  1. O.K. I have not been on for a bit. I have not stopped training. (Just stopped checking my computer.) Cheechoo got with me yesterday and had me do the weekly challenge. 10 rounds single kicks = 80 10 rounds single kicks = 80 10 rounds double kicks = 160 10 rounds double kicks = 160 5 rounds triple kicks = 120 5 rounds triple kicks = 120 22 rounds single kicks = 176 22 rounds single kicks = 176 Total = 1,072 Kicks (At lunch) Then went home and started training with my guys. (We are training out of my garage. Nice and convenient.) I did (10 rounds single kicks = 80) on a cinder block with my knee (The one I was balancing on) at a 30-45 Degree angle. I only had two cinder blocks and wanted to do it with my guys so I stayed on my block while they alternated. It took a bit longer because we had to slow it down so no one would fall of their cinder block, but it was fun to push everyone this way. They also knew I was not going to hit them with a broom handle if I was in-front of them doing the same thing. I ended up doing 6 more rounds of (10 rounds single kicks = 80) for 480 more "Around the world kicks". So a Total = 1,552 Kicks (For the Day)
  2. Thanks. We still have one more procedure to go, but lucky for us it's not a life and death kind of thing. Just time, money, and pain. Then again what hospital visit isn't all of those things. (Well unless you are visiting) Thanks. Yea everything goes out the window when my family needs me. Thanks. She is doing well, and yes I always treat my Queen like weeeell a Queen. Thanks. Cheech has been keeping me busy at the gym when our schedules match up. Hopefully soon we can get back to her Dojang so she can give me a proper butt kicking. Because it was so damn cute. Update I have been keeping up with my gym time for the most part, but I have had some time off from my class time in the evenings. I got a call from my Master that he is leaving the Dojang he is teaching at and he and I will be training in my garage again as soon as all my crap clears up. So I will get a lot more time training one on one with my master. He and I trained in my garage for about a year and a half, so this is nothing new to us. It does make for some really long training sessions.
  3. Friday Friday was a good day. Pushed it and got done about 10 min early. I did more blocking technique with the time I had left. Sat/Sun Was in the hospital with my wife. She is goinf to be o.k... Monday Got a good workout in. Did some extra body hardening today. Tuesday Hoping today will be another good day. Tomorrow I will not be working out. I will be back at the hospital with my wife. I have A LOT of personal stuff going on and don't know how much I will be on my computer in the next couple weeks. I will try to check in as much as possible.

  6. Wednesday Still a little tired but got to the gym and got most of my workout in. I spent the last 1/2 hour teaching/working someone else. Thursday Almost back to normal. I got my workout in and did my extra stretching and body hardening. Spent some extra time worked on my blocking technique flow.

  9. Tuesday Almost got my normal workout in (A friend showed up and we chatted away the time) but got some exercise in while we chatted. Wednesday Got a good push in my workout today. Some extra stretching and body hardening. Worked on blocking while I was climbing stairs. Thursday Worked out with a friend. Not quite as hard as I normally do. (Had to cut it short) But it was fun so that's all that matters. Friday Really pushed today. Got in all my stretching and body hardening with 10 min to spare. I didn't need to get back to work right away so I turned the 10 min into about 45 min... Good workout day for me. Saturday Started to feel a little like I was catching a cold so all I did was my yard work (Mow, Edge, Ect...) and stretched, but nothing else. Sunday Yea I now officially have a cold. Monday Still sick, but have to register my daughter for school today, and its my wife's birthday. Lots to do. (Run, Run, Run) (Then TRY to get some rest) Tuesday Taking the day off work to spend with the family. Its the last day of summer vacation for my little one. Hopefully I will feel better. Wendsday Crossing my fingers for a normal day....
  10. Week 3 Shun-SHENG duh gao-WAHN, this woman kicks some serious Ho Tze Duh Pi Gu. This week I train with River, bred by The Alliance to be the Ultimate Assassin. River can dance the dance of combat better than anyone I've ever seen. It's gonna be a might hard keeping up with her, but I reckon I'll try. Combat training this week until my body aches like back in the war. We dancing? I feel bruises forming.

  12. Friday 100 push-ups / mountain climbers / modified dips / lunges was all I got at the gym. I didn't make it home until close to my bed time so I didn't get the stretching or body hardening I wanted in, but when I got home I did mow the yard with my knees at about a 30 - 45 degree angle while a worked. I waited until I was in my backyard to do this. I am sure that I looked like a mad man, but as long as no one can see me....... Great workout for my legs. It felt very Monty Python-ish Saturday Lots of running around. Shopping for my little one to go back to school. Other that stretching before everyone woke up... Nothing Sunday Went to our local water-park (Splash Town) so I did a-lot of stair climbing but nothing else today either. Monday Normal workout today. Did some extra stretching and body hardening.

  14. I can take more time on a ladder. So to me it feels less intense. Wednesday Did my normal workout with some added energy. Got it done with 7 min to spare and went to run the stairs and shadow box for the last few min I had.. Thursday Its been a while since i did two ladders in a week so I spent today doing another ladder. I used to spend 40-45 min doing a ladder. I got today's ladder done in 33 min. Then went to run 30 flights of stairs while shadow boxing and then did 6 rounds of jump rope at 1:10 each. In between each round of jump rope I did body hardening. So all in all I got a good workout in today.
  15. Wednesday I did 60 pushups, 30 Burpees, and 9 Min in Plank. Thursday Been a while since I did two ladders in a week so I went ahead and did another ladder today. Adding another 270 Pushups / 210 Squats / 30 Burpees / 9 Min Plank Edit Taught class tonight so I made the class do 30 Burpees 40 Lunges 40 Pushups
  16. Looks like a great time. Beautiful scenery. Travel Hulk. Swimming. Hiking. Waterfalls. Yeeeeeaaaaaa. Jealous.
  17. Tuesday I felt a little better. Just more tired that usual. So I figured I would take it easy and... With the side quest in mind I did a ladder during my workout today. 20 Each - Pushups/Situps/Squats. 19 Each - Pushups/Situps/ Squats. 18 Each - Pushups/Situps/Squats. 17/16/15 So on until I get to 1. Then I went to class and added 60 more Pushups/Situps/Squats. Total 270. Guardians was great. I don't know the comic, but the movie was solid IMO. Thanks. I am feeling better. Thanks. I am feeling better. *Cough Cough* Yes I Still feel Light headed!! We should definitely Spar!
  18. I figured I would throw a ladder in to my workout today. 20 Each - Pushups/Situps/Squats. 19 Each - Pushups/Situps/ Squats. 18 Each - Pushups/Situps/Squats. 17/16/15 So on until I get to 1. So I think my tally for today is 210 so far. I am teaching tonight so I will get more, but how many depends on the class. Edit Then I went to class and added 60 more Pushups/Situps/Squats
  19. Monday Got my normal work out in. Did my Extra stretching and body hardening. I got it all done in a respectable time, but didn't push it to much. I feel a little "Off" today. I am feeling a little unfocused and I have gotten light headed twice so far this morning... I am drinking plenty of water and I ate some mixed nuts, but nothing has knocked off the funk yet.. I don't think I slept bad so I am not sure what is going on. I might be trying to fight off a bug or something. I will see.
  20. Thursday Did my normal workout. Well almost. I had a friend who I had not seen in a bit show up at the gym and talked while I worked out. I got about 80-85% of my workout in and did get more in the way of stretching. Also did some body hardening. I had a family outing to attend so I missed class tonight. So in exchange for skipping class I got about 30 min (almost) uninterrupted stretching time. The cat was the only one that came to the door. So one SHOO and I was alone again. I have to admit my muscles feel great. I will have to push it hard tomorrow. Friday Pushed it Friday. Got all my stretching and body hardening in with almost 10 min left on the clock so I went to one of the mirrors in the back of my gym and shadow boxed/inverted burpees/sit-up and planked my way through my last few min. Saturday Other that my morning stretching I had the day off and went to a family function. Sunday Again Other than my morning stretching I went to see The Guardians of The Galaxy at the movies.. (Great Film) Now to pick it back up and get back after it.

Thanks If you ever decide that Iron conditioning is something you want to start I would say read about Wolff's Law and how it applies to Iron conditioning. Then I (And probably many others) can try to fill in the rest. Fun stuff.
  23. Working on flow and defense so I have been in the back lines. I almost lost my balance when I stepped on one of the downed bodies and almost got my head cut off, but caught the sword at the last second and thew the fool at his buddy who was (I my opinion) looking a little TO excited to see an opening to take one of us down. Well he went down as faster than the first so..... HA! The rest of the day just continually fought. They just keep coming... Headed off the battle field for the night to rest. Will be back.
  24. Sorry it took so long. After vacation work is always brutal for me. I tried to post this yesterday but after I hit post I didn't see it come up. I figured I would give it a day to show up and if it didn't show up anywhere I would try again.... KFG Becomes more like the Fantastic Four Mister Fantastic (Reed Richards) Like Mister Fantastic I need to stretch more. So to do this I am going to spend 5-10 seconds longer than I normally do to get deeper in to each stretch. I also am going to try to get some Yoga in once to twice a week (In the evenings). I already have three of my evenings taken by training/teaching so I will have to do this at home. This will be interesting. Don't really know if shutting my door will work in my house. The Human Torch (Johnny Storm) Like the Torch I plan to Burn through one to two workouts a week by pushing harder and faster. My goal is to get 5-10 minutes extra at the end of my workout to add some MORE to my routine. I will try to achieve this while keeping my form and concentration on each exercise as I do them. No letting my mind slip away during my workout. Depending on how my body is doing is how often I will do this. No more than twice a week. Standing to close to the fire will only get me burned, and my normal workout is already a little close. The Invisible Woman (Susan Storm) Like Susan Storm I want to get better at putting up a shield to deflect/redirect incoming damage. I want to work on the flow of the blocks going from one to another. To do this I will incorporate more blocking technique into my shadow boxing and during my normal work-out. We also have 3 new students that I have been working with. I will concentrate on striking with them so I can work on my blocking. (Sneaky hehehe) The Thing (Ben Grimm) This will be the hardest and the most fun for me. BODY HARDENING. I will pull out my Makiwara board, my pipe, and my bag and use them. I will condition at least once a day. I want to focus on bone hardening (Wolff’s Law). I will keep the Makiwara board with me so I can work on it at any time. Thank god I just ordered my Shuang Long Medicinal Oil, or as Cheechoe calls it, “Magic Kung-Fu Potionâ€. I will be needing it. Lastly.... I hopefully will get the materials for the Monkey Bars and build them. I don’t know if this is going to occur this 6 weeks or next. My vacation cost more than expected. Tuesday I did my normal workout (Jump rope now incorporated). I spent more time getting in to each stretch. Now I will have to pick up the time just so I don’t lose out on my normal workout routines. When I ran the stairs I used more blocking technique than usual. I now realize that I use my hips more in my blocking than when I am just striking. (My Blocks are strikes. They are usually very forearm/elbow oriented though. SO I am guessing that when I take my fists out of the equation I am pulling my focus from my core/legs as it should be. Damn… Here I thought I was pulling from my core/legs with my fists when I strike as much as when I block. Well I guess I have part of my next challenge.) Then in the evening I went to class and worked with the new students. I didn’t get to work on striking/blocking as much as I wanted. They worked on ground while I was on vacation and I had them show me what they learned in a more “Live Fire†situation. So I spared everyone all night. One after the other. I did get some standup towards the end of the night. Just not as much as I wanted. I got fewer looks as I walked through my gym with my Makiwara board (A 2x4 with partially wrapped in rope) than I though I would. One of the trainers looked at my board (That I had set on a table during one of my exercises) and said "Aaaah that must be Eric's." That was about it. This is good. I know how my workout is already off from the norm and didn't want to cause more of a distraction. I used to go to our racquetball courts to train Body Hardening but our racquetball courts are being renovated so I can't go anywhere "Hidden" to train. Wednesday Did my normal workout but really pushed it. I tried not to let my heart rate slow. I got about 5 min by the end of it. (That IS with the extra time in my stretches) So with the five minutes I did more shadow boxing with blocking technique. I tried to stay in a squatted stance during to make my hips and legs kick in at the end. I got my shins and elbows on the Makiwara board but no pipe today. (The pipe I use on my inner and outer thighs) Then when I got home (Before dinner) I told the family I was going to go into my bedroom and stretch....... Well it went as well as can be expected in a house that does not shut its doors. About five minutes in (I have my mat down and some music playing so I can focus) I can here one of my cats pawing at the door. I shoo her away and get back to it... 10 min later our dog paws at the door. Shoo. About 5 min later my eight year old (Pretending to be one of the animals Paws at the door). SHOO!! For the last 10 min my wife had to play sentry and keep the house away from me.. Its good to be loved. I did get some stretching in but I like to sit in a pose for a bit to really get good and deep. Maybe after I get in a routine with this the house will calm down a bit when I close a door.
  25. Looks like a great set up. Of-course reading/watching a Cheechoe challenge thread is always enjoyable.
