  1. Not really so much as over hearing, but seeing it too. Saw someone teach someone else how to deadlift incorrectly by putting the knees and lower back in terrible positioning when the person who was deadlifting already had it right. He seemed a bit bewildered about the whole situation and dead lifted the way that was showed to him. I reassured him that he was deadlifting properly when his "teacher" left, and he said that that guy likes to go around and "correct" form.
  2. When I'd play League of Legends I'd do push ups, squats, or pull ups depending on how well we won or on how bad we lost. And if I was playing WoW (usually PvP) I'd multiply my deaths by 5 and do however many pull ups, push ups, or squats that totaled.
  3. Hey guys. I just started to power clean and I'm under the impression that as long as you get in the front rack position, whether or not you catch it in a quarter squat or even perform a full squat, you've completed the movement when you stand straight up. Now my question is, do you dip down to a half squat or maybe even lower the higher in weight you go? Personally I just barely meet it at a quarter squat but I'm still trying to get used to the wrist movement. What are your thoughts?
  4. Hurt my lower back why squatting back in January and have slowly been building myself back up to my personal record (315 lbs. five times without belt). Today I've done 295 lbs. five times with the belt and I'm extremely happy with where I'm going again. Note to self: Do not drink pre workout so close to bed time...
  5. That's great progress in two months! Took me two years just to build confidence to squat...
  6. I am actually planning on doing this race, but I haven't signed up yet and my start time is probably gonna be in the 10 AM range. How are you training for this event?
  7. Hi NF! I've been frequenting Nerd Fitness for a couple of months now and I love the philosophy and drive of this whole machine! I've been looking to have discussions and share experiences with like minded people and I think I've finally found the place to do so. I'm 20 years old and I've always had a problem with putting on weight. I started exercising when I was about 16 years old but didn't really start training until a couple of years after that. A bit of background: I love playing video games, and absolutely love the lore of World of Warcraft. I'm in the Marine Corps so there's always a drive for me to improve... Always. I always do my research when I find new training methods, diets, studies, etc. Since I've started lifting weights all I want to do is break my personal records, but at the same time keep up with calisthenics. I hope that'll do for an intro. I'm glad to be here and I'm looking forward to sharing, learning, and improving with everyone!
