  1. Forgot about our church picnic today, meaning I have been out and about ever since I got home on Friday afternoon. Phew. I did go kayaking today, though! So I'll count that as something Stretching tonight, and hopefully I'll get in a bike ride tomorrow
  2. Haha I know how that is. And... congrats!!

  4. How'd it go? I know how it is to be slow. My usual pace is a plodding 14-15 minute mile, heh. But hey, we do it and that's what matters! Thanks for the encouragement, everyone! And ChristArtist - you have joined the list as only the third person ever to call me beautiful. You actually made me cry when I read the email while sitting on a plane <3 Ugh, I was hoping to get some exercise in yesterday and today but I'm exhausted. It took me over 24 hours to get home from my Utah trip because my flight from New York City to my home on the other side of New York (it's only an hour from take-off to touchdown but better than a 7 hour drive or train ride) was canceled... It never ceases to amaze me how exhausting flying and airports can be. Thankfully the airline (Delta) put us all up in hotels for free and I got a little rest. Still beat, though. Part of it is probably getting used to the air again. Going from crazy humid to dry back to crazy humid. Heh.
  5. Thanks! I posted a few pics in the general thread Headed back to NY (from Utah) tomorrow so I'll be back on the exercise train on Friday
  6. Thanks, everyone! Sorry for the delayed thanks... I actually did this tri while on vacation visiting my friend for a week, so I haven't really been around. I wanted to share a couple pictures from the race with you! Post bike: Soooo clooooooseeeee! Look how happy/relieved/exhausted I looked!
  7. Well, I did it! 2:14:46 (this is overall, so includes transitions which, putting on knee braces when wet is a lengthy process...). It's slow, but I finished!! For some reason they chopped off part of the bike course, so it ended up only being 10 miles. I'm not sure on my official times (I'll update you when I can) but according to my RunKeeper, my bike was around 58 minutes and my run (which was walked because I had NOTHING left in my tank - I wanted to die) was 53. Yeaaaaaaaaah... I'm just so damn proud of myself that I broke down and cried. This girl who is 240 pounds, has fibromyalgia, and whose kneecaps dislocate just finished a freaking triathlon! :D

  9. AHHHHHH triathlon in the morning!!! *scared sh*tless face*
  10. Oh I'm well aware, but found it to be interesting nonetheless and thought others might feel the same.
  11. Just wanted to throw this out there. Take it or leave it, it's an interesting read: "Running more than FOUR miles a day could damage your health - especially if you've had a heart attack" http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2724144/Running-FOUR-miles-day-damage-health-especially-youve-heart-attack.html
  12. I like to have a couple eggs. Haven't ever had a problem, but I only ever run in the morning when I have a race. I do all my training mid-day/evenings because I despise mornings
  13. With my triathlon coming up on Saturday, I decided to push myself today and did a 15.69 mile (25.25 km) ride. I know it's not far compared to some of you guys, but I'm quite proud of myself. Furthest I've ever ridden!! (no, I was not that consistent in my speed - had to enter it manually because for some reason my app screwed up and didn't save the activity. Thankfully I caught my exact duration prior to it disappearing)
  14. Wish I had been able to do today's ride yesterday
  15. Hehe it's ok! I have a few people who keep asking me when my marathon is instead of my triathlon, so I'm used to it I chuckled... I ended up going my long route today. SO PROUD OF MYSELF!!
