  1. I workout alone honestly. Even when I go with someone, he or she goes off and does their own thing and I do the same.
  2. So you guys were right. After a week, my back is feeling back to normal

  4. Yea it's first time. I found something warning against rounding my back and that may have something to do with it. If you don't think that's possible to injure myself, then it must be muscle soreness.
  5. So I started doing deadlifts last Tuesday(70lbs) and the next day, lower back was sore. Same thing Thursday and even today, it is still sore.(Probably shouldn't have done deadlifts while sore ) It doesn't feel like a muscle pain though and that's what has me worried. I plan to stay off deadlifts until my back feels better(I do plan to work on my form in the mean time) but for anyone else who has dealt with this, how long did it take for the the pain to go away?

  7. I asked one of the football coaches. The only barbells are smith machines. Nothing free. And its legit school sports. Football, basketball, baseball etc.

  9. They should really add the shmoney dance to this game. Destiny is pretty amazing to me. I have it for PS3 and the gamer tag is Fluidmorph654. I don't usually do multiplayer cause I'm a bit of a lone wolf but I would be willing to try. The other games I usually play are the Assassin's Creed games (2 through Freedom Cry. Plan to get Liberation and Rouge soon)
  10. Honestly the only use for it lol. I've still got a long way before i reach the limit. I'm progressing slower than I hoped but I am on a deficit. And maybe I should start practicing on doing pull ups because I've never been able to do one before.
  11. So in a nut shell, my university gym is like Planet Fitness (mostly smith machines with some free dumbbells) with less pizza. I'm broke, my school is in the middle of scenic No Where, TX and the nearest gym is 20- 30 miles down the highway so no gym memberships. They have another, more fully stocked weight room but its for athletes only. I was able to work around this and put together a workout plan based on the free dumbbells alone but they only go up to 50-55lbs. Monday/Wednesday/Friday its: Dumbbell Squats-3x12 Dumbbell Bench Press-3x12 One Arm Dumbbell Rows-3x12 Dumbbell De

I'm broke, my school is in the middle of scenic No Where, TX and the nearest gym is 20- 30 miles down the highway so no gym memberships.   14. I look for healthy alternatives and stock up on them. 100 calorie chocolate almonds, sunflower seeds, beef jerky. Easily found at walmart But at the end of the day, it all comes down to serious self control. When I'm alone with my food and I'm stressed out doing HW, its hard not to just scarf everything down at once. The snacks should be a safety net in case you snap.

  17. Yea I used to be that kind of person that wasn't willing to even go the regular mile much less the extra. Takes time to shake off but nothing worth having comes easy I guess.
  18. And its meaning. Can relate to anything in life or about life itself. What simple, small thing do you tell yourself that keeps you focused and motivated? Mine is "Worry about yourself"-(People tell me this is my catchphrase) It helps to remind me not to compare myself to other people and do what I need to do, not what others think I should do. The less I worry about this girl is making these grades, this guy is making this money and getting the girl who makes the grades, this old man can bench my extended family etc, the better I start to feel about myself.
  19. I'm downtown in an extremely busy metropolitan area sooo it kind of explains itself. And if the sun isn't out then its still dark.
  20. No fridges and I'm too far from home to go back and forth everyday. We can't eat inside the Rice dining hall either
  21. I have no idea why this never crossed my mind before. So I'm doing this Summer Medical and Dental Education Program (SMDEP) at the Texas Medical Center for the next six weeks and my schedule is packed. We are staying in the Rice University dorms BUT we are not allowed to use their Rec center and weight room. We have to go to the one in the Medical Center...which is an hour's walk away. I prefer in the mornings but I might be able to make concessions for the afternoon. They let us go at 5PM, gym closes at 10PM but the shuttles stop running at 8PM and even then, according to the medical an
  22. Well it gets extremely frustrating because I feel like I still have an enormously long way to go. Or do I? Again I can't seem to tell. Without clothes, I look and feel no different. Even when I look at old pictures, even when I run into people from high school (this one guy's jaw dropped) no matter how many old shirts I try on. I feel like I'm nowhere close to where I want to be. The scale can drop as much as it wants and I won't see a difference. It's been months and nothing has changed. It's been made apparent the best thing to trust is your eyes and pictures but I can't even trust that.
