  1. So, it's been a slow couple of days to start my challenge, as something serious prevented me from competing the four hours of walking on Sunday... Football. Uh. Yeah. My realtor buddy and I totally crapped out on door knocking because it was 95F offside and NFL football was on, so we ended up at a Mexican restaurant watching football and brainstorming business planning over queso fundido and margaritas. I ended up having three drinks that day. GRRRR! Today's tasks: - no alcohol - make 20 contacts for work - interval row for 30m when I get home
  2. I'm here!!! It's the first day of the challenge!!! Yay! Today, I'm going to do a bunch of walking (4 hours of door knocking for real estate business), and will NOT BUY MYSELF ICE CREAM AS A REWARD. I say this in all caps because it is so me to do something like pat myself on the back by buying a quart of ice cream and downing it all by myself over one or two days as a "reward" for hard work done. Not today! Tomorrow, I'm going to: - Go to Bikram yoga - Make 15+ contacts at work
  3. Great goals! Following As for the free weights in public fear, try going at a time when there are fewer purple in the gym for the first few sessions. Then, when you're feeling more confident, it won't matter so much to you whether there as people around, or not.
  4. Thanks for the tips! I'll call more than 2 servings of either a binge for the purposes of this challenge. I think that others might have different definitions, but this is my version! Thanks for the reminder [emoji2] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  5. No worries about length - this is YOUR thread. Do what you want! Thanks for the story about willpower. We all could you use reminders about the power of saying no. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  6. Thanks! I'm heading in to hot yoga this morning, and am determined to smash the rest of my goals, too! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  7. This sounds great! Following Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  8. Hi, everyone - I'm Redpuma aka Quinn. This is like my fourth time back in Level 1, but this time I'm sure that I can make it work for me. I have evidence! I did jump in for the last week of the prior challenge and kicked that week's butt. Also... I've been making a little progress in my life goals over the past month, so I'm feeling motivated and encouraged to keep up the good work. Super-Big Goal: Complete SoCal Spartan Sprint on May 18th, 2018. This Challenge's Goal: Door knock (I'm a real estate agent) 200 houses in one weekend to collect blankets and coats for the homeless without giving up in exhaustion. FITNESS goal 1 -- Increase endurance by attending Bikram yoga class 3+ times per week. FITNESS goal 2 -- Increase stamina by interval cardio 2+ times per week. DIET goal 3 -- No ice cream or alcohol binges. Moderation! WORK goal 4 -- Make 80+ contacts per week via phone or in person. Grow that business!!! //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// I've decided that I'm going to warm up to my challenge a little early by soft starting this week. Wish me luck! 9. This is great! I look forward to seeing you kick this challenge's butt! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  10. Okay. I drank more water yesterday. I think I got my 8 cups in. I'll keep better count today. I'm going in to Bikram yoga again today! I've decided to shoot for four times this week. Why not? The first two happened, after all. Now... If only I'd meditate more regularly... Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  11. Bahahahahaha! I accomplished one of my smaller goals! I went to Bikram yoga again, thus making it through the hot hot heat two times! Yes [emoji2] I [emoji122] did [emoji108]! I also made it to 10 knee pushups. W00t! The meditation and water drinking aren't quite there, yet, though. No biggie. I can keep trying and then add them in again to my next challenge. 12. Some good advice that I received was to take a step toward a goal within 24 hours of making that goal and writing it down. First you need a goal. I recommend choosing something from your list that's easier to work on, so that you might see more success faster. Hiking Playing Guitar Martial Arts Hiking, for example, is just walking! I mean, it depends on the difficulty of the trail as to how challenging and complicated that it becomes as a sport. An example goal with hiking would be to choose a moderate difficulty trail in your area (say... within a 40m drive) and write down that you are going to complete that hike by June 1st, 2018. Next, you write down some things that one would do to work toward that goal: - walk 30m - hike an easy trail - do yoga for balance and joint strength - increase stamina for hills with interval exercise - 2m slow walking, 1 minute jogging for 30m Basically, pick the easiest thing in your list that you could take action on tomorrow. Commit to doing it. Boom. The first step has been taken. You could do this with any of your interests. Even free running starts somewhere. Just some thoughts and service that had worked for me in the past. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

  14. So... I did go to Bikram yoga yesterday. Holy crap, was that hard! I almost quit, once somewhere around triangle pose. I have to give myself a post on the back for making it through all 90 minutes. Whew! I'm heading back on Wednesday, for sure. I need to get more flexible and lose some of this weight! As for the other smaller goals... Ummm... I'll work on those today. I didn't exactly remember to do any of them yesterday, even though I JUST posted this thread! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  15. Hi, PixiePrincessPea - I'm also about 100 lbs overweight. I just went to hot yoga for the first time in like 10 years, today. So hard! But I did it. How's it going with your walking and the boxes? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  16. Honestly, I've got so many pounds to push up right now! It's tough [emoji15] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  17. So, I'm going to Bikram this morning. I've done it before, ages ago, back when my belly didn't get in my way. That was ages ago, though. Why am I going? I'm inflexible and I'm not gonna take it anymore. And I once loved Bikram, so I hope that I can again. Anyway, it's a 9am - 10:30am class. Probably gonna feel like puking at least once, but I know I'll make it. It's yoga. I can do this! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  18. [emoji41][emoji41][emoji41][emoji41][emoji41][emoji41][emoji41][emoji41] Hey everybody, it's me, Redpuma. I'm strolling in late to class with my pizza on order, arriving fashionably, fashionably late. I just want to start now, rather than wait until the next challenge. As I mentioned in my thread title, THIS IS A RESPAWN. It's my second respawn, actually. Let's keep things simple, shall we? Big Goal /////////////// Be able to complete 10 knee pushups. Smaller Goal 1 /////////////// * Go to Bikram yoga twice. Smaller Goal 2 /////////////// * Progressively do more knee pushups they morning, starting with 5. Smaller Goal 3 /////////////// * Drink 8 glasses of water a day. Smaller Goal 4 /////////////// * Meditate 5+ minutes, 4x. Glad to meet you all! Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  19. Yes, your post was a bit heavy, but that's okay! I am bipolar and an just coming out of a super huge depressive episode laden with tons of anxiety. So, yeah - I'm okay with your heavy post. My initial advice is that you be kind to yourself. It's a good thing that you have some areas of interest, even if you're not sure how out whether you'd like to get started. It's something. On my group therapy, the advice with doing anything while super-depressed is to pick the easiest thing to do and then the three first steps you could take to go on that path. Then pick the easiest of those steps and make a plan to do it. Don't know if that helps or just seems condescending. Hopefully, it's not the latter. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  20. ARGH about to lose my mind

  21. I had the same issue with my attempt at a challenge, last year. I'm pretty sure that I quit at the 4 week point and then used a series of excuses to avoid trying another challenge until now. Best wishes with your goals! I'll see you in the forums.
  22. Totally excited to get my KB swings on after work. That's about 9 hours from now, but at least I have fun exercise to look forward to!

  23. Went home to eat lunch. Made perfect sandwich. Wasp flies into my apartment and proceeds to terrorize me, forcing me to fling my sandwich at said wasp. Upside? Killed wasp. Downside? I don't want to talk about it.

    1. Barfly

      Barfly

You ate the sandwich anyway, didn't you? O.o
