As of 1/30 Squat 160 5x5 Deads 205 1x5. 1 out of 3 challenges completed. Hopeing to finish the squats this week. I got frustrated for a while since I thought I was stalling but I'm back in. Not sure I'll get close on the weight loss goal but I am determined to get my squats!
  2. Thanks for the help! Ice Creme fitness also sounds like a good choice. I think I will stick with the strong lifts and just add in a few accessory excercises each. I think one of my biggest issues is I rarely feel sore after my workouts. So even though I know I struggled getting all my reps in and worked hard the next day I feel like I didnt do anything
  3. Still doing 5x5 for now. Not sure when you are suppose to drop to 3x5. I'm just trying to find something new with more gym time. I am kind of bored with the current routine. Goals are to burn fat and build strength.
  4. Anyone heard of this or tried it? Specifically any women? I've been on StrongLifts for 5-6 weeks now and have loved it and seen great gains (+70# to squats!) but I am about to stall on squats and bench (mostly for lack of spotter). I am trying to find a program to move on to and hopefully add an extra day or two to the gym because I am slightly bored with current routine. My biggest question on PHUL is when and how much to increase weight by, on SL it was all spelled out for you. Any help is appreciated, thanks! Squats 130 5x5 Definitely getting harder and starting to cause some pain in my back. But can't wait for Wednesdays workout since it will be my first big milestone. a 45# plate on each side of the bar. Pretty stoked.

Squats 125 5x5 Deads 165 1x5 I think I will be able to make my goal on the deads but am really starting to think I set my bar too high on the squats. Today's workout was a challenge.

Squatted 120 for 5x5 today. Gained a few pounds from making bad choice the last 2 days. But got right back on track today. I worry my squats are going to stall soon. I've increased 50# in the last month. I know the next few weeks will be a struggle but I just have to remain confident and not think about giving up before I even get to the gym.

Hello, My name is Charlee, I am 24 and live in Maricopa, AZ. I find this challenge to do far be super confusing so I can only hope I am doing this correctly. I am trying to change my lifestyle for the last time id est I don't want to have to start over again. I have begun and I want it to continue. I want to be happy with myself when I look in the mirror and confident in a bikini. I have been working out consistently since December but have been in and out of the gym over the years. I am currently following the stronglifts program and love it (thanks to a suggestion by a rebel) and I follow IIFYM but still eat mostly paleo because I feel better than way. Main Goals: Am I allowed more than 1? Weight 170 Lose 20% Body Fat Deadlift 250# Do a proper pull-up I would love to achieve those by the end of the year. Quest Goals: Squat 175# for 5x5 (current as of 1/05 was 115) Deadlift 205# for 1x5 (current as of 1.0/ was 155) Lose 10 pounds I have no clue what my race is or should be. Anyone have any ideas? I'm pretty sure my profession should be a warrior though as lifting is my favorite and seeing the weights get higher each time keeps me going. So I think that sums it up. Can someone let me know if I missed something? Thanks
  9. The Stronglifts sounds interesting. I think I would feel like I'm not doing enough though. That's why I think I was trying to do so much because I wanted to feel like I was really working hard and spending the hours in the gym.
  10. So I am finally at a place where I have the time and no more excuses to really make a change in my fitness. Goals: Look sexy AF naked. Lift heavy shit. Build muscle, loose fat and increase flexibility. Diet: Paleo Stats: Female. 5'7". 225. Current program: none. I am familiar with the gym though and know what I like doing and what I hate. I also have a general knowledge of what's important to do and what's not. Time is not an issue. I'm looking to spend an hour in the gym 5 days a week lifting. Add hiking and possibly some beginners yoga on the weekends. My general plan is to do a core/auxiliary split which is what I learned in high school weight lifting...I think. MWF will be bench. Squats, deads, overhead press, and bent over row. Mixing it up between DB and BB versions as well as incline and decline on bench. Thinking 3 reps of 7. TT will be more isolated exercises using DB and cable machines. Possibly 3 sets of 10-15. I read that exercises like that you want higher reps, is this true? I plan on sticking with this for roughly 90 days. Then I will mix up the program. Maybe go to some sort of split routine. For now I want to hit as many muscle groups as often as possible. Thoughts? Am I on the right page at least?
  11. Jefit - I can make and save my lifting routines in there, It has a timer for rest period, tells you what you did last session, what your 1RM record is and what your current set 1RM max.
  12. I couldn't agree more! I hate cardio at the gym. Running outside is at least bareable. I hate trying to do cardio at the gym for my warm up. It makes me hate going.
  13. I had the opposite effect. When I took adderall I felt like I could do everything! I had so much motivation. Although at the time I was taking it I wasn't really into working out so it may of had a different effect.
  14. Nor sure if this is the right place to post this, but... Has anyone else noticed it seems like lower body recovers faster than upper body does? Or is that just me. It seems like I can go hard on legs on Monday and be right back at it Wednesday. Where as with arms I need 2-3 days between workouts. My back seems to take longer as well.
  15. Wow! How did you loose 100 pounds? I am in awe. I though the 50 I needed to shed seemed impossible. Any tips and tricks you can share?
