  1. Awesome! I will go check out the mini challenges I am a professional belly dancer but I also dance west coast swing and use to do a lot of other dances. Yes, I am mostly following along again... I think I got it mostly figured out but I am still a little sketchy on a few things. I'll get the hang of it
  2. So my goals are very similar as my last quest but with just a few alterations. I spent the last two weeks on the west coast with one of those weeks at music and dance camp. It was life changing. I go to the west coast a few times a year and every time I am just in heaven. This time was different. I just realized that I belong there and it would be so good for my family and I would be near my sister. So my life goal is to move to the west coast....near Portland. Also, Camp has inspired me to dance more and have music on more. We even got rid of cable. I am am looking forward to scheduling my gym time in advance and getting into shape My main quest is to get stronger and leaner and hopefully shed a few pounds so I can feel comfortable and proud in my costumes and fav blue jeans? To get there I need to accomplish these goals - Weight train 4-6 days per week - Dance practice 6 days per week (This does not count towards workout time) - Stretch every day. - Eat a mostly home cooked...100% gluten free, dairy free, paleo diet with as little corn as possible! Life Quests - Move to Portland before June 1, 2015. - Save enough money to replace my computer. - Less TV and more music in the house. Fitness Side Quest (When ready) -Try more Parkour - Do the splits - Do a handstand - Do a pull up and chin up. Motivation To be healthy, strong, & to feel good about my appearance. Also, to be a more marketable bellydancer and set a good example for my kids. Only I can change me I am in control of my happiness Excuses only hurt me and differ my goals Quit procrastinating. Just do it!
  3. Life Quest -Save enough money to replace my computer. We made it to $500 only about $2200 left Fitness Side Quest (When ready) -Try Parkour I did start training for this and have been trying some sorta beginner stuff around the house and at the playground. I did a poo load of research to figure out how to approach this with as little injury as possible.
  4. YEAH!!! Level up time but I am not sure really how that works but I did it! I was at dance camp in the middle of the coastal redwoods in Cali for the last couple of weeks and out of touch with the internet. But it was awesome! I am super inspired and an got a lot of exercise while I was there. Definitely worth of a level up... Here's how I would break it down... B+ - Work out 3-5 days per week C - Consume 1693 quality calories every single day of a gluten free, mostly paleo diet! C - Dance practice 6 days per week (This does not count towards workout time) [except camp where I get and A+++] A - Get 8 hours of sleep every night at reasonable hours [except camp where I get a D...It was pretty much dancing, music, hiking, and swimming 24/7 with about 3 hours of sleep a night.] So camp was life changing. I am more inspired than ever to make myself the best I can be and live life to the fullest. It really aligned priorities and needs very clearly for me. It also helped me break out of my shell! I am so so so excited for what the future holds!
  5. Oh. good ideas guys unfortunately I can't do dairy. I can have a little sometimes but mostly no dairy for me. I am trying to add more avocados in as well as olive oil on salad and stuff like that. Now I just gotta be more consistent with my exercise. I get my 3x's per week but I feel like I can and need to push my self a bit more. I just suck at accountability for these things. I am trying to use my fitness pal and doing fairly well with it but I could do better. Either way I spent the last four days dancing and yikes my body hurts...but it is a good hurt Oh my sis has an extra nike fit band and is gonna send it to me I cant wait. It's gonna be so helpful and I think she and her hubby are gonna join us for the next challenge.
  6. YES YES YES!!!! I lost 2.2 lbs!!!!! Squeee!!! My daily calorie goal is 1693 and holy crap that is a frickin' lot of calories. I have been on some crazy diets in the last couple years and one of them was HCG. While taking the shoots on the HCG protocol your are required to eat 500 calories. Since then I have increased my intake and thought I was doing great. Since I have been logging my calories on this challenge I have realized that I have an incredible difficult time getting my intake above 1000. I originally thought I had been landing around 1000-1200 but on average am usually landing around in the 800-1000 area and keep finding myself at the end of the day frustrated and confused as to what else to eat and can't figure out how to eat the quantity of food I need to eat in a healthy way. I mean I could eat McD's or something like that. That racks up calories like crazy quick but is also loaded it bad carbs and unhealthy oils at minimum. That's the last thing I need. Uggg... Any suggestions on how to get higher quantities of healthy calories in? Though I think this has been my main issue and I didn't even know it. Not enough food, sleep, resistance to my muscles, and definitely not enough fun. Never would have thought I needed more food and fun but oh how important they are P.S. Does anyone know how to add the progress bar thingies into your signature block?
  7. How are things going? Are you on track with your goals?
  8. Thanks guys! Guess what, I did my first pole dance class, yeah!
  9. The good thing is that today (6/19) is my birthday and my hubby is out of town so I wont be temped with B-day cake.
  10. Hey, Thanks for the check in Chris... Yeah, It's going great! - Work out 3-5 days per week Got this covered. Actually I have got my work out in every day this week even if it is just a morning walk or a circuit or two through the day. I am really loving this make you workout fun stuff. Today, I did 5min Jump rope, 10 wall balls (12lbs), and overhead pass sit-ups with my son... we were having fun and lost count but it was at least 30. I am also having fun keeping up with the S.H.I.E.L.D. training mini challenge. So far, I really suck at hand stands but I WILL get it. Even if it doesn't really count for me, it is still fun. I think I am gonna try the Zelda workout too. Also reading up on Parkour and trying the body weight training stuff. - Consume 1693 quality calories every single day of a gluten free, mostly paleo diet! This one is tough. I have been good on the gluten & sugar free but 1693 is a frackin lot of calories. I try but generally land around 1000 - 1200. I did make it to 1693 yesterday. - Dance practice 6 days per week (This does not count towards workout time) I got this covered but I need a way to track it. - Get 8 hours of sleep every night at reasonable hours Got this covered as well but still need a way to track it as well. As for the saving for the computer thing... I just paid almost all the stuff I needed to catch up on and will be able to start making progress on that by the end of June. I just got some added motivation. I will be in a film June 29th and also performing at a big community event that day. I just got the costume I will be wearing to those and it is a bit to small So, I have got to stay on top of things and NO gluten, drink lots o' water, and as little sodium as possible to decrease bloating as much as possible. I hope it all works
  11. Yeah! Dancers!!! I am so excited to meet you guys! I am a bellydancer and LOVE it but I really need to cross train. I look forward to getting to know you all!
  12. Do any of you still need a texting accountabilibuddy? I am in the Chicago area and work for myself as a pro bellydancer, graphic designer, and stay at home mom of 2. I love all things art (drawing, watercolor, knit, crochet, digital art, etc) and video games. I generally go more towards RPG ond some strategy. Though I love me some old school Mario Bros, Donkey Kong...ya know the classics. I also like nearly anything history channel and murder mystery type shows like Castle and Dexter. I have about 30lbs or 5" off my hips to lose..whatever comes first I guess. Really I just wanna get stronger and if thinner comes with it that would be awesome!
  13. Yeah I think so and I am all for joining the Assassins . This mini challenge actually helps with my main goal which is to get stronger to which I much workout 3-5 days a week. So even if I don't get points for it and even though it is my first challenge I think I'll try to keep up anyway since it goes with my main goal. It will be fun to follow along and cheer you guys on. Thank you for your help
