I'm in ohio troy to exact anyone else in troy I'm new to fitness

So I'm new to fitness stay at home dad my wife is at AIT in Fort lynerwood Missouri going to be moving to fort Campbell KY in 2 months should I join the academy right away or should I wait till I move because I want to lose weight and get healthy to show my wife I'm not just some couch potato I'm also a video gamer so I don't really exercise I'm hoping to change that
