  2. It definitely does save a lot of time. It also requires a lot less thought, so that's always a good thing! Thanks! I'm pretty proud of myself! Day 9 - -HIIT/Cardio (burpees/jump rope) Done! - Food logged in MFP -Water gone! Update on the book. I read on a Nook Simple Touch, and it says there are a little over 700 pages. I'm about 150 pages in at just over a week. I think that's a great start and if I keep up this pace I should be well on my way to finishing the book by the end of the challenge.

  6. Day 8 - Since the hubs and I skipped our Saturday morning lift session and decided on an extra rest day, I have to catch up on a workout. SO, I adjusted my week, and although I lose my rest day this coming weekend, it will put me right back on track. So, today was a lift day instead of a cardio day... - Bench press 5x5 @ 100lbs - Back Squat 5x5 @ 100lbs (working back towards 135lbs!) -Push ups 3x10 (GOODBYE GIRLY PUSHUPS!!! All 3 sets were regular push ups!) -Plank :30x3 -Food is completely tracked for the rest of the day -Gallon jug is 3/4 empty!

  9. Checking in from XCOM! Sounds like your first week went well, even with the extra rest day in there! After reading through everything, I realize you could probably lift me with one finger! Awesome! I'm a Heavy in training! I recently fell in love with lifting, and I have a Rogue fairy in my garage! Apparently, there are a lot of people who want Rogue fairies! They are fantastic, and they bring heavy thing to lift! I hope you have an awesome week this week!
  10. I think I did my first last August? I will have to link it again in my signature if it's not there. I started a second challenge with the scouts and that's when I fell out of love with running (at no fault of theirs). This is technically my third, but I never finished my second. I did extremely awesome on my first though. I'm not sure where that motivation his for so long but it's back and I love it! It just resides in a different love now. I'm slightly obsessed with the rogue fairy that lives in my garage. She's big, she's made of steel and keeps my ego in check!   11. Oh boy! I forgot about that post! I should probably go ahead and update that. I am holding off on that goal, for the time being anyway.   12. So, ignore the icky bread and the randomness in the middle of the top shelf. But here we have breakfast lunch and dinner for the next two weeks! List of everything in the freezer at the current moment, after the photo. I can also provide links and recipes as well! It is all Paleo friendly/gluten free. Pizza casserole, steak kabobs, chicken kabobs, spicy sausage stuffed peppers, chicken enchilada casserole, Mexican shredded chicken. Very Greek grilled chicken, chicken hurry, Caribbean chicken, lemon and garlic chicken, sticky chicken, Cantonese chicken. (The last 6 are just the chicken in their marinades. Sides are frozen veggies and roasted sweet potatoes.), meatloaf muffins, breakfast egg muffins (eggs, sweet potatoes and veggies baked in a muffin pan), and a few breakfast burritos (the egg crepes you use as tortillas are a pain to make so I stopped at 3!) I am about to add shredded Mexican chicken in 4 oz. bags for snacks as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  14. Day 4 - -50/50 squats done for XCOM -Workout done: Deadlift 3x5 @135 Push Press 5x5 @ 85 (time to add some weight!) Lunges 3x16: took it easy with the lunges and just did bodyweight for all three sets Pull up max x3: I use 2 bands (green and black): 7, 6, 5 Hanging Knee Tuck 3x10: these are starting to get a lot easier! I'll be doing knees to elbows before you know it! -Food logged in MFP -Water downed! Day 5 - -Cardio/HIIT Done! (intervals of burpees and jump rope...Jellooooooooo) -Food logged in MFP -Water gone! Day 6 - -Rest DAY!!!!! -Food logged -Water gone! Day 7 - Workout SKIPPED!!! Extra rest day? nah...going to make it up tomorrow after some much needed speed work! Food logged! Water level over 3/4 and pretty close to Zero! I feel like I've done pretty good this week! We usually do our third strength/lift session on saturday mornings but we skipped it because hubs had to do homework. Then he had to finish it up this morning. It's pretty much guaranteed that we skip a session if we don't do it first thing in the morning. I know better! But, we did get two weeks worth of meals prepped and frozen! I will share my food porn shortly! I hope all of my fellow XCOM members had a great week! I will be checking in on you all throughout the evening!

  18. Day 3 recap: -Cardio/HIIT training done -Food logged in MFP -Water jug emptied -about to sit down and dive into this book! I need to figure out how to win the lottery. It seems that the rogue fairy is slightly obsessed with the green stuff and the likelihood of her showing up increases as the dollar amount increases. Or a money tree. That would work as well. I have an addiction to paper and notebooks. I write everything, multiple times, in many different places. I also have some sort of OCD where if I'm writing in pen and I mess up, I have to write the entire page over. White out is not an option in most cases...it bothers that OCD as well. Strange, I know. My quads are sore this evening, as is just about everything else. Tomorrow is squat day. *drool* I love squat day! Will doing that also help with the hamstrings as well? I'm assuming. I've read a lot on squats recently, and I have read a lot about "butt wink" (ha ha ha...who came up with that term?!). I can get pretty low in a bodyweight squat. I'm talking butt about 3 inches from the ground, but about halfway between 90 degrees and that 3 inches my hips/pelvis start to rotate under. Most of what I've seen says that's usually caused by short/tight hamstrings. Still learning over here, so I'm picking the brain of anyone who will let me! So, all in all today was pretty good for the challenge side of life. Not so much in the personal one though. Got some heartbreaking news last night of my Grandma passing. She was a pretty important person in my life, but I made sure to make my goals a priority among all of the emotion and I didn't let it derail me in the food department. So, if I seem like I'm not keeping up at all in the next few days, don't worry, I will get back into it. Just trying to focus on keeping this up to date, and staying active in XCOM. P.S. You guys are awesome! I don't know why I ever strayed from this community last year. The support is incredible!
  19. Sprint intervals done! :30 high, 1:00 low x 10. Increased my high from :15, dropped intervals to 10. Didn't get much sleep last night and I could definitely tell this morning. Warmed up good before sprints and my quad felt great! No strains, pulls, or any pain or soreness at all. By 10, I was struggling to keep going.   22. Day 1 done! -Food diary completed on MFP -Morning 1.5 mile run and mid morning HIIT workout done -Gallon jug emptied -Need to get Game of Thrones on my e-reader! Tall order for me to read that much, but I'm positive I can do it in 6 weeks. Day 2 in the books! -Food diary completed for the day on MFP! -Nerdfitness Academy Barbell Level 1 A done (spent some time working on squat form- bar to warm up, 65lbs for 5x5, working back up to 135lbs) -Jug done! I absolutely carry my gallon jug EVERYWHERE! -Putting Game of Thrones on my Nook as I type this! Tomorrow, sprint intervals! I'm excited to get back to it. Definitely going to play it safe. If for any reason it starts to feel off or sore I will either adjust my speed or just stop. I definitely don't want to injure it again, and I'm going to be damn sure to warm up properly beforehand. And again, thanks for all of the advice and support! Definitely one of my favorite things about this community!
  23. This mornings workout was great! Warmup Barbell bench 5x5 @100 Barbell back squat 5x5 @65 Push ups 3x10 Plank 3x :30 Stretch Walked the mall for 2 hours and hit my step goal by noon! @Why not?, just further than shoulder width, pointed my toes out slightly more than I was and voila, balance issue just about resolved. Form was spot on. Warmed up with the bar, then added 20 lbs. Going to start working back up to 135 slowly. I do need to do some work on my hamstrings so I can get lower but my form right now is looking good, and I'm learning where to focus my energy a lot better. @Salivanth, that is one of my favorite stretches! I don't remember what it's called either. I also find that rocking side to side while doing it helps a lot too. I've been doing a ton of runners lunges to get it all stretched out and body weight lunges felt awesome this morning. No pulling or soreness at all. So, I'm going to go ahead and do sprint intervals in the morning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I absolutely lost count on squats today. I definitely remember counting 20/50 bodyweight squats, so just under halfway there. Sprint Intervals in the AM. Following all of my fellow squadies! When do we get to start shooting aliens?
  25. I've never been a burpee person, but strangely I think I like them.
