  1. Hi everyone, my name is Thomas I'm 22 years old from England. Getting into better shape was my new years resolution, I'm only just staring but better late than never. On the 1st February 2014 I had my last cigarette and I'm feeling great. I'm less tired, my skin looks better and the depression I was suffering from just a month ago has pretty much gone. And the smell! When people used to tell me how much they hated the smell of a smoker I thought they were just being overly dramatic, but being around people who still smoke I can see what they meant, it really is disgusting. Riding my good mood form quitting smoking I decided it's time to also cut out the junk food and the sedentary lifestyle. It's been about 3 weeks so far and I'm already down about 2kg. I've joined the rebellion to get motivated, get some tips and really put my fitness regime into over drive. I'm doing the Great Midlands fun run in June with my Dad. It's 8.3 miles, Yikes! I'm making this my main fitness goal for the next few months and would really appreciate some starting tips from the running pros here. I'm excited about joining this forum and hope to meet some cool and fun people here and hopefully in a years time I'll be the one giving new members advice .
  2. Ah I thought the challenge started on 24th march. I've missed the start by a few weeks but I'm still going to do my goals. I might not be able to meet my main quest in the time left but ! will redo the level 1 challenge in April either with the same goal or a new one.
  3. I was having some troubles with my back and found out it was because I was slouching while sitting and standing. Doing some exercises designed to help with your posture work wonders. I've also been told I look taller now that I stand straighter. Maybe these types of exercises can help you too . Best of luck in your quest. Try to look for the little improvements each day, to keep motivated. The big improvements will come in time!
  4. Hello Nerds My name is Tom I'm 22 and I'm going to do the Nerd Fitness 6 week challenge! I've recently started my journey to to the light side and I am already seeing positive results. I'm eating better and managed to quit smoking, which is the best decision I ever made . Taking part in the 6 week challenge is going to give me an incentive to work harder towards the physical level I want to be in. Main Quest Lose 8 kg (17 lbs) Goals Complete app workout 3 times a week. (it is similar to the "Beginners Body Weight" work out, but will make it easer for me to record using a phone app) Vegetables in every meal (excluding breakfast) 30 minutes of walking on each week day (Unfortunately I'm unemployed at the moment, so this will be good to get me out of the house everyday, even if it is only 30 minutes) Side Quest set aside £10 a week and put it towards a new pair of running shoes at the end of the 6 weeks. I look forward to starting this challenge with you guys and wish you all the best of luck with you own quests!
