  1. 5/29/2014 Blech. So tired today Breakfast: 2 cups of coffee with Splenda Lunch : Chicken and vegetables ( leftover from dinner yesterday ) Dinner : ... I was so tired today, I went straight to sleep when I got home from work and am just now waking up Approximate calories : 550 Grade : C Exercise: Fitbit steps : about 8000 Went for a short walk during lunch Grade: C It has finally caught up with me. After 3 days of no wine and no late night snacking, I've had a lot of trouble sleeping every night. Today, my body just gave in and what started out as resting a bit on the couch for a minute after sitting in horrendous traffic for 1 1/2 hours, turned into a 6 hour "nap" I'll be leaving town for the weekend for a wedding, so it should be interesting to see how I do the next 3 days.   2. First off... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I hear that tequila is best for you, at about 95 calories per shot. Not really something you can sit and sip, but maybe take a round of shots and order a diet soda/sparkling water with lime for a chaser/something to drink and sip on. Shots of tequila: sounds like the perfect birthday to me, lol! As a side note, sounds like quite a few folks on here (myself included) struggle a bit with alcohol as it pertains to weight loss. Before I dove into this head first, I was totally a "couple of glasses of wine to wind down after work everyday" type person, but quickly realized that was a sacrifice I had to make if I wanted to get somewhere with my weight.   3. I did the reverse (on my way back though!): at my smallest (~160 lbs) I was a solid 36C (hello cheap juniors section bras! How I miss thee). When I gained a ton of weight (went to ~240lbs) I grew to a 38F. I interpret that as my body stores some fat on my ribs/back, and A LOT of fat in my boobs. I would guess that if I continued to pack on the pounds, I would've continued to grow :-( So when I started to lose weight again (I'm at about 205 now), I fully expected to lose several cup sizes, and that's exactly what's happening (thank god I hung on to a lot of my old bras so that I didn't have to do TOO much shopping, cause bras ain't cheap.) It sucks, but it's almost inevitable and you just have to gauge it as you go. I preferred my size when I was smaller, so i kind of look forward to being back to it, but needing to go bra shopping every 25 lbs or so is definitely a pain in the rear.

  5. 5/28/2014 I feel awesome today! Breakfast: 2 cups of coffee with Splenda Lunch: Small bag of trail mix (no time) Dinner: Broccoli, chicken (thigh meat, no skin, leftover from yesterday) peppers, onions and carrots Handful of goldfish crackers (~20) Outside of the crackers, I think I did good! Need to eat a proper lunch tomorrow :-( Approximate calories: 1000 Grade: B+ Exercise: Fitbit steps : about 14000, took a Zumba class during my lunch break Grade: A- Overall, I'm pretty proud of myself today! I definitely have room for improvement. I was full of energy at the beginning of the day, but after the Zumba class I was done! Actually I should say DURING the class I was done. I was so weak, I really struggled about 45 mins in. If I'd planned ahead properly, I would've packed a lunch and eaten before hand. That would've helped a lot. Lesson learned!   7. Ah, I'm sure you did fine! Doesnt mean much until I'm consistent with it, lol! One good day and 3 terrible ones doesnt cut for me at this point, been down that road too many times before...   8. 5/27/2014 Yay! Finally have something that's not totally humiliating to post, lol! Breakfast: 2 cups of coffee with Splenda Whole orange Lunch: Chicken (thigh meat, no skin) and spinach Dinner: Turkey Italian sausage and vegetables (onions, peppers and broccoli) 2 fun sized packs of Skittles (leftover from Easter, had a sweet tooth. Couldn't leave em) Approximate calories: About 1100 Grade: B (could've used more veggies, I think) Exercise : Fitbit steps : about 12000 Went for a rigorous walk for my lunch break (first time using Zombies, run! It was awesome!) Played 20 mins Just Dance Grade B (it was hot today, I took a 10 min break mid walk) Overall grade : B I really tried today. Couldn't bear to have 3 crappy days in a row. Actually I haven't quite figured that out yet :-/ I want to lose weight, that's for sure, I figured I'd try paleo without too much emphasis on calorie counting, cause I hate doing it (I'm keeping a rough estimate just to have some figures to look at when I'll likely hit the point where I'll need more of a regimen). I would think around 1500 should be where I'm aiming, but at the moment it's kind of "eat when you're hungry, stick as closely as you can to paleo when you do" type thing going on.   10. 5/26/2014 Alright, time to rip the bandaid off. It's Memorial Day, didn't do so great, lol Breakfast: 5 mini baby bell cheese wheels Lunch: 2 mini baby bell cheese wheels Asian medley steamed vegetables 1 large salmon filet Dinner: 2 glasses of wine 4 hamburger sliders 2 hotdogs 1 spare rib Ear of corn 1 bottle of powerade 1/2 bottle of peach tea snapped Approximate calories: About 3100 Grade F Exercise: Fitbit steps: about 6000 Log: Did absolutely nothing today. Watched a bunch of tv, extremely sedentary. Just didn't want to do anything but sleep. Very sluggish (diet for the past 3 days was likely the culprit). No excuse, just happened. Grade: F This log is a very good step for me. Although I ate total crap all day, it would've been worse if I didn't plan on announcing it to the world. I've got a lot of work to do go to get on the right track. I found myself questioning if I *really* want this. I do, I just HAVE to do better. I'm waiting for that right kick in the butt to make it hapoen! It's coming, I can feel it. I am the obstacle, the only obstacle, which is the most ironic thing about it. Breakfast: 2 cans of Mountain Dew Lunch: Strawberry Lemonade (2glasses) and Ginger ale Dinner: Gyro wrap and Lemonade, glass of wine Approximate caloric intake: About 1900 Grade F (big fat one) Exercise: Fitbit steps: about 13000. Log: Went to Jazz Festival, walked myself into exhaustion. Its hot today!! No workouts Grade: C- I need to figure out the format of this thing, sheesh. Will be better tomorrow, I promise!   12. This is where my accountibility starts. I pledge to remain dedicated to post here everyday, at the end of the day (if for any reason I need to skip a day, I will write in a paper journal until I can post). I will include anything that directly affects my journey to awesomeness, be it good or bad. So it starts, time to come clean.
  13. I love liquids in the morning! If it's brewed from a coffee bean that is :-)Nah, actually I think I'd be better able to handle a smoothie than a meal, but I come back to that "what's the point" struggle. I just don't have an appetite in the morning. It really just is an extension of the overall battle I'm having with weight loss in general. Naturally, my instinct is to listen to my body. If I'm not hungry, then I shouldn't eat, right? But then again, this is the same body that wants to eat a box of croissants with a pound of cheese and nothing else. So maybe I should ignore some of the things my body wants and follow popular nutrition advice, like eat a healthy breakfast. And I find myself in this circular argument basically every morning, smh
  14. That's what bugs me most, I don't feel a difference in energy for the most part. Maybe I'm not eating the right stuff? When I was habitually eating breakfast, it mainly consisted on oatmeal and dried fruit ('cause that's what I can store at my desk so I don't have to remember to pack it everyday). Never really tried to vary it a bunch, other than different types of dried fruit :-/
