  1. Made this profile back in 2014, had some ups and downs but never got fit. Decided recently that enough is enough. Trying to get into weight lifting, to burn all that fat down, then multiclass to monk.
  2. Alright nerds, Am I the only one in FL, surely not. I rather need a warrior lifting buddy who can help me with form and show me the ropes! Sound off!
  3. ah...good thing I wasn't trying that! So how does one use the weights? Just normal things like bicep curls, bench presses, etc depending on what you have? Thanks for the tip on Stevia, I will have to look into that! I hope it isn't like sweet n low though, that stuff tastes funky and gives me a headache. However, I will always try something once! Sorry all for the lack of posting... it looks like my wife will be miscarrying our first child, sort of a bummer. Still, I need to try and keep up when I can, who knows, formulating a challenge might help take my mind off things. Another update will follow later.
  4. Next day, didn't have breakfast because I slept instead... :s Then I had a couple bowls of pasta mixed with collared greens and cheese, rather yum! Dinner was a bacon cheese burger and some mini donuts to curb my sweet tooth with again water mixed in and keeping my legs moving almost constantly, even in my sit down job. I am hoping to phase out processed sugar entirely and that will be incredibly difficult for me. I like sweet stuff lol
  5. Thanks mmdils22! You are looking at ranger class?? Wow that was the one I would be gunning for if I didn't like martial arts so much, as it is I am sure to be spending a challenge or two there.
  6. Excellent this is exactly what I was looking for! I suppose one goes through the motions of throwing kicks, punches, etc but with the added weight and as quickly as possible? As an update, I did pretty well today food wise. Some high protein multigrain cereal with vanilla yogurt and a banana. For lunch I had a good sized caeser salad and dinner was snackish... some ...cough...ahem...mini donuts...and finishing off with a small helping of peanuts. Pounding water throughout the day as well. On the theoretical side, I am looking more and more at going paleo, but I still need more research on that. Exercise wise, I just got some great tips from Kishi and will be doing more research though I have plenty of body weight for some body weight exercises lol, push ups and crunches, I am thinking.
  7. Hey all, So I found NF right in the middle of the challenge and rather than start late, I am going to battle log and try to lay some good foundations for healthy...full..ness...stuff... I have a few pseudo goals. One is to establish a healthy balanced diet without the use of supplements. I want to get in good athletic shape, not just musclebound but good running stamina. I want to get into martial arts again, I used to be and stopped. Now I want more. Diet-wise. One thing I do great is drink loads of water, it is really all I drink anymore. Otherwise, I suck. I need to really tone down my sweets and fats intake, I have sort of got a reverse food pyramid going at the moment. So I will be researching a good weight loss regimen at first, then change it gradually as I increase my exercise. Stamina wise: I need to run more primarily which means I need new running shoes since slip ons won't cut it and I am not terribly keen on barefoot running atm, So once it warms up again, I want to start by running a mile a day, increasing pace to a good clip (not a sprint though) and increase distance from there. Finally for monk-i-ness: I need flexibility and fast muscle twitch. To that end, I think I will start yoga again and work up to increased levels of agressiveness and I will need to find a good tool to get the fast twitch muscles going to. I think I will stay away from the shakeweight considering the drama surrounding the commercials (yikes) if anyone has tips, let me know! I will cruise the gear side of the forums too. As I plan out a regimen, I will post it on here and hope for some peeps to reply with tips and urging so I can stick with it. Cheers!
  8. Hey fellow nerds who are in so much better shape then me! I found this forum quite by chance and really like the possibilities!! I am def a gamer and into DnD though never played PnP, just Bladur's Gate and the like. I play Mechwarrior Online as well as Living Legends...just a PC gamer in general. Goalwise I have always wanted to lose this extra fat that I lug around all the time, it would be nice to turn heads on the beach too! However, it isn't just fat loss and muscle build that I want. I need overall wellness since a chain is only as strong as the weakest link and a sound body (anime corpore) not paired with a sound mind (anime sano) is still a wimp and since I want to play video games competitively, I need everything trim! I am 23 years old so hopefully I have a chance still to turn things around. I am looking forward to connecting with some peeps on here, the closest I ever got to hitting my goal was when I was surrounded by friends who were also very health conscious. With any questions, post to this thread or pm me, I would love to meet ya!
  9. Hello all, First post and it seems like I sort of missed the deadline for this challenge. However, I am super excited about the possibilities presented by this thread, who knows, this may be the starting point where I actually achieve the goals I have had for years and never finished. I have been doing so skimming around and created my character through the character generator deal so I sort of assigned stats even though I wasn't supposed to. (Sorry Spezzy!) I suppose I need to do some further research as I still don't quite have a grasp on things but since I will be starting my first challenge on Apr 6, that means I am in this guild correct? I was thinking I would start as an adventurer but it sounds like this is the starting gate for new members. Finally, I am not terribly accustomed to forums so do I generally surf the topics, find an interesting one, and begin chatting with people that way? Thanks! Eager to be starting with NF!! Shaoda
