  1. Awesome folks, I am in. I am uber new but I made a challenge post. Basically I am new to the whole Paleo kick but have been getting pretty close to eating like that so part of my goals is to eat Paleo. I have taken it a bit further this week and am going Keto for now. Staying stringent with my workout schedule as well... hopefully I get my goals achieved!
  2. I AM A NEWB So, I am a little late to the party (9/19/11) but I feel like I already made my beginning before I started this thread. ALL IS NOT LOST! Let me tell you a quick blurb about me: I am 6'2 280lbs. I have lost about 80lbs in the past 7-8ish months just developing better habits and being more active. I recently found Starting Strength, spent numerous hours researching fitness and diet through subreddits and wiki articles. Naturally I have cut a lot of carbs out of my diet but only as of this week did I decide to go Paleo! DIET AND FITNESS GOALS LIFT HEAVY THINGS M, W, F NO MATTER WHATDO A PULL UP (WITHOUT ASSISTANCE)EAT 90% PALEO (I can't afford all grass fed and such)I WILL GO HIKING OR DO SOMETHING PHYSICAL THAT I FIND FUN ATLEAST ONCE A WEEKThat's the just of it folks! This is my first challenge and I am very excited! I will keep you guys updated on progress. I have been doing M, W, F lifting with dumbells in my garage. Doing 5x5 increasing the weight Squats/ Bench/ Shoulder Press then alternate weeks Squats/ Bench/ Dead Lift... It's what I have to work with so I am making it work!

  4. Hey Folks, Let me tell you a little about myself that way you can get a better understanding of why this forum intersts me. I started at 6'2 360 lbs at the start of 2011. At the begining of the year I decided that it was time for a change and I started going to the gym doing mostly cardio and tried to watch what I eat. Over the course of a couple months I lost weight and felt better but dropped the gym cardio. I would ebb and flow with my diet but kept really good habits. The biggest thing was cooking myself or with my girlfriend more, stopped fast food, drank only water (TONS) and coffee. Weight just started to keep shedding off. Around May, 2011 I started making sure I was keeping a calorie defecit according to what my body burned and I took up hiking on the weekend. A quick update of where I am now: 280lbs! Before I get into something I research it painstakingly. I was running for a couple months but came to the conclusion I really need to be lifting heavy weight. A few weeks ago I read starting strength and am making due with a M, W, F routine I have set up in my garage. Naturally watching what I eat I cut a lot of carbs out of my diet just by making healthier choices but kept oatmeal in the morning and maybe a slice of bread with lunch. After reading about Paleo and finding the NF rebillion I decided to give it a shot! I am super stoked to maintaining a Paleo/Primal lifestyle. Oh, should I do one of these challenges that just started? I am a newbie. Thanks for listening!
