  1. Well... My working out goal is a giant fail... Especially since my uncle died on Tuesday night... Been 'on call' for any members of my family in case they need anything. So everything's really screwy right now. Just doing my best to eat healthy, kinda hard when everyone's just going to the 'comfort' foods... Is it bad that all I want to do is hide in my cave (read; house) and avoid everyone 'til the funeral? The only alternative I want to do is punch people in the face... Ugh... The headaches... The struggle is real right now. T-T Maybe next week I'll have better news to check in with. You guys & gals hang in there!!! Do your best! Especially for the few of us who are apparently the b*tches of Murphey's Law.
  2. Woo!!! Go Shynnee!!! Doing pretty amazing!!! Yeah, you gotta wait 'til you're 100 or 95% better before you try and get going all out. I try that every now and then, and my body's pretty quick to remind me if that's not the best option. Great deal about the veggies. Things are so much easier when people agree on things.
  3. Spazz!!!! Yep. Finally back. Ugh... Why do people suddenly want to be around me when I only have the patience for an hour or so? Well been sticking to the healthy eating, aside from Sunday... TMBG concert, pizza, and couple beers... No regrets. Teirin, thanks for the advice! I use epsom salts when I know I'll be feeling it later. My Seifu also gave me that advice a while ago, and it works! I've heard about foam rollers... Though, confused as hell as to how to use them. Might be the next thing I look into.
  4. Woo hoo!!! You're looking pretty good with your stuff. I think this is the lag everyone falls into so far into a challenge. There's a few other people I keep my eyes on that have fallen off the radar and come back, myself included. So don't beat yourself up about that. It happens. Just try and check in once a week if things get crazy. Remember we're here for you!!!
  5. Don't worry about the posting so much. If you can get on once a week you're fine. I speak from breaking my own hiatus just now. Life is something you can't control most of the time, so you just gotta roll with it! As long as you're sticking to even part of your plans ~I~ think you're doing amazing. 'Cause really, how often do things turn out like anyone plans? Good to see you! Just keep trying!
  6. So before I forget again... Days 13-17: Hit a major stumbling block Monday while riding with my niece and brother (shall now be referred to as The TM) crashed in the perfect example of Murphy's Law... I'll now be relying on my left hand to grab the water bottle while cycling so I can use the breaks and avoid crashing again. As it stands I have a rather nice assortment of road rash along my right leg, forearm, and shoulder. Could have been worse, but it still hurts enough that I've been convinced sparring tonight is a very bad idea... I'm still going for a more toned down lesson, but I'm currently denied free range of my arm movement... Sucks not being able to lift my arm above my shoulder without feeling the scabs cracking... Ugh!!! Also knocks out most other activities while the scabs are proving temperature sensitive, big differences give me enough pain that I wish I could pull a Sub-Zero and rip out a spine. Yes... Strangely that mental image makes me feel a little better. I am managing the other goals quite well. Even if I can't do any heavy lifting or anything, I can still find things to do. Looks like I'll be getting quite a bit of walking in. See you guys later!!!!
  7. Oh man. You're doing awesome!!! Keep up the good work! Try and plan ahead as well as you can with the friends, but don't beat yourself up too much if you go off the rails some. Just do your best, and know we're here for you!!!
  8. Excellent. You're keeping to your goals. Keep up the good work for the muscles!!!
  9. Day 12: The bruises are starting to show, though some are too deep I can feel them. Didn't want to do much, but I made myself go for a walk seeing as I wasn't feeling up to much more. My dog seemed to love it though, glad I went when I did, it's raining right now. Keeping to my calorie goals, and making sure they're the healthy ones. Feeling so tired still...
  10. Days 10 & 11: Sparring last night was really good. I was fairly happy since we focused on the people participating in the tournament so the rest of us had a little bit of an easier time. I apparently did fairly well, though I did get cracked across my lower back with a kick (still feeling that today). Man... How wrecked I feel today... Spent as much time as I could sleeping, still tired and sore as hell. Hope you guys out there are feeling better than me today!
  11. Spazzz!!! Day 8&9 check in: Yep I haz a spazz brain people. But I'm back! So no work outs on account of weather, work, and lack of workout partners. Making up for that tomorrow, going for a run and its that day of week again... Sparring... Pray I survive? T-T Yeah, much anxiety associated with that class. In other news, been sticking to the calorie goals and even cooked ahead for some of the week! Yay!!! I don't have to cook so much!!! Yep... Looking pretty good. Is anyone else excited for Jurassic World?!?! Can't come soon enough!!! Hoping they did a great job...
  12. Another late check in. Day 6: Didn't do much cleaning in house, but I spent plenty of time weeding my garden, and helping my dad ready his for transplanting strawberry plants from mine. That took a good hour or so. Stayed on track with the foods. Though I saw a pretty disappointing movie, Unfriended had the potential to be good but didn't deliver. The only movie worse was Lazarus Effect, total let down. Why the movies suck this year?!?!
  13. Woohoo!!! You're back!!! Yay! Well you may not have had the chance to work out, but you did manage to focus on the really hard part... Food. Good nutrition is the hardest part of this whole thing, at least for me... Great job keeping motivated! Pace yourself so you don't burn out. I'll do some little things here and there for rewards... Though, I have to admit I've never put much thought to them... Maybe I'll set my half way goal met to something I've been wanting to do for a while, but never felt I had the time to do... Must give this more thought...
  14. Woohoo!!! Good job keeping track of the foods! That's the hardest part no matter what. As long as you keep aware of what you're eating and not forgetting you're doing good! Keep it up! Any good reading then? Always keeping my eyes open for good reading material. Trainer friends... Ask them to help you get more out of your workout while you chat? Or to remind you to keep going while they're around... Gotta tell them you have stuff you want to get accomplished while you're at the gym, if they're excellent friends then they'll be willing to help out without feeling put out. Hope I helped!!! And keep up the good work!!!
  15. Well I've been told to check out the monks from two different people. miss america and Teirin, thanks for the recommendation guys!!! Just popping in to say 'Hi!!!' and see what's going on over here. Just like to specify which style of Kung Fu I'm in to see if there are any others floating around. The style I practice is Choi Lee Fut, and I have to imagine Ermac when I go in since the Mortal Kombat game when they told you the styles the characters used. If you guys are doing online DnD PLEASE let me play?!?! I have a DM and group I love playing with, but work schedules and life are getting in the way of our game time. So I'm kinda dieing to play. Ok... Think I've typed enough... Gonna go hide in my cave now... See you guys around!!!
  16. Late day 5 check in. ^_^' Stayed on target for food and came in under my calorie goal. I got a good if excruciating ride in... My brother is EVIL incarnate when taking my niece and I on new rides. Slightly sad though, my Strava had crashed just after I started it and didn't record half my ride. Made sure it started when I checked at our half way break, still didn't load things quite right. Though I manually adjusted the data that got sent to MyFitnessPal, good thing about riding with others! Thanks Teirin, I'll be sure to check it out. Yeah, cross training is something that's been offered at my school before, might add that to the next challenge (very intense cross training very early in the morning) I do have a tendency to forget how much fun the other people and instructors make the classes, just takes a little suffering through it to remember. Yeah, the instructors I have are amazing , I've known half of them since I was 13 so it feels like family a little. Shynnee! Thanks for the check in! Yeah, good dark beers are amazing every now and then. I'm actually looking at how things break down more closely to see if I'll be on target or if I need to rethink things for a better option. Going pretty well so far!
  17. Ugh... No problems. Feel better soon!!! Here's hoping it's as mild as possible (know I'm wishing for a miracle here, but I'm trying)! Rest up!
  18. Woop woop!!! Great job so far! Don't beat yourself up over a stumble, just aim to do better next time. As long as you're trying you're headed in the right direction!!! A for effort!!!
  19. Day 4 check in!!! Well... I did have a soda at BJ's, at least it was one of their ones made with beet sugar and not HFCS (done my best to avoid that stuff for a good while now). Not gonna beat myself up over that. Food wise I did alright. A little over my calorie goal via MyFitnessPal... Damn tortillas! Won't make that mistake again. Ya learn something new every day! Keep it up people!!! Stay strong for the weekend!!!!
  20. Thanks miss america! Yeah, recovery isn't too bad, I've definitely had worse just some soreness as expected. I may check them out.
  21. Poke... Poke... Where are you... Don't make me send GIR in the mail to you...
  22. Yay!!! Streamers and sparklers for everyone!!! Hey, even if you gotta make your best guess you're still making an effort to keep track! Go you!!! Ohh... Pace yourself with the legs or you might win jelly legs the next morning. If you got friends in the gym trainers chat and ask if they can help you stretch while you're hanging out, my stretching class was a big conversation unless we were powering through some yoga. It helps you breathe and forget about some of the uncomfortableness that you might run into.
  23. Check in day 3: Holy crap!!! Sparring... So much intensity... Thank the gods the instructors love me (the one teaching 'fell down in shock' that I was actually staying instead of skipping as usual). I know imma be feeling it tomorrow, thankfully nothing that couldn't take it got hit... Only my thigh and arms. Good day! I remembered once I get past my own fear of it I DO have some fun with the whole thing. I stayed in my range for calories, and kept to the good stuff! Yay!!! Another day down!!! Cue 'Another One Bites the Dust', 'scuse me while I celebrate.
  24. Well imma cheer you on until I hear other wise, ok? Checking in on 'chu. Hope your day went well and you took another step toward your end game. Time to relax, and prep yourself to get excited for tomorrow!!! Have a great night, and I hope to see you around tomorrow!!! (PS... I meant good luck, not lick... Why can't spell check catch the weird stuff?)
  25. And I'm back for today's check in people!!! Feeling good! Kept to the good calories today, and came in under the calorie recommendation from MyFitnessPal. Praise be to the veggies!!! Cooked a pretty awesome chicken curry tonight that will keep me in leftovers for the next few days. Rest day for exercise, but tomorrow will be BRUTAL... Gonna do my best though. Peace out! Keep it up everybody!!!
