  1. Good Afternoon, I have the same problem, the only thing I found that works for me is keeping a small bag of hard candy around. Usually after dinner while cleaning up or doing dishes I'll ween myself from the craving by chomping on a few starlight mints (Hard peppermint Candy). Also make sure to have a cheat day where if you feeling like having a cupcake or something of the like, you can. Maybe try planning for it and cutting back on other sweets that day (coffee creamer, candy, soda's, etc.) Hope that helps, and as always good luck and godspeed. v/r
  2. Good Afternoon, 1. Thrusters that lead into a squat then back to the starting position. (Sorry don't know the name of the move itself.) 2. Brupee's 3. Running
  3. Good Afternoon, Great topic and here is my memoir, I grew up in low income housing for most of my child and teenage years and I was the scrawny, small kid with the coke bottle glasses. I dreaded going to school and was often prey while on transit to school. It didn't matter if I walked or rode the bus, I would catch an ass whoopin from the other cliques almost on sight, it was sport to these mouth breathers. Some days i got away and some days I just wasn't fast enough. I started taking the proverbial long way home after getting beat down by a group of kids and my only saving grace was a gentleman stopping his car an pulling the kids off of me then threating to call the police. I was pathetic.. One day taking the long way home I stumbled into a group a guys and instead of reenacting the gazelle and lion chase on "Wild Kingdom" they introduced themselves and acted like human beings. Come to find out, one of the guys father was a self defense instructor and they were on their way back home from class. Long story short I got to know them real well and they took me under their wing. They taught me that I didn't have to be a victim, the value of martial arts, training your body and mind, and what it means to be contributing human being not some animal. When ever I need motivation I think about that scrawny kid, that victim. Their is no way that's going to happen again. Now that I have a wife and child, it just adds to my motivation. What if in their time of need i can't help them, this is my greatest fear and thus my greatest fuel. Just my two cents..
  4. Good Morning, Awesome topic by the way and If I had to choose a few "Theme Songs" they would have to be Remember the Name by Fort Minor I Cant Stop by Flux Pavilion Momentum By Masai Under and Over it by Five Finger Death Punch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWi7ZtAnIbY Whispers By All that Remains. Good Luck and Godspeed
  5. Good Morning, This is just my two cents... I agree with Tanuki, just politely decline the chips and combat those urges the best you can. For healthy snack options I would start slow and small. How about fruit and Greek yogurt to dip. Another option maybe soybeans sprinkled with sea salt, or Microwavable popcorn (light to non buttered) and sprinkle Nori Rice flavoring (Nori Komi Furikake) on it while still in the bag and shake well. The Rice seasoning should be found in the ethnic aisle at your local supermarket. Don't be afraid to experiment and be creative. I usually take Sardines in a can or Tuna Salad for a snack but because of the stench I would try and gauge how this may affect your coworkers. http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Salt-and-Pepper-Edamame-Soybeans-in-the-Pod-102723 Good Luck and Godspeed.
  6. Good Morning, I would definitely do an equipment check on your trainers. Depending on what type of surface you normally run on and how many days you run a week, it could definitely affect the life of your shoe and you. I usually purchase a new pair of running shoes every six months, but this is due to the fact that I normally run on black top or concrete three days a week at an excess of two miles. Look for: Compression wrinkles at the mid sole of the shoe. If you see any I would say they are worn out. Check the Bottom Tread, If its worn unevenly at any spot I would say they are worn out. I'm not sure about the calf but if your feet started off feeling fine and are suddenly becoming sore they might be worn out. Good Luck and Godspeed.
  7. When I want them clean. Not in a washing machine obviously but with a mild disinfectant spray, wipe down, and let out to air dry. I wouldn't want to be know as "the cheese feet guy."
  8. Good Afternoon, I recently finished re-reading Marvels Age of Apocalypse series and now I'm moving onto House of M and then Messiah Complex.
  9. "When some wild eyed eight foot tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks ya crooked in the eye and he asks you if you've paid your dues...Well you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye and you remember what old Jack Burton always says at a time like that. Have you paid your dues, Jack? Yes, Sir, the check is in the mail." -Jack Burton

      MogiShade

Ahahaha! I love that movie, just watched it again a few weeks ago!

  10. Good Morning, While at the gym its all about attitude, so its simple I usually don my black under armor apparel and a good black running shoe. Although you can always tell when its laundry day because I enter the gym with my Venom T-shirt (black with white emblem), a dark blue pair of shorts, and usually my broke in electric blue running shoes. You know its hard to have a stone "game face" with no color coordination and shoes so bright it would make the Cool Aid Man blush.
  11. Good Afternoon, When needing a quick pick-me-up during my regimen I always think of a state of panic. For example when I'm running and I'm starting to fatigue badly "I envision a loved one hurt or in a car wreck, your cell phone is not working and no one is around. You have to make it to that call box or gas station because their life depends on you!" I do the same when lifting, When that fatigue sets in "I envision pulling off wreckage or debris from a loved one because no one else is going to save them." Not being able to perform when a loved one needs me the most is one of my greatest fears and thus my greatest fuels. Just my two cents.. Good Luck and Godspeed
  12. Good Morning, Although I'm not sure what type of exercise regimen you are on, these few songs help me tremendously when I am running or finishing my last work set of lifting. "Whispers" By All that remains (Hardcore) "The Bleeding" by Five Finger Death Punch (Hardcore) "Under and Over It" by Five Finger Death Punch (Hardcore) "Above the Law" by Bad Meets Evil (Rap) "Stop Being Greedy" by DMX (Rap) Good luck and Godspeed!

  14. Good Morning All, Let me start off with my name is Brandon and I’ve very blessed with a beautiful wife and a healthy 2yr old son. I guess I’ve always been into fitness and a healthier lifestyle, but something seemed to happen when I left the military. I was fanatical with my fitness regimen while in, but when came home I just didn’t care much about my physical appearance or ability anymore. I binged and instead of expressing myself to my wife, I became reclusive and delved into video games as an escape. Anyway my point is, I gained twenty pounds right off the bat and felt like a pariah. It’s lasted that way for a few years but for the last year and a half I have been doing my best to change. I owe it to my family and I have to reach a certain fitness level to stay qualified for my new job. Why I am here, 1. I want discuss and learn more about better diet options such as the Paleo. I’m still having trouble losing the jelly that used to be my abs. 2. I would like to gain a better spiritual (not religious) mindset while training. Honestly since I went back to the gym it just seems like I leave work for work. It’s too mechanical… 3. I would really enjoy discussing and learning new fitness regimens and accepting new challenges. 4. I want to give support to anyone that may need it, because I know just how far that rabbit hole goes. My current regimen is an amalgamation of some different programs and being performed 3 Days a Week. If your looking for something new and challenging please feel free to try it. 2 Mile run 8 min pace. (Try not to pass out or Sh!t myself) The three pyramids: Do all three starting with a rep of 5, 10, 15, 20, 15, 10, 5. 45lbs Kettle Bell Swing Chalice Squats Pushups (Try not to hurl on equipment or nearby gym members) 2 sets of 10 Thrusters 2 sets of 10 Bench Press 2 sets of 10 Pull Ups 2 sets of 10 Dips Some type of abs work Thank you and I look forward to being a part of your community.
