  2. Saturday cont Had a huge binge Saturday night on drinking and food. Can't even tell you what I had. Sunday Slept all day. Don't remember what I ate, but I do remember it being paleo! Monday Ran three miles - felt sluggish. Ate kale and brocolli for lunch. Went to wine tasting dinner for work. Was nearly paleo until I got drunk and ate an entire thin crust pizza... Tuesday First Elements class at CrossFitNYC. Tabata squats (16) and pushups (5) - went out way to hard on the pushups. Kale and eggs for lunch. Kombucha and bacon and pork sausage for dinner.
  3. Ending Friday with 2 beers and a spoonful of almond butter before bed. Saturday I felt like shit all day. Maybe it was the crap I ate this week, maybe it was the change in weather, or maybe it was not getting to bed before 5am a day this week... Anyway, ate a 1/4lb of bacon and 2 thai beef sausages for breakfast. Felt like shit so I ate an ice cream snickers bar, a quart of organic whole milk and a packages of Tate's cookies as a pre-workout cheat meal. Epic fail, still felt like shit and cut workout short. In circuit 2-arm Kettlebell swings - 60lbs 2x25 pushups (10 clapping, 10 standard) - 2x20 leg lifts - 2x20 (What's the next step in making this harder?!?) pull-ups - 2x20 Need rest...
  4. nightlight - got your contact info and will email when we're making plans for the next one. possibly halloween. Wednesday Front row at Douglas Hannant fashion show in the Plaza Hotel in the am. Followed by lunch with an old boss at Coffee Shop. Ceviche and then steak salad. Dinner was with a potential client at his italian restaurant... Ate a personal pizza, two small portions of pasta, half a sea bass, spinach and drank a bottle of red wine. Went to see my roommate now playing with Our Mountain. Drank two whiskys. Finished the night with an hour of weighted pelvic thrusts ~ 120 lbs, unknown number of repetitions. Grade Diet - F Fitness - D Wednesday was a failure. Need to plan better when I've got working lunches and dinners. Thursday Lunch Duck confit with peppers in hashbrowns with candied, yes CANDIED BACON and a 3 cheese omlette. Dinner Another working dinner with italian restaurant potential client. Decided to make this my weeks cheat meal. Ate about 1lb of spedino alla blah blah. Some fishy cheesey breaded thing. Pappardelle with veal and pork and beef ragu. Branzino with a cheese stick and some sort of green that i recognize but name escapes me. Dessert was an affogato and a tiramisu. Drank half a bottle of red wine. Came home to feast of wines and berries and grapes. Also friends with a bottle of scotch. Note to self: Need to make friends who bring over kombucha and wild game. Modified late night pelvic thrusts. Been a good week. In circuit 2-arm Kettlebell swings - 60lbs 5x25 pushups (10 clapping, 10 standard) - 5x20 leg lifts - 5x20 (What's the next step in making this harder?!?) pull-ups - 5x12 Diet - C Workout - A Friday Food - Kombucha, Muscle Milk, Mountain of Bacon (1lb) with two poached eggs on a nest of bacon grease sauteed broccoli rabe and kale. [ATTACH=CONFIG]750[/ATTACH] Workout - 2 miles of walking, 4 miles of easy running.
  5. Today I came home from my meeting around 11am and took a nap. Slept until 6pm with exception of waking up to eat 1/3 lb of almond butter with my fingers that was laying next to my bed. What kind of animal am i? Post nap - ran a mile to the park, ran another 1/4 at the park, did farleks 10x70meters with 130 meters slow inbetween sprints, ran a mile home. total run = 3.5 miles now i'm cooking 1.2 lbs of wild nz salmon and brocoli!

  8. Getting out and speaking Japanese will be a two for one! Not to mention it will be a blast! I just moved back to NYC from a 9 month stint in rural Honduras. It could be tough to motivate myself to speak with the rural hondurans whom I didn't understand well, but I always had an awesome time when I forced myself to do it!!!!

Monday Lunch - 1/2 of brocoli Snack - bottle of muscle milk and bottle of kombucha Workout In circuit 2-arm Kettlebell swings - 60lbs 5x25 pushups (included random number of psuedo planche) - 5x20 leg lifts - 5x20 pull-ups (started some kipping) - 5x10 Went to work event. Avoided drinking with sparkling water and lime. Ate beef tartare and arugla. Came home, braised 1 lb of grass fed organic beef liver. Was able to stomach about 2/3. NEED BETTER RECIPES! Or how about a recipe at all!!!!! Good friend brought over bottle of tequila and friends for her birthday. Drank 8 shots of tequila and drank a Tecate to wash down liver... Just finished two hours of intense late night squats and lunges. Now time for work...

  11. Totally agreed, with one important caveat. Meats, butter and cheeses should come from pasture raised, grass fed organic types. You are what you eat, and the animals you eat are what they eat. Eating corn fed, hormone pumped meat will gunk your body up with some pretty nasty chemicals and fats. I'd also add macadamia oil to the mix for cooking. Easier to cook with and a slightly different, but good lipid profile.

  13. Sleep No More Sleep No More wasn't as much of a sprint fest as I had hoped, but I did get to make out with the shaved head witch. Sprinted up and down the stairs a few times for the hell of it. Drank a glass of prosecco and a shot of absinthe during the show, not Paleo, lowers my grade on the day to a B. If anyone wants to go, I'm up for another trip! Saturday Started the day with my first crossfit class. Did beginners at crossfitnyc. 10 minutes of Cindy with 1/4 squat jumping pull-ups since we hadn't learned kipping yet. 10 rounds. L-sits - about 20 seconds until my triceps cramped BAD. 4 rounds of tabata situps - 16, 16, 15, 13 Saturday used to be my cheat day, and now it's the day for my cheat meal. I kind of cheated on the whole thing and just ate one giant disgusting cheat meal. Polish bird milk candy, digusting salty Danish liquorish, a pair of hostess orange cupcakes, a pint of Haagen Dazs, 4 slices of pizza, 1/2 lb of grass fed brisket, 1/2 lb of pasture raised pork belly, 2 rolls, baked beans with pasture raised pork and beef, a small key lime pie, a couple of sodas, and a Van Lueewen sour currant ice cream cone. After lunch I went to an Appleseed Project event in Manhattan. Five hours at the shooting range working on marksmanship. My arms were tired after crossfit and holding a rifle steady all day. I followed it up with birthday party that turned into a night of drinking - 2 pours of whisky, a margarita, 3 beers. I met a hedge fund asshole who wouldn't shut up about how much money he had and how he was going to hookup with the bartender. Long story short, we bet $1000 that he could sleep with her that night and I won. He hasn't paid in full yet, which will help with my Life Goal of eliminating $9,000 in credit card debit, but I came out ahead on the night even after the shooting range and drinks. We'll see how my progress goes to see if this is acceptable... Grades Diet C Workout A Life A Sunday Today was my day off of exercise. Did some light stretching. Lunch was a 1/2 lb raw kale salad and kombucha. Dinner was 1 1/4 lb grass fed beef hearts.
  14. So far today I walked 3 miles carrying a suit and a stack of Java books. I got myself into quite the mess. Any good mobile developers out there? 1/2 lb raw kale salad for lunch 1/2 lb organic brocolli and 1lb organic grass fed steak skewers for dinner Doing 15 minutes of rehab inspired strechy band work now. Then onto Sleep No More: http://sleepnomorenyc.com/ Which to my understanding is a 3 hour long Hamlet interpretation booze fest spent sprinting up and down 5 flights of a hotel after witches that lead you to naked man goat techno orgies. Some of you may have already seen it in Boston...
  15. I think your going to need to publish a cook book at the end of your challenge! Keep it up with the food porn! For your long runs - just start really painfully slow and don't stop. The hard part is learning to pace yourself. Once you get in the habit, long runs become relaxing and even enjoyable.

  17. Thanks for the advice Catspaw. I see a lot of bulk cooking in my future - and maybe an investment in a ::gasp:: microwave... How do people deal with drinking on paleo? Tea-total? Air-fermeted ciders? Mead? Make it my one cheat meal a week?
  18. Workout #1 Circuit Kettlebell swings 60 lbs - 4x25 Pushups - 4x20 Leg Lifts - 4x20 Pullups - 3x10 and 1x8 (failure) I purchased kale, brocoli, grass fed beef liver, heart and steak today. I see that fashion week nightlife events and eating out are going to challenge my paleo goals. Advice is much appreciated.
