  1. Full write up found here: https://megsfitness.wordpress.com/2015/08/19/6-week-challenge-week-3/
  2. I dropped out of the facebook group for the time being, but I'm still (sorta) keeping up with the fitness aspect. In turning my focus to nutrition, I got an omelette today with a TON of veggies.. peppers, onion, tomato, mushroom, spinach... It's nearly too much to eat So nutritious, though. I'm at 265 right now, and about 2-5 weeks away from delivery. They think Baby Girl is around 6.5 lbs already. She's so big... her little hiney is at the bottom of my rib cage, and her head is alllllll the way down in the pelvic cradle already. Makes any sort of physical activity super fun She's probably going to be tall like her daddy. I'm getting really excited to meet her. <3
  3. It's hard to face the truth about ourselves. Now that it's out there, what's next? Are you really that bad of a friend, or are there circumstances in your own life that are dragging you down and not letting you see the grass on your own side of the fence? It's green where you water it, so I hear. *hugs*
  4. ??????? You're obvi not stupid, based on your own tracking, so lighten up Based on your updates and BF hugs you're already feeling better, but try to keep that positive mindset You belong at the gym. And there's no saying you have to wait until you lose weight before you're happy/confident. Just believe in yourself, find things you love about yourself, and rock out. You've got great things to contribute and shouldn't diminish them because of a few fluffy pounds. Ugh. :eyeroll: Thank goodness for headphones when braggarts are around. That salad looks amazing, btw. I need to put more pepperoni on my spinach
  5. Hahaha! Awesome! Is that the one that's also known as crow's pose? I've watched tutorials on how to build up to it, but never attempted it myself
  6. Wellllllll.... I overdid it while my friends were in town. Ended up with feet so sore/swollen that it took two days and an epsom salt bath to get them to stop aching so much. Then Tuesday, I had some pretty scary symptoms that sent me to my OBGYN in a panic.. turns out, baby is sitting quite low, my cervix is soft, and I'm at a 1..........so.... he stopped just shy of putting me on bed rest but did say that I need to 'take it easy' the rest of the week. I tried to stop at Wal*Mart for some last-minute necessities for baby, but I had to call the trip short after about 15-20 minutes. Standing/walking gives me a lot of weight in my uterus, which turns into pain in the pelvic floor if I'm not careful. Womp womp! My weekly challenge goals are shifted from strength training, then, to freggies. The full update is in my battle log, here: http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/69234-aminarra-rolls-a-new-character/
  7. Looking back on my sticker-charts, I'm really not doing much better than a C-Average so far. I'm really going to have to step up my game for the last half of the challenge!! I was dealt a sucker punch this week--Doc stopped just shy of putting me on bedrest. Walking is a doosie after about 15 minutes =/ Originally I struck strength training off my chart altogether, but one of the NFAW members reminded me that Steve wasn't kidding when he said that nutrition was 80-90% of the battle... So, with renewed vigor, I'm replacing the Strength Training goal with a Freggies goal for the last 3 weeks and 2 Days of this challenge! I am committing to eating either a fruit or vegetable with every meal, and swapping out at least one snack/day with a fruit or a veggie.
  8. Awesome progress in June!! how'd July go?
  9. Still working on the house... best friend is coming to town today and I'm on vacation for a week The great news is that it's actually easier to eat healthy around her
  10. I feel obligated to comment, but I have nothing to add I just think it's inspiring to watch your progress.
  11. I don't have the link anymore lol I should've posted it when I was thinking about it I tried searching and just can't seem to come up with it. Oh well, though! Vacation is over and it's back to the healthy eating for you
  12. I made this one in Excel and I got stickers at the dollar store I have a calendar in my room but half the time I don't even flip the month let alone look at it daily.. My sticker chart, though, I keep that handy at my desk and it fits easily into my purse Unfortunately, I left it at work T^T I'm on vacation until next Tuesday! LOL Whoops. Lessee yesterday... I definitely would get stickers for house level up, 15 minutes walk, positive affirmation... Act of sass for sure. Balls. I didn't work out aside from the 'house level up.' We spent 2.5 hrs cleaning and rearranging furniture. =/ booooo
  13. Week 1 Summary: I started out with an opportunity to earn 42 stickers (alternating days ST vs Labor Exercises). Due to circumstances beyond my control, my opportunity for stickers was reasonably reduced to 37. Of those, I have earned 28*, or 75.6% - a C average! I'd like to really step it up in week two This is one challenge that I don't want to fade on.. If I can complete this challenge--no matter how great or poorly I perform--it'll be one of the first that I actually see through to completion. That'd be a big accomplishment in and of itself. *My act of Sass was accomplished during the writing of this post
  14. Life is moving at the speed of growing grass. Speaking of which.. I should probably go get that cut. Been meeting 80% of my goals for the week so far, except for all things physical =/ Monday was BH day and Tuesday was a rest day because of it, Wednesday is chalked up to exhaustion, Thursday to date night, and Friday to caring for a food-poisoned hubby who NEARLY had to go to urgent care for an IV due to dehydration. Yesterday I got all of our laundry done--so plenty of trips up and down stairs, plus we tightened the braces on the foundation wall which involved applying up to 50lb torque to 6 overhead bolts. I got them started and probably made it up to about 30lbs before my core started protesting, then hubs finished up the last parts. He was sweating and felt like he got a good work out by the end, so I'm calling it a good. Today there's cleaning and weeding to do around the house. I really hate my bat wings, but finding the motivation and wherewithal to actually do something about it is mighty difficult these days. I just look around the house and realize how many OTHER things need to be done. That, and over-doing it just by shopping last weekend scares me into taking it easier than I want to.
  15. could you be fighting something off? Sounds miserable
  16. Same here >_> Except insert Noodles, Panera, QDoba, etc. instead of mcdonalds. It's bad... I'm a sucker for dishwashers... my old room mates bought one of these when they got an apartment that had no dishwasher. The water intake is just a hose that connects to their water faucet. It's amazeballs. http://www.sears.com/appliances-dishwashers-portable-dishwashers/b-1020285 ^ Truth.
  17. It could be that you've just shaken your metabolism up! Your body got used to the patterns and now that you're on vacation, you're seeing progress Steve wrote a blog about it and I could find a link for it if you're interested.
  18. I've felt completely perplexed lately.. like "I slept fine, I'm not exerting myself, what the actual (bleep)?" It's resulted in my feeling the need to sneak away to the Mother's room for a half an hour nap about 3x/week for the past 2 weeks. Friday, we went to bed early anticipating a big day on Saturday. We spent about 2 hours getting the spiders, webs, and eggs out of the basement. Then we cleaned house and got things organized. On Sunday, me and the hubs were running errands for about 4 hours.. by the end, I was just done for. We finally stopped at the grocery store for just a few things and I was just like "Yep, Imma just walk a bit slower back here." We got to the bread aisle, and it was ALL THE WAY AT THE OTHER END of the aisle, so I just sent Hubby ahead. I just waited with the cart, like, "nope, can't do it." When we got home, we laid down to take a nap and I crashed HARD. One second I was snuggling up, the next the alarm was going off and I was trying to wipe drool off Hubs' bicep before he noticed. I really paid for it yesterday. =/ I ended up having braxton hicks contractions (BH) for about 9 hours.. roughly once every half hour. I drank water, I relaxed, when that didn't work, I tried going for a walk.. I had something to eat, I used the restroom, and I tried to ignore them and focus on work... They didn't go away until I was able to go home and lay on the couch, on my left, for about 2 hours. My hip and back hurt from the positioning, but it stopped the constant tightening of my tummy. Today I feel a lot better, but I'm not up for taking risks, so the plan is to take it easy.
  19. Alright - Day 1 Report! Got my stickers for Positive Affirmations (Look--I still have an hourglass!), 20 Minutes of MCGHP (read about interventions), Act of Sass - Check!, 15 minute walk (Around a mall!), and I gave myself a sticker for "Labor Exercises" because I dealt with braxton hicks contractions (BH) for the first time ever yesterday... about every half an hour from 11am-8pm. =/ The triage nurse said that I should do nothing but lay down and drink water... and so I did. I had a HUGE to-do list that I wanted to accomplish yesterday, so laying down and doing nothing was a challenge. I gave myself a yellow smilie face sticker for that accomplishment. Today, I'm looking for all of the above again, except swapping out the labor exercises for some strength training. I'm wearing a supportive belly band today, so hoping that helps avoid the BH.
  20. Haha, Kat, that's perfect Good morning to you too! Ali - Abso-freakin-lutely! Here's the novel: I've been battling with my self esteem lately (read: 2.5 years or so) and it's affected my relationship with my husband. Now--he's calm, cool, collected, but we're also able to be totally honest with each other. My lack of self esteem (and thereby complete lack of interest in sexy-times) makes him feel like he just doesn't "do it" for me anymore. My Acts of Sass is going to be about flirting confidently and reclaiming the confident, sexy, attractive woman I was meant to be. Yeah, the timing is weird, what with my being in 3rd trimester and all, but I think that regaining my confidence will last much longer than this pregnancy Yesterday my "act of sass" was to hit on my hubby sincerely without there being any giggles or jokes to take the edge off. Today, I dunno what it'll be, but I want to feel like a powerful female and I want to make him feel like an attractive man Eee!! All the baby girl things
  21. Just my 2 cents, and it's just a couple pennies so feel free to leave it where it sits, but when I'm reading this, it looks like your main quest is to lose 12 lbs, and keeping your steps up is one of the goals you can use over the next 6 weeks to get there. Good luck and have fun!! p.s. what are you watching on Netflix? We're watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. at the moment.
  22. Ain't that the way it goes? *SMH* When getting started is the hardest part, I set a timer for 10 minutes and have at it. When 10 minutes are up, I can either stop (and set a timer for 20-30 minutes of down time) then get back at it for another 10 mins! You'd be surprised at how much you can get done in 10 minute increments
  23. First up – Emotional Well Being 1. Positive Body Affirmations – Daily 2. Mental Prep for Labor/Delivery–reduce stress and anxiety by learning about it. – 20 Minutes Daily 3. Practice being confident and sassy – fake it until you make it – 1 Act of Sass Daily Next – Physical Wellness! 1. Short (15 Minute) Walk – Daily 2. Physical Prep for Labor/Delivery–Make sure I’m up for the challenge by completing recommended exercises from the Mayo Clinic’s Guide to a Healthy Pregnancy. – Every Other Day 3. Strength Training for when Baby Girl arrives! Babies come with a lot of gear, and a lot of trips up and down stairs… Time to get the practice in now by completing full body (modified) work outs that will include the following exercises at a minimum of every-other day: Bicep Curls Squats Overhead Press Rows Tricep Kick-Backs Alternating Arm/Leg Lifts Cat/Cow Stretches Stretches Side Quest: Level Up the House! I really want to have a proper nursery for Baby Girl, but we also need a proper guest room for our out of town visitors. My friends are coming to town within 2 weeks for my baby shower (ee!) and then my in-laws will be in town shortly after Baby Girl is born. My side quest to level up the house will be to relocate the office to the basement and to convert the office to a proper guest room. This will involve tearing out a desk that is built in to the room, patching and painting the wall, and moving large heavy furniture from the office to the basement and from the current guest room to the current office. It’s a big bite to take out of our plans, and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get it done before Baby Girl makes her debut. It’s on the list, though Let’s go. Starting Weight: 258.6 using the digital scale in the fitness center, wearing maternity jeans and long-sleeved maroon cotton shirt; 11:20am Monday 7/27/15
  24. Oh, and I figured out my knee.... LOL! We have a really low toilet, and I wasn't using good form in my squats Since I started using good form when I go to the bathroom at home, my knee pain has decreased. XD Of all the things...
