment thus far is that i'm now down to 150lbs already. It's absolutely incredible! It's just shocking... my sides have trimmed out, i've been able to do pull-ups again and even do light jogs. I've been more alert and active as well. I'm working towards continuing this after the goals i've set, but one step at a time. Thanks for the inquiry --Nightavenger
  4. Posted most of my story in the challenge room, figured i'd add it here in case it ever came up. So.... repost lol ... but there it is. Quick history: I found this site as a result of my brother and mother over spring break. I'm a huge gamer, systems administrator, and programmer, bible study leader. It's been greatly encouraging to read and learn more about the transformations that folks have gone through. I'm 27, 5ft 7, newly wed, and have had a few negative health encounters over the last year that set in some demotivation to my old work out routine (more of a scout). Passed out while running almost 9 months ago, and found out I had a few tumors and an electrolyte defieciency that took part in the incident. Luckily they were not cancerous and I was able to get them removed. Took a little bit to get back on my feet and going, but sad to say I was more sedentary than I should have been due to fear of the previous incident. I'm healthy and whole (all things considered), but have packed on some weight to 165 (25-27% body fat) and was not eating healthy. After seeing the Rebel Starter Pack and reading through how people from all different backgrounds have overcome their pasts to head towards their goals, I became motivated last week to make a change. I saw that the next 6 week challenge begins next Monday and have begun getting myself prepped and ready. My wife has joined and boarded the train with me, been reading articles like crazy and we've already thrown out everything that doesn't fit the Paleo Diet (which is extremely new to us). Been 4 days Paleo, no sodas, and feeling healthy already. Main Quest: I really don't know whether I need to lose weight to be back down to 140-145, or stay where i'm at. But my Main quest is to be more healthy, muscular, and less sedentary. To overcome my fears of past incidents and pursue the track as a new-coming Ranger/Scout. Quest 1: Beginner Body Weight Workout with Warm-up/cooldown every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and reach the 3 time circuit by the end of the challenge. Quest 2: accomplish the 30 day Paleo challenge as proposed by Steve's article. http://www.nerdfitne...the-paleo-diet/ Quest 3: I Cut Soda out Cold turkey and am 7 days running... Keep away from the soda completely and drink more water/electrolytes everyday. Life Quest: Pay $800 dollars towards student debt. Thank you for all the articles and for the community. I'm really looking forward to taking part in this 6 week challenge and leveling up my life. It's really been encouraging. **Games currently playing, Titanfall, Diablo 3, Minecraft, and numerous steam games. Should anybody want to hit me up, i'm fairly easy to find. -Nightavenger
  5. Welcome to the club! glad you are here. I've just been here a week myself, but I can tell you it's gonna be fun.
  6. Currently i've been playing Titanfall on Origin, Feed the beast, and then been beta testing for the upcoming Wildstar mmo.
  7. Well, welcome to ya'll too . I've prepped and just got set up in the Rebel 1 Challenge portion for this coming challenge. I'm looking forward to it. -Nightavenger
  8. Thanks for the encouragement Silverwitch and The Most Loathed! I'm definitely feeling the carb withdrawals haha but i'm holding out strong with nomming on some broccoli. I've already noticed having more energy just by eating properly, I'm looking forward to getting a few more recipes worked out as well. So if you have any tips, i'll gladly welcome them. Thanks again, Nightavenger
