I accepted a job offer and I'm moving! Steve, if you're reading this, you were my inspiration to accept this job--I've wanted to leave for a while now, in fact in my epic goals I have included a "live out of state for three months", but didn't think it was possible. Now....no idea how to find an apartment and all that logistical stuff, but I've accepted the job!

Anyone have any experience with brain injuries?
CalvinHobbes replied to Savychacha's topic in Rebel Army Base Camp
No experience, but terribly sorry about what you're going through *more hugs* -
Hello everyone!
-
Ahh I'm graduating in ComCol this semester too! Thesis is murdering me.
-
Haha, exactly my plan. Just strange that I don't notice hunger anymore!
-
Hey, I'm taking the Kaplan course too! My college actually bought it for us, so I didn't even have to pay for it! Good luck with your challenge as well!!

Huge IF fail today--I started ate breakfast around 12, went to the library to work on my final papers....I look up, it's 8:00 and my eating window is over. Whoops!

Race: open to suggestions Profession: Ranger Age: 22 Height: 5’8†Weight + Other Measurements: Unable to assess--no scale/tape measure here, took pictures but far too self conscious to post! Sorry! My weight last time I checked was somewhere around 155, could be higher or lower, but not by much I’d guess. CURRENT STATS STR: 2 DEX: 2 STA: 2 CON: 3 WIS: 3 CHA: 3 FITNESS -Run a 5k in less than 30 minutes (reach) (STA +4) I haven’t tried to run a 5k in a while. No idea where I’m at, but we’ll find out. I want to push myself—I know I ran one in about 33 a few years back but I think I can do better. -1 pull up + 30 push ups (STR + 3, STA + 1) Been a goal for a while now, I can get there. I can feel it. This is the challenge. -Continue to eat real food + IF + track (CON +2) -I will allow myself eight cheat days throughout the challenge, but they must not all come in the same time. Why eight? Well, here’s a list of important dates: May 3—bar crawl with my class (pathetic I know) May 4—commencement ball May 11/12—graduation ceremonies May 17—NF meet up! May 26—grad party So, a list of six days I am almost guaranteed to cheat. I’m also giving myself two extra days as a cushion. Don’t anticipate needing them though. *Note-I haven’t included any specific CrossFit goals, because I’m not sure where I’ll be headed with life. I have a few options, such as moving across the country, moving back home, or going to grad school. I have no idea which I'll take. LIFE (+3 WIS, +2 CHA if all are accomplished) -THIS WEEK: Finish all work, graduate, no matter how long it takes. -NEXT WEEK: Attend all NCLEX review courses -FOLLOWING WEEKS: Study for 3+ hours a day. +1 for me if I can get signed up for the boards and pass., but that’s out of my control.

Great job! And happy birthday!

If you click on the IF calculator there's a spot where you can adjust how much protein you're getting--either 1g/lb bodyweight or 3g/kg, make sure you're clicking the one you want. Personally I'm doing 1g/lb bodyweight as opposed to 3g/kg.

I'm still in school and work some overnights, so I understand. The way I'm going to fast is based on my sleep/wake cycles--eat __ hours after rising in order to gain some consistency.
-
I'm scared of bailing. Definitely have to practice it...a lot...for when I don't have a spotter.
-
I just put my sweet potato on a scale....475 grams. HA. I knew it was big, but didn't realize it'd be 4x the amount MFP says. Glad this got posted, thanks guys Back to what Anivair said--I'm low on protein too. Suggestions?
-
I got the same numbers with MFP.

I started this morning. Where I am I don't have a scale or even a tape measure, so sadly I won't be able to track progress and see results like Kishi did in one week, but it's all good. I didn't have any trouble waiting until noon to break my fast--it was almost more natural than cooking as soon as I woke up. I worked out last night with my CrossFit trainer how I can have 3 full rest days a week. Only thing I didn't plan--I haven't purchased BCAAs. Gonna order it today, hopefully will be here by next week. Does everyone work out fasted? I have a crazy schedule sometimes so I'm not sure that it'll be possible to always work out fasted--most of the time it will be though.

Of course you're welcome here! This is probably the most welcome place I've ever been.. For push-ups, I started off not able to do any either, and like, 2 on my knees, but they were terrible. Steve posted a while back http://nerdfitness.com/blog/2011/02/15/proper-push-up/ which explains a progression to doing push-ups (this page is where I actually found NF). I started right at the beginning with wall pushups, then incline, etc., and have really seen progress. Not sure about the ab exercise you're talking about, sorry!
-
I had this problem as well--I've dropped the weight back for a few sessions (but my 1RM is a lot lower than where you are), had to ditch the ball too. I went back up to heavy weights last night actually and was more successful. At CrossFit they think I might have been more successful because I got back to being comfortable at the lower weights and I've been doing MWODs.

Noooo I haven't found which guild I'm completely in! I like them all!

Question I just thought of: Would CrossFit count as a working out day or a rest day? Starting with the next challenge I plan on doing some lifting outside of CF like 3 days a week. Absolutely!

Hey, Dubai sounds cool--hope to make it there one day. Sounds like an awesome trip!
