  1. Been fighting a migraine much of the week but managed to get a BBWW in yesterday. It didn't hurt as much as the first couple times I did it, so maybe even with missing a few scheduled days, I'm on track to success? *hopeful*
  2. I started my week off strong, but as Easter came round fell off the wagon hard. My goal had been to healthy food I prepare myself, but ham ... and chocolate Easter bunnies ... ugh. So I'm starting up again for week two. I'm doing the BBWW right now, which I think would prepare me well for life with the Doctor. Building overall health and fitness will help get those fast-twitch muscles going so that I can react at a moment's notice. My goals for this week: 1) Complete three rounds of the BBWW 2) Eat food prepared at home -- don't buy junk food 3) Check in with this group and around NF at least three times by next Sunday.
  3. Fell off the bandwagon with Easter. I am powerless against chocolate bunnies. Also had a ton of family commitments and didn't prioritize getting a workout in. Yesterday I got hired on as a FTE at my work (yay!) but had a ton of paperwork (boo!) and experienced what I imagine is the usual with salary life -- longer hours (double boo!) But tonight my plan is to get back on my horse and start up again with the BBWW and a decent dinner for once. Onward!
  4. I'm looking for an Accountability Group and I love the Doctor. Is there still room here? Nerd cred: my wife and I played the music from the Gridlock episode at our wedding when we signed our marriage certificates and did the administrative type part of the ceremony. Also, anyone local to Seattle? I would love a local work out buddy.
  5. So, I did the BBWW yesterday. My legs feel a bit sore, but overall I feel pretty good. Today I'm going to try to go for a walk after dinner, just to keep limber. I posted this in the Accountabilibuddies google doc, but I figured I might bump it here on my own thread -- is there anyone looking for an Accountabilibuddy in Seattle? I would love to have a work out partner who is local and geeky. Message me if you fit that description. Thanks!
  6. Hey all, sorry I forgot to mention specifics. Sinuses and whatnot. I am doing the BBWW three times a week for starters. Hoping to mix some cycling and hiking in on the weekends, but not getting overly ambitious and burning out. As far as defeating the sugar monster, I am packing my own snacks (nuts and fruit). Dessert has never been that big of a problem for me, but my workplace provides free Oreos and little boxes of Froot Loops, and I've fallen into the bad habit of eating that when I really should just have some almonds or a banana. Or a glass of water. I'm learning that hunger is usually just thirst, so I'm making sure I always have a glass of water on hand, and I keep taking sips from it all day. I didn't know about the Accountabilibuddy forum, thank you, Swampling! And Etchi, I will be sure to come check out the Assassin forum. Thanks all!
  7. Greetings comrades! I'm ready for a challenge and glad to be here. I like to keep things short and sweet, so here are my goals, in short order: Motivation: To fit into my summer clothes, which are currently packed away. Also, to start feeling more energetic, which I know is directly related to the amount of exercise I am doing (which is currently none.) Six Week Goal: To lose 10 pounds in six weeks. Three Sub-Quests: 1) Work out three times a week. 2) Transition away from refined sugar. 3) Check in to these forums daily and find an accountability buddy. I know I do better if I have external motivation, and I'm hopeful I can find that here. Onward!
