  1. Sorry you had/have so much stress, Chris-Tien. You did handle things well, especially considering all you have going on. Using awesome technology to communicate from anywhere.
  2. C25K is going ok, but I am a bit stuck. My son's cross country team had off the week before July 4th, and he was away at camp last week, so I have not had a reason to get up early for 2 weeks. I have been exercising, but not as much (it's hard to take time to exercise when you wake up at 7:30 or 8...). So when the C25k app made a jump from 5 minute runs to 8-min runs, it just didn't work. Hopefully, I will be able to stop repeating the 5 min run and move on soon now that him being back at practice is forcing more consistency again. It is really funny that you posted that breastfeeding article- I had already put it in my FB queue before seeing your post. I think the "new" way of positioning for breastfeeding mentioned in the article is definitely worth trying. IMHO, anytime we can work with the body's design things are just going to be easier for us. This way of positioning seems to meet that criteria, at least for the first 6 weeks. Using awesome technology to communicate from anywhere.
  3. I am still here! Saw this in my FB feed this morning. So frustrating. Time to start changing some perceptions, ladies! http://mobile.nytimes.com/2015/07/11/sports/tennis/tenniss-top-women-balance-body-image-with-quest-for-success.html?_r=2&referrer= Using awesome technology to communicate from anywhere.
  4. Annyshay, if you need to rethink your health routine, there is nothing wrong with that. I still struggle with regular exercise, and need to change up my routine sometimes to stay with it. It is getting a bit easier, though. Using awesome technology to communicate from anywhere.
  5. Hooray for starting up Icelandic again, and for your controlled push-up negatives! Using awesome technology to communicate from anywhere.

  9. Woohoo! Awesome! Using awesome technology to communicate from anywhere.
  10. You are making fantastice progress with your AMRAPs, especially those pushups! Go Karina!
  11. Yay! I do a bunch of those stretches every night already. Using awesome technology to communicate from anywhere.
  12. That is crazy hot. Is that contributing to undereating, perhaps? Maybe lots of raw foods and smoothies might help a bit? You are taking care of yourself even with everything going on. When I have not been eating enough a single round of bodyweight exercises is exhausting. Listening to your body is so important, and you are doing that. I have been considering the Academy as well, so I am interested to see any feedback.
  13. I have bee focusing on adding back more carbs, and I think it is helping already. At least, my energy is better even if the scale has not yet moved. I really appreciate your input. Since my target market is pregnant women ages 20 - 45, I think that the opinions of people who are NOT marketing experts is more important than those of the marketing experts. FWIW, it is a marketing expert that first told me to build the brand with my name instead of as a business. I am starting to see that people really do want to get health and pregnancy advice from a person, not a company. My perception on some of these things is different, and I have been a bit afraid of putting myself out there as me. Maybe I have been hiding behind the brand. Maybe I am afraid to really admit that I might be an expert? What I know is that it is NOT currently working well with my company website domain. I am still afraid to make the shift to personal branding, though. It seems so egotistical.
  14. Week 3, Days 6-7 . Stay Active- yes for 2 (though not intense) Saturday - yoga/stretching, Sunday - kayaking Be social- yes for 2 Saturday - some small things with famiy members, Sunday - kayaking with the Hobbit and washing the cars with the whole family Self-Care: Yes for 2 Saturday - gratitude and positive questions, Sunday - meditation Week 4, Days 1-2 . Stay Active- 2 yes Monday - kayaking with the whole family, Tuesday - ran week 4, day 3 of C25K Be social- yes for 1 Monday - Geek Gaming , Tuesday - not really, though I did hang out with the Hobbit a bit in the morning before work Self-Care: 2 yes Meditation both days. I am in a weird space lately. I want to accomplish things (building my healthy pregnancy site and content and getting systems set up for the Hobbit's business so I can have more time to build my website and content), but I also want to do more social things. The two seem to be at odds, and the result is that I am feeling frustrated and conflicted. Not sure how to deal with this, but I guess I need to learn.
  15. Understnadable. Have you tried one of the yoga apps that lets you make your own routines? That might be a lot of work, though...
  16. You are doing well. I empathize with the Pullup frustration though. Those AMRAPs just don't like to move! Using awesome technology to communicate from anywhere.
  17. Great week 3! I am so happy to hear you are feeling better again. Using awesome technology to communicate from anywhere.
  18. Keep at it, Stepmonster! You will find an excellent job and home. I understand your discouragement, but you really will get there. Eventually. Using awesome technology to communicate from anywhere.
  19. Oh, yes it is, and Gryffindor is going DOWN! Using awesome technology to communicate from anywhere.
  20. Yay! The funny part is - I had already started jumping this morning. I was getting online to post my jumps when I saw I wasn't there. Next time I will verify my own inclusion in advance.
  21. Rules clarification: I posted in my House Common Room about participating this week and thought someone had added me to the team, but don't see my name. Can I still add myself, or is it too late?
  22. Hi Cherry! Thanks for stopping by my thread. I am glad to see that you are making some good progress on your goals! Giving up grains when going paleo can be challenging, but for me it was worth it. You can get there! Subbing to join you on your journey.
  23. Catch-up time... Week 1 recap Stay Active: 5/7 Great! Be Social: 7/7 Awesome! Self-Care: 6/7 Fantastic! Week 2 Recap Stay Active: May have only been 4/7 Good, but could be better Be Social: 6/7 Fantastic! Self-Care: 5/7 Great! Week 3, Days 1-5 . Stay Active- 4 (maybe 5) yeses Monday - Did a pretty good BWW, Tuesday - ran week 4 of C25K, Wednesday - Some walking, but no focused workout. Attack of the Lady Whatnots had me feeling really cruddy. Thursday - ran week 4 of C25K, Friday - walked (briskly!) for almost an hour with the Hobbit. Be social- yes for 5 Monday - Geek Gaming (we split and played Masquerade and something else I can't remember), Tuesday - talked with my Dad on the phone , Wed - some small moments with the kids, Thursday - taught class and chatted witht he kids while waiting for their annual check-up, Friday - Hobbit time Self-Care: Yes for4 Monday - don't have any noted, Tuesday - Meditation, Wednesday - TQs and positive questions, Thursday - meditation, Friday - meditation (though it was interrupted twice) So far, so good! I have been feeling more drained during exercise lately, and it is harder for me to do what I had been doing. Thanks to Fourteen's observations in regard to our scale, I now know that I am back down around 120 lbs again. When I first went Paleo and was hovering around 125 (residual weight I had put on during my meniscus trouble about 2 years ago), I felt great! I have been getting busier, though, and am pretty tired of cooking every time I want to eat. But, I am still unwilling to go back to grains because I feel horrible after eating more than about 1 serving a week. As a result, I have been either replacing lunch with just a snack, or have not been eating as much fats and carbs as I know I need. Knowing this means I can focus on it again, and hopefully start feeling super again. Opinions? I hope no one minds if I ask for some feedback on something not at all related to fitness here. I am really struggling with a decision, and a lot of my building my healthy pregnancy business is kind of stuck behind it. I am trying to decide if I should build my "brand" as me, the healthy pregnancy guide, or as me with a business name. For example, should my website be something like myfullname.com (my last name is kind of hard to spell, so that may not be good), or something like Melindahelps.com ? Or, should I come up with some kind of brilliant phrase or domain identity, like supermoms.com, and that is my place, but it is less all about my name? I have been struggling with this decision for 2 months already. All I know is that my current domain, pocketpregnancy.com, does not make sense for moving forward as it did when I was planning to do pocket-sized booklets.
  24. I thought someone had added me to the team for this week, but don't see my name. Can I still add myself, or should I just not worry about it this week?
