  1. Spezzy: Putting the "bop" in the "bop shoo bop shoo bop" for 28 years. Super cool pics and vids. Very intense.
  2. One of my greatest fears is that the love of my life will turn out to be vegan. Good luck with this, for real.
  3. Thank you! It's been such a big milestone for me, because I remember way back in high school, when my mom told me that once I got above 200 the weight would just pile on from there. Now I feel like an avalanche - unstoppable!
  4. I forgot to mention that in yesterday's safety meeting at work, I was featured in an ergonomics discussion due to my standing workstation!
  5. This weekend, I reloaded some 30-06 rounds and put them through my rifle to test them. Everything went smoothly. I was quite pleased! To further improve my moods, my scale read 199.8 yesterday morning, making this the first time in probably 7 or 8 years that I've been under 200 pounds! 7.5 pounds this challenge so far. I am keeping up with the diet, managed to not cheat at all this weekend. My running is remaining undone, and I feel like my smoking is slowly getting worse than my first week started out. All in all, I'm not unhappy with my progress thus far, but I would certainly like to improve my performance in those last two areas.
  6. It's a long minute since I updated, and mostly there isn't much good to report. My weekends are tending to fall apart when it comes to diet and smoking. Over the past week I've averaged about a pack a day (less than normal, but twice my goal) and I binged about half my meals on Friday and Saturday. I have been keeping up with my strength training, although I've dropped bodyweight exercises for a 5x5 SL program, which I am really enjoying so far. In other news, I got my work bench made and tonight I'm going to try out the reloading press and pound out a few shells. On a related note, I got a letter in the mail telling me my application for concealed handgun permit was approved and I went and picked that up after work. While my weight loss has stalled momentarily, I am feeling extremely good from the workouts, so I'm not too upset with myself. I bought me a wool overcoat for winter, and it's pretty snazzy looking. I also got a new pair of jeans, since my shorts are all too big for me now, and I was surprised to be two inches smaller than I was when I weighed 15 lbs lighter in high school! I haven't been keeping up with my running, but I don't think I'm going to bother, since it's been raining so much and heavy squats 3x a week is pretty much shredding my legs.
  7. Thank you for this link! I have seen this happen to myself several times, knew it was happening, but didn't know the "how"s or the "why"s. Good to know!
  8. I still get comments from people about this. The other day we had a global technology meeting (took all day) and got looks because I stood the whole time. Once you get used to it, it's surprising how much easier it is to "do stuff" after work. I think sitting down drains the life out of you.
  9. I did the science and concluded that Spezzy's metabolic system consumes Iron and excretes Awesome.
  10. I know how this is. When people snatch my glasses, they're taken aback with the weight. I'm certain I have massive neck muscles because of this. Does not make you old!
  11. Hit the weight room this afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I signed up for a 3 month membership, so let's hope that motivates me to stick with it (one of my biggest weaknesses).
  12. Mondays are my measurement days, so a Mon-Sun is how I keep track of my progress.
  13. I don't care what place you came in. These pictures make you a winner in my book.
  14. My weekend was pretty dull. Didn't workout (usually don't on weekends) and even cheated once when I was out and super hungry and super craving some pizza. Also, I think I smoked about 32 cigarettes over the weekend. Not good. I did end up reading some of Mark Sisson's blog, and I think I would be more focused and committed to lifting weights. Considering a gym membership and 5x5 program. I think I'll check out the local community center (like 3 blocks from my place) after work.
  15. This is one of my biggest struggles. Eating enough while keeping your carbs minimal is very difficult for me. I've got no advice, so if you find something that works, please help a brother out.
