  1. Do you have a picture of them? Read about them in a recipe but have no clue what they are xD Oh how I envy you all with your fancy american veggies.... The most exotic thing here are nashi pears.
  2. Inked, I'm always skeptical about science results from animal tests especially if it's not made great apes. Think about the Contagan-issue saramay, my favorite protein source EVER are edamame beans. Could eat them like I formerly ate pistachios.... means inhale all of them xD You might find them in the Asia section of your supermarket or in an Asian import shop.

  5. I just LOOOOVE your story line. ItÅ› really cute and exciting and a little sad! Wow, you did a 5K this early in the challenge? I couldn't even think about it. I have troubles with some stretching exercises for the legs too. Seems like my favorite way of sitting ( on leg bend under) isn't so good Keep it going!
  6. You rock! I too don't want to wait for the next challenge to start and I have nearly the same measurements as you have. I definitely need to do some strength training too in the upcoming challenges. How do you want o incorporate more fruit and veggies? More quantity or more variety?
  7. Yes I did it! We just bought sparkling water hence we had too much to carry for soda I think *laugh* But boy, these water bottles are freaking heavy! We carried home a 6 pack 1,5l (~ 50 US ounces) bottles, the supermarket is just a 5 min walk away from your home, so we always carry home our groceries. We were used to drink water from the faucet but recently we recognized some issues after drinking it, so it might be the water isn't so good any more. Maybe some residues in the pipes.... All in all: No soda at home which means no soda will be drunken. Yeah!

Really hold me back from snacking, when I was not hungry. +1 2.)Take the stairs instead of the elevator (exception: after grocery shopping) Yesterday was grocery shopping day. So no points here. 3.)Take the 30-days yoga challenge. Did it ! +1 May 11th: Just started but I just finished my daily yoga video today. +1 I really have to admit, that the Downward Dog is my nemesis right now! And I have no strength at all in my arms.

  11. Taniku, you are my heroine (female hero- heroine just sound so wrong! Oo) I can't do that at the moment, I really have an ill temper and would have be very much not nice to someone how would tell me things like your boyfriend did. Basically, this is what happens to me all the time I try to do something sportive with my boyfriend. He's not very fit, but used to walk way faster than me! Really a big trouble if we do grocery shopping or walking or catching the bus/train whatever. He says it hurts to walk as slowly as I do (some back issues). Riding the bike is basically the same. But if you do something together, you don't need to do all things together. I adopted his love for WoW ( and boy, am I hooked on this) and he plays the What-if game with me. (What if we had the money to build a house right now and walking trough IKEA looking at furniture that meets our taste or not and talking about it) I still am struggling with said tempo issue and some other things to discuss are always there but to me you don't HAVE a happy relationship, you are constantly WORKING on your happy relationship. It's not a gift you deserve it's the prize of the effort you put into it.

I managed the first temptation yesterday, a collegue of my boyfriend came over and we bought some drinks ( because we usually just have tea and water at home and his collegue likes sticky drinks). Usually we would buy a cola and mix it with our favorite alcohol (another thing I'll work on after... no more alc) BUT we didn't buy cola. We took ourselves a beer each which is not ideal either, I know. When my boyfriend asked if we buy a cola for a "mixture" as we used to refer to it I told him I don't drink it anymore. He was really surprised and made a skeptical comment about me becoming healthy or what. But that's okay, it's new to him, out of the comfort zone. I think sooner or later he will join me. But today there will be the real challenge! The weekly grocery shopping! Wish me discipline!

  16. Ever thought about Thunderbird or Opera mail? It checks your mail every 5 min and gives you an alert, when you got mail. A little nostalgic.... a little like in the movie "You've Got Mail"
  17. Thank you very much! I'll check that out alongside with the youtube channel TaraStiles. The neat thing about the 30 days yoga challenge is that you get the videos emailed every day and you have a 10-20 min "workout" ready for you. I like that for starters

This shall be for me to collect my future goals or things to try: - start geocaching - learning about emotional brain training - learn to be more patient - reduce and ultimately stop being quick tempered/choleric - stop procrastinating!!! - Vegetable alphabet! - Reduce my bodyfat % from 40(?) to 25% (measured with tape measurement method from this website) - start "Zombie, Run!" edit: I think I did something wrong in the first measuring of body fat percentage.... with the stats from the first weight in it says 33% (see attached picture). Will check in the next weeks to see, what it does and then we'll see. Week 2 weight-in says 32.51% body fat. By the way... my goal measurements(weight 75 kg, waist 75 cm, hips 102 cm) give me a 24.22% body fat according to the calculator... so it's a pretty realistic goal. Tape measurements seem a quite unstable method to track the progress but for now it has to be enough.
  19. Sadly, I just found this message board 3 days ago, so I am way too late for the current challenges. But as Latniss suggested I' ll do this as a practice challenge and dive in the next challenge when it starts. Better late than never! Main goal: Drop 2 dress sizes and get in the habit of exercising On the picture there are my current and my goal weight from the time where I had 2 dress sizes less. I intend to lose 10 cm in all measurements. Challenges: 1.) Keeping a food log (I tend to snack mindlessly) A-6+ days/week B - 5 days /week C - 4 days/week F- less than 4 days/week 2.)Take the stairs instead of the elevator (exception: after grocery shopping) A- 5 days/week B- 4 days/week C-3 days/week F- less than 3 days/week 3.)Take the 30-days yoga challenge. It's said to be even for beginners. (Will continue till the beginning of the next challenge) A-completed 25-30 days B-completed 20-25 days C- completed 15-20 days F- less than 14 days 4.) Find a real yoga class to attend every second week. win/fail I know it is essential to have a real course to learn the movements correct but have difficulties to find the right course. So I want to try one course every week and have the right one at the end of the challenge. Measurements: Bust: 102 cm waist: 82 cm Hip: 114 cm Let's see what these weeks bring.

  22. Thank you very much. I'm not quite sure yet where to take yoga classes. The university programms are cheap but overcrowded and free classes are rare, most of the time you require to buy a gym membership here in Berlin. While I research my options I want to start with some introductional videos on youtube, but aim for a real course where I can be sure that I learn the movements right.

  25. Hello fellow nerds! I'm new here, obviosly.... *sigh* Okay, let's try again ^^ I'm Katzchen from Germany, 26 years of age, college student and I like to sew and love play WoW. Before college and meeting my boyfriend, I've been about 15 kg lighter then now and I want to look as fabulous as I looked back then. But as weight isn't most important I want to messure my progress in centimeters lost all around my body. Main quest: Lose 10 cm in all messurements/ 2 cloth sizesStart yoga for fitness and mind There are other things I want to accomplish too. I eat pretty clean, most of the time cook myself, for I'm vegetarian I eat a fairly good amount of veggies, drink lots of water but I fail at sodas (especially at the weekends with whiskey or other alkohol) and Ben and jerrys icecream. Sometimes I'm too lazy to cook and we order things. Things, not food! Side quest: Skip soda and store brought icecreamPlan and precook my meals so I don't order when I'm lazyMake half of my plate being veggiesLearn to do correct push ups and plankStop procastinating!I'm kind of easy to tease and often I get angry very fast. Then I'm not a nice person to be with. I want to change that! Also I want to stop procastinating!
