  1. I think I fell completely off the wagon for more than a week. Isn't it amazing how easy it is for days to add up? I feel like I spend more time getting back on track then actually being on track. I can't give up though. I'm so close to reaching a milestone, the last thing I want is to start going in the other direction. Just thought I would "confess my sins". Glad to see plenty of people are still doing well though.
  2. I have to be subjected to the gym music when I work with my trainer, otherwise I bring my ipod. Yesterday they played "Everybody Dance Now" (not sure if that's the actual name, but...) Really. They did that. Sometimes I think that I need to anonomously drop some CDs off at the desk. As far as music for me. I'm all over the place as far as genres... good beats, fast paced, and if they have some strong "I'm gonna kick your ass" lyrics, that's a bonus.

  4. I was just reading the dumbell vs. bar bench press. And the whole mention of one arm being stronger than the other got me thinking. My left arm seems like it's a million times (slight exaggeration) weaker than my right. Like my right arm could do a few more reps, and my left arm is no longer able to lift the weight (this is with dumbells). Is there any good way to kind of even that discrepancy out, or is it just normal because everyone has a dominant side? Just kind of curious about it.

  7. Hang in there. I weigh in tomorrow, and I'm a little nervous about it myself. I didn't have such an awesome weekend, or week for that matter. Just get back on track, that's all you can do.
  8. I'm still here... Um, pretty bad week with the diet. It's more difficult than I thought. Anyway, getting back on the horse AGAIN. Need to make sure I cook for myself. I think that helps a lot. I planned my meals out, so all I need to do is follow through.
  9. I think it's probably different for everyone. Mine grew a lot when I gained, but didn't get super small again when I lost (I'm back up again now).

  11. Today is good. Still sick. Actually made my breakfast today, so it was paleo. Going out to lunch, but I know where I'm going, and paleo is doable (minus the grass fed meat), and there is ground beef defrosting for dinner... Not quite sure what I'm going to make with it. If nothing else, I'll just chop some veggies and mix it all together and eat it like that. Other stuff is still going good... quads are super sore from my workout on Tuesday, so I'm loving that. Worked out on the elliptical last night, and that went really well. I'm think even though I'm still sick, that my energy isn't zapped like it was last week. So yeah, I'm not completely upset about the eating stuff. Especially since I'm getting back on track today. Thanks for all the check ins.

  13. So, here's the deal. I'm failing miserably at paleo. Everything else is going pretty well. I was feeling so moody yesterday, like I wanted to just give up. Not sure what was wrong. I'm feeling much better today. Little more positive, still sick (uhhh, hello, cold, can you please leave my body, you've hung on long enough). So that's the update.
  14. I need a reboot. ugh. I also need for this sickness to let go already. I don't usually stay sick for this long. I had a good workout today. Legs were toast at the end. I wish I loved eating healthy food as much as I love lifting weights. I'm gonna stop here, cause I'm in a strange mood today. I think bed, and new day tomorrow are in order. Glad to hear all the positive results.

  16. Eh... so the weekend didn't go so well. Actually, yesterday didn't go too bad. I failed on the paleo, but got the 4th workout in. Today was kind of just craptastic. No excuses or anything. Just reporting the facts. I guess the bad weekend brings my average for this week down to like a C+. Besides the paleo goal though, my goals went well. I'm gonna try to make sure I go to bed at a decent time tonight so I don't get thrown off tomorrow.
  17. Ugh, I think I had that same sinus/cold/snot thing. I am just feeling tonight that it might finally be going away. I've just been coughing today, but not constantly. I hope that goes away soon for you, cause I know it massacred my cardio on Saturday. I went waaay slower than usual, and felt like I had worked a lot harder.
  18. Made today my "cheat" day. I was planning on Saturday, but tomorrow is going to be easier to stick to paleo than today was. Woke up late + a lot going on. But it was fun. Went to the fall festival at my son's school... his dad came along too. We all had pizza and ice cream. Very nice family day. The best thing is since this was a planned cheat, I don't feel all down on myself and guilty like I usually do AND I didn't go overboard. Even though today's meals were not paleo, I didn't go way over the calories that I should be taking in. I was kind of hoping that I could hit the gym too, but there just wasn't time. But, I'll have no problem getting a workout in tomorrow morning and I kind of want to do Bikram yoga on Sunday (I always regret this decision when I get there). If I'm able to get those two in, I'll be at 5 workouts for this week. Good Night all and have a fantastic weekend.
  19. Les68cn: The batter is the best part! lol... after I tasted it I tossed the bowl and beaters in the sink and filled it with water... problem solved.. hehe. lutzy: Steal away! It's so hard for me. I have a kind of test of that tonight, so we'll see how that goes.. it's a baby step, but it's a step. And I also took the first step the other day with the other person. There is more to come with both of them though, so we'll see how that goes. Thanks for the support all.

  22. You're doing great on your eating, and that is really the key part to losing weight. Good for you to not giving in to emotions. I had a really big problem with emotional eating too, but I always just felt worse afterwards. Stay strong!
