Right? Like, I ate salad. That should be a ten pound loss right there. And then I exercised for 50 minutes, that should be at least 20 pounds lol

It certainly seems to work like that in reverse.    I faceplant a pizza? - gain 10 pounds.  Have some ice cream - another 7.  It would be only fair.

Down again but continues to slow down.  Food day at work Wednesday was a disaster.  I had a really good weigh in the morning of and I was super motivated to just be reasonable... I did manage a 15 hour fast before eating anything but once I started eating it was all so good that I was far from reasonable.  At least dinner out that night got cancelled.  Weight jump wasn't as bad as I had feared but it's been slow to recover since plus a migraine over the weekend.  This coming week brings another dinner out and some extravagances over the weekend to manage.

In non-scale news, I've got a pair of shorts that, when I bought them, were far too tight and I got WW to move the buttons so I could do them up. Yesterday I had to move the buttons again, this time to tighten them back up, and I've taken them in about 2" from where they were. Add to that that I'm 2 belt notches tighter than I was at the start of the year, progress has definitely been made.

Well done!  Love those non scale victories!

Well, dang. I woke up really bloated today. My fingers hurt. So I'm going to make a pitcher of green tea, go for a few walks, and avoid salt today. Sheesh.

    And a banana!

Technically that's Saturday's weigh-in, but today's is artificially high, so, yeah.  The scale is going down, yay!  Stress has gone way up, boo!  Really hoping the stress level follows the scale, but suspect it's likely to go the other way.  Depends very much on whether I get laid off this week or not, but either way having an answer will probably at least temporarily drop the stress level.  Last week they announced a big "workforce reduction" at my place of employment, with most people affected being notified by the end of this week.  The being in limbo state right now is not great. :(

Boo.  I hope you hear no news or good news by the end of the week!

This ALWAYS happens at the dentist too!!  One time the hygienist and I watched the end together before she called the dentist back lol

My dentist office has TVs on the ceiling above the dentist chair and they give you the remote.  But then the hygienist gets all up in my face for some reason and blocks the TV!  😁

I got to my appt early and they took me back immediately! I was done with the whole thing before my appt officially started.  It wasn’t too bad, soreness is pretty low on the scale.

Poor Dad got the stomach bug so I stopped at the store for bland food on the way home.   I didn’t get the quiet I wanted but it’s okay. I’m feeling better anyway.

Maybe you need to bring a book and just go back to the doctor's office and sit and have a quiet read.  I always like that my doctor's office has HGTV on and I can watch some home improvement show.  Although I hate when I miss the big reveal.

  6. Day 19 - Friday

DDG and I went out for a walk and drove by the lot for the new house.  They finally broke ground a week before and on Friday we could see the basement walls had been poured.   We got a 3 mile walk in and then had some Totino's pizza for dinner once we got home and showered.

    Day 20 - Saturday

I slept in a great deal and had just enough time to chat on the phone with Peach before the empanadas were delivered by the neighbor.    We spent the entire afternoon running errands that shouldn't have taken all day but somehow they always do.  We intended to do some painting prep work for the weekend's house project but were were out of steam by the time we got home and I had planned to do the batch cooking a day early.  On our walks over the past week we've been able to smell people grilling burgers so we had a pretty string hankering for grilled meats.   So we grilled some chicken brats, some burgers, and some marinated chicken thighs to supply us for the whole week.  Saturday's dinner was burgers that had some garlic butter mixed into the center, bacon, cheddar and jack cheese, and grilled brioche buns served with salads.  They definitely hit the spot

    Day 21 - Sunday

I slept in again and after a little bit of relaxing on the couch we decided to get our butts moving on some painting.  We elected for an easy lunch of sandwiches so I opted for a LB and Doritos sandwich, with some grapes.  Then we got to work.  We were painting the stairs leading up to the hallway and the hallway.  The hallway has 5 doors that all needed trim work repainted and then we needed to run borrow a ladder to get the walls above the stairway.  It was all much more work than we expected and we didn't finish until evening and still had to run the ladder back.  I was so very glad we had already done the batch cooking.  We did stop for mini Blizzards during our trip out to pick up the ladder.   I did throw some baby potatoes in the air fryer (tossed in mayo, grated parmesan, and some spices) and we had those with the grilled chicken and salads.

    Weekly Summary

Overall this was a pretty good week.  Weight loss is slowing down but as long as it stays around 1 pound a week consistently I'm perfectly happy.   I'm consistently well under my calorie threshold but I think my margin of error on my logging requires it and perhaps it is set too high anyway.  Now that I'm getting used to a couple hundred calories less per day without all the candy, I'm finding it easier to eat a little less when we go out.  This is a pleasant outcome.  I have a couple meals planned for this coming week.  Hopefully I find similar results.

I have been hitting the right quantity of workouts.  Still no rucking but pace is staying higher than our previous average.

    W4 4/15: 255.6 (-0.8)

Progress is slowing down but still in the right direction.  Lowest weigh in for the week was Saturday but couldn't maintain over the weekend.  I'm not displeased with the week but I wish the gain over the weekend just made more sense.  I am a bit more lenient with the quality (fried empanadas, PB and Doritos sandwich) but I was well under calorie goal all weekend and active.   Oh, and there was a mini Blizzard.  But still, well under calories.  I'm not giving up Blizzards so there's that.

Looking forward to see what this week brings.   There's a food day at work and DDG and I have a dinner out planned - on the same day as the food day.  Then a concert on Saturday that will likely end up with a dinner out.  As long as I can lock in the other 5 days and keep those two days reasonable I should be fine. 🤞  Yikes, I also have a catered breakfast tomorrow with a vendor in town at work.  I would normally skip breakfast and am debating not eating but it feels like it will be awkward if everyone else is eating.  And breakfast foods are my favorite.

  8. Day 17 - Wednesday

Hit the gym after work and had a session with the trainer.  This workout was a doozy and quads DOMS are kicking in now.  Also did some stretching but completely forgot to include any primal squat mobility.  Dinner was leftover chicken and spinach stuffed pasta.   All goals met and 244 calories left over.

    Day 18 - Thursday

Work from home day since DDG had the car all morning.  I debated having my usual lunch or cooking something since I had the benefit of being at home.  I decided to have the usual lunch since it works so well, then realized I had forgotten to make overnight oats the night before.   So cooking it was.  I settled on a breakfast skillet and then realized we were also out of eggs.  I made a skillet anyway with hashbrowns, bacon, and cheese.  I had the freggies that I usually bring to work and then a low cal english muffin to bring the calories up a bit,  It was difficult to resist snacking in the afternoon but I just held out for a banana.  I wasn't really that hungry anyway.

I barely got any steps in since I wfh.  I'm not sure how those of you who do this everyday get any steps in at all.  I did still have class to teach so I at least got some steps there.  Calorie burn for the day came very close to target (2400).  I would normally round up for the goal if I felt like I had been busy and not been a couch potato, but I literally did nothing else other than class.  Dinner was leftover stuffed pasta but we were a little short of a whole portion so I just double the garlic bread.  😋Then we sat on the couch all evening while I worked on Peach's crochet blanket and we started a new series to binge.   All goals other than the move goal met.  260 calories left over.

  9. Day 15 - Monday

I did manage to hit all goals but freggies were low and I barely hit the mark with just a single serving at lunch. I got busy in the afternoon and never got around to my afternoon snack with freggies, and then we had dinner plans out.  We met DDG's sister at a burger place.  I got the garlic smash burger with provolone cheese and some breaded garlic cheddar cheese curds on top.  Instead of fries I ordered the potato soup.  I started with half the burger but then ate another quarter because there was a cheese curd on that portion.  I aimed for half of the soup but ended up being more like 3/4.  Overall I was pleased.  I did leave feeling a little full but I didn't feel stuffed or gross.  The fullness grew a little into the evening but I was happy to have left food on the plate and skipped fries entirely.  They are the devil and they didn't even really look that good.  Finished the day with 277 calories left over.

    Day 16 - Tuesday

Got busy with a hectic afternoon and skipped afternoon freggies again.  I did grab a granola bar as I was flying out of work to get to class on time.   I had to stop at a visitation after work for a coworker's mom who had recently passed away so I got home a little later than normal.  But DDG and I still made it out for a walk.  I took him out to see the new walking path in the neighborhood.  Dinner was leftover chicken and spinach cannelloni pasta with low cal english muffin garlic toast.   All goals met, got a workout in, and had 373 calories, including exercise calorie, leftover.   Scale says I'm working my way through the salty carb bloat from Monday's dinner but I'm still a little behind.

I'm so sorry to hear about your coworker's passing - be kind to yourselves as you get through this. I can't even imagine how it would affect your office. Hopefully productivity is the last thing on management's mind right now. ❤️

And well done on keeping with your goals this week! Your hard work is paying off!!

    Thanks for your support 💜

I think that feeling of wishing to do more is normal, but it sounds like you did help by alerting people and letting the folks with more recent training help. I do know that feeling too well though and its a hard one to deal with 💜

We did finally learn a little bit more about what the professionals think happened, doesn't sound like knowing CPR would have made any difference.  The only thing that would have no one would have been able to know to do.   I did look around for some cpr training that might be covered by our company.  I think it would be good to share with the whole office as I'm sure others have concerns about knowing what to do in these situations.
