  1. I highly encourage the Bodyweight Workouts to add to your excellent walking routine. I've loved them. May the Force be with you! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Today I finished the 8th and final workout of the first Beginner Bodyweight Level 1. Huzzah! During this workout, I was able to deepen my knee push-ups so that my nose was almost touching ground. And during cool down I was able to touch my toes while sitting for the first time in a few years. Small improvements to be sure, but improvements nonetheless. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Welcome, Shaneshu! Looks like you're kickin' ass and takin' names. Keep it up! And best of luck to you on your quest!
  4. Doh! Feeling dumb. Been so focused on the paleo and exercise parts of my Quest, I forgot about the eating NO added sugar foods. Yesterday I ate some banana bread--neither paleo nor added sugar-less. Man, I've gotta get back with the focus.
  5. Bleh to this weekend. I did okay eating-wise. Mostly paleo, but eating out and seeing the menu and how few options. Always disappointing. I'm sure the week will go better.
  6. Thanks for checking in with me, Alanna. I didn't get a workout done because it seems the illness my son had early in the week passed on to me Thursday night. Hopefully I can get in the swing again next week. By the way, I'm almost done with the Lvl 1 Beginners Body Weight Workout. Is it best to go to Lvl 2 or jump to Lvl 1 of the Barbell Workout? 7. Great goals with specific plans to achieve them! I wish you Xena's courage and tenacity!
  8. This week has been out of the routine, and that always makes things harder. Today I had to put off the workout until tomorrow because my babysitter fell through. I just try to keep in mind that it's okay to mess up once, but don't do it twice in a row. Eating has been good, definitely in the 90% paleo category. No progress on closets this week though. Boo.
  9. Great goals and a perfect time to build some lifelong exercise habits. College lifestyle will sneak up on you without some discipline. Best of luck!
  10. Thanks for the encouragement and dragons! I weighed myself this morning and had lost a little ground. It has made me refocus on making better choices while eating out on weekends. It's hard, yes, but if I frame it as only for 6 weeks (with the trick being to make it a real lifestyle change), I should be able to do better. Due to a sick kid, yesterday's workout got put off til today, but I just finished it and feel accomplished. Push-ups are getting easier to do a full dip with proper form. So I'm seeing improvements for sure!
  11. Logging your food intake is a great course of action. Best of luck to you!
  12. Saturday reflection: Harder to eat paleo on the weekends because we go out to eat for breakfast with our parents both days and I am tempted by many yummy breakfast foods involving flours and syrups. But despite that, I did pretty well today. I had hashbrowns with my omelet--I know that's borderline. But I resisted pancakes, so that's win-ish.
  13. Thanks for the lunch suggestions! Today was great. Did the Beginner Bodyweight Workout. Push ups are getting easier, though the jumping jacks left me winded. Ate total paleo. Mowed the yard and pumped the tires on my bike, the husband's, and the toddler's Burley. I'm hoping we can go for a ride this weekend.
  14. Asa, Welcome and may the winds towards Mt Doom always be at your back! I have a to-do/organizer that I proselytize because I've fallen in love with it. If you're an RPG nerd like I am, you might dig it. habitrpg.com It would work great with the 6 week challenge, because you can set up habits, tasks, and daily tasks that you want to accomplish. Anyway, I love it, and if organization is a goal, it might be a great tool for you. It's web and app friendly. Erin
  15. Today I got the first of the closets cleaned out for my side quest! Plus I baked some paleo-friendly egg muffins for a fast grab and go breakfast. Had a little trouble deciding what to do for lunch. Ended up dipping my veg and fruit in almond butter. What do you guys do for a paleo lunch that's relatively quick and easy?
  16. Keeping a food log is a great activity for weight loss. That's an excellent choice, as is the side quest getting you outside and active, to reaching your overall goal. Huzzah to you!
  17. Thanks, Hazard and Karitas! Yesterday I ate perfectly paleo. Yay! Today I did the level 1 Bodyweight workout. I like how for a newb like me, even the warm ups and cool downs work and stretch muscles. It's like they've tricked me into doing far more work than I go in thinking I'll be doing!
  18. Yesterday I completed the Beginner Bodyweight Workout and ate 90% paleo. The 10% would be a half cup of quinoa. I also weighed myself and have lost 6.5 lbs since joining Nerd Fitness two weeks ago.
