  1. Looking for a paleo food plan that suitable for my wife who has pregnancy onset diabetes. The diabetes center hasn't been very helpful and their food guide is downright useless and most of the foods on there are causing my wifes blood sugar levels to spike rather high. We usually eat fairly well protein (steamed turkey mince, pork mince, beef mince, rump steak(grass fed), kangaroo burgers , camel burgers , venison burger, crocodile sausages) and variety of greens for dinner. Dinner tonight was kangaroo burger(no bread) with greens (mai cai - chinese lettuce) and end up (after an hour) with nice low blood sugar. For my wife breakfast and lunch are more of a problem as she doesn't want to have bacon and eggs every day and porridge (from rolled oats or mix of other grains) are spiking her blood sugar levels. Yes just plain porridge but with a glass of warm full cream milk and ends up with rather high 7-8 blood sugar) She likes to have bread for breakfast at least I've got her onto gluten free but still not the best (for blood sugar levels). Currently just in the monitoring phase , if we can keep her blood sugar nice and low , it;ll stay in the monitoring phase and no need for insulin . Have to go back to the hospital for a regular check up and back to diabetes center on thursday. 8 weeks to go ! All suggestions for suitable breakfasts and lunches greatly appreciated Lex
