  1. It's been going well, the couch to 5k mission was accomplished last Saturday, woot!! Still, this leaves me in the predicament of finding out where I go from here. I'm leaning towards finally making use of my Zombies, Run! app but I don't know if I'm at the point where that would be a good fit yet. Any suggestions?
  2. So due to a friend whom I haven't seen in a while dropping by I skipped yesterday, but this still leaves me in shape to get all my runs and workouts in by Saturday. So, today will be the first 30 minute run of week 9 of couch to 5k. In preparation, I will be imagining "Eye of the Tiger" playing all day.
  3. It's been going great! I've just been adjusting a bit. I've noticed lasting the duration of runs isn't a problem but I slow down a lot more than I need to, so during the 28 minute run I go a little over 2.2 miles. I want to start trying for a slightly faster pace during the later part of the run. Body weight training is also going pretty well. I've tweaked the beginners body weight workouts so that I do more push ups and dumb bell rows. My legs still yell at me a bit but it's getting easier.
  4. Thanks! I hear you about abhorring structure, but I think I needed a little just as a starting point and having a program seemed like a good foot in the door. I love it! It's been going well! Running I thought this week would be more of a challenge since it's the first week without breaks between runs, but while I wouldn't quite say it's easy it's kinda weird comparing how much easier it's gotten >.> and I sorta want to work up to the advanced body weight workout, but I can't quite do the one-legged squats yet >.< Oooooh I'm working towards it slowly but surely, I got far too happy when I realized there was a batman version.... Everything is awesome! Not quite my-world-is-made-of-legos awesome, but pretty close I prefer loius Baton, having a compan- I MEAN fighting crime, pays well. #I'mbadatpuns
  5. Hiya! Sorry it's been a bit. I've actually been going pretty well, the sometimes it feels like the days between runs drags. I think I've been going a ~2.2 miles each time now It's been going great! I've started tweaking the body weight workout, mainly more pushups and a longer plank. Legs still aren't my strongest asset but they're getting better and I like it! The bodyweight workout is definitely easier to stick with than other things I've tried. Don't think I saw that blog, I'll have to hunt it down. ....you..... you may have added the single most motivating song in my run playlist.
  6. I'm in! Also, I've been using an android app called Get Running, anyone know much about it? Pretty straightforward and useful, but it doesn't give any statistics or anything that I can see, which would be nice. Feel like pace could use improvement sometimes.
  7. Thanks for the kind words lads! I may have been too dismissive of pajamas, I'll reconsider Thanks for the advice, I'll have to look around for it and give it a try, I'm not too opposed to substituting a habit with a better one. Is this something you can find at any old grocery store? Much appreciated! I like the goals of the group, particularly the wearing more black I had no idea there was a zombies version... that sounds so much cooler o.o but I'll check out the AB groups, I could probably use the help, thanks!
  8. Main Mission (been on a sci-fi binge so mission sounds cooler to me right now) Nothing overly ambitious here. I want to adopt a healthier lifestyle so that I can attend meetings of a judo club at my school without dying. Attending these meetings in a cape is optional. Victory Conditions Complete the Couch to 5k running plan (at week 4 now) Complete the Beginner's Body Weight Workout 3x a week Limit soda consumption to 1 a day (Oh Sprite you limey siren, I'll miss you)Life Quest Learn how to develop android apps so I can make shiny pixelated joy shoot out of my phone. Motivation I've attempted to adopt a regular workout plan before but they were a little ill-conceived and always fell by the way side. I want one I can stick with permanently, call this a test drive. And, maybe, if I can get to a point where I stop remembering a comedian's joke about his belly jiggling when he brushes his teeth when I take my shirt off to go in a pool that'd be nice too. This is not so much an actual physical issue as a mental one.
