  1. 800 calories. not terribly proud but i exercised today and it's technically under my 1400 budget. moving along...
  2. not gonna bother writing it all down because the convention is next week, but i have had 600 calories so far today and i plan to have more as soon as i can bump a few more prints out
  3. had some sweet potato chips yesterday, bringing me up to about 1400 calories. today i ate some korean street food and if you did not know that is carb heaven. and then after that i had some frozen yogurt with mochi and almonds.......... least paleo day ever so i am not even going to waste my time thinking about the calorie count and i'll start over fresh tomorrow uou i didn't overeat and that's good enough for me honestly *^* prints prints prints!
  4. calorie total for yesterday was about 1300, haven't calculated today. HERE WE GO beef strip: 300c lettuce: 15c kimchi: 100c tofu: 100c anchovies: 50c rice: 425c apple: 100c watermelon: 100c which brings me up to about 1200 calories. right on track! i took some body measurements today and wouldn't you know, some of my measurements are going down! it's just a centimeter here and there but it's really encouraging. getting rid of that chicken fat one eating decision at a time. finally got a print done today, but i've hit kind of a roadblock - i've been drawing too much and now i've got some strained muscles in my wrist. i'm stretching like a demon and trying to make sure i can get through another couple of prints tomorrow but i don't think i'm going to make my goal. ;; too bad...
  5. caved and had some salad after the rice meal. successfully avoided biscuits. yeehaw. final calorie total today: 1100. ish. much better! got some of my drawings done today! just need to go through the final stage tomorrow and fiiingers crossed to have two done and four more in the oven. i should have six in the oven but i am juggling all of these irons and they are no longer in the fire. in the fire!!!! sleeping again at an early hour uou let's do this...
  6. i ended up having more carbs than i intended to yesterday, aaagh. biscuit: ballparking it at around 200. shrimp: 300c rice: 300c salad: 15c 1665. drags hands over face. i am never letting my parents feed me again. cutting it down today. apple: 100c sweet potato: 320c i might have the same rice meal i did yesterday (without the sweet potato), which will bring me around to about 1000c. tbh i might just keep it there and add some dried anchovies maybe. thank god i never had a soda problem. my only enemy is carbs... delicious carbs ;; worked out, body lifts/cardio, etc. tried my first planks today! those are freakin' TOUGH. still on level 2 on the angry birds challenge when it comes to squats (15 - 10 - 15 - 10) but i think i'll make it all the way by the time the end of the 6 week challenge. the knee pain is gone so i think it was just an injury i had before that i needed to recover from. i'm still on level 1 when it comes to push ups, so that just leaves the back exercises... gotta integrate all of those exercises, slowly inching my way up! total break day tomorrow! yaaay. gotta draw instead. god i have so much drawing to do. i accidentally fell asleep at around 8 pm yesterday and woke up at 3 so i'm pretending i'm having an adult day like an adult when in all actuality my internal clock is just as confused as ever. OH WELL okay. shower, draw, kamen rider. GO
  7. cup of rice: 300c spinach: 30c bean sprouts: 20c fried eggs: 200c sweet potato: 300c i only drink water nowadays... it's a little boring, but eh. sacrifices. this puts me at about 850 calories so far today, but i'm already full... what do i do? i mean i think i'm gonna get hungry later but i don't really know what i'll eat then... ... maybe getting that coconut butter was a better idea than i thought it would be. oooof. got through my jog today, did not do body weight lifts, etc etc. if i have the rest of that sweet potato that sits me at about 1200 calories and that's fine tbh, i had too much to eat on wednesday anyway. uwu all right, drawing time!
  8. FOODWISE, TODAY WAS INTERESTING because today was the first time i actually knew how many calories were going in. roughly. ish. cup of rice: 300c kimchi (pickled vegetables): 50c two strips of beef: 600c lettuce: 15c sweet potato: 480c total: 1445c Which is about where I want to be when it comes to losing weight! I feel a little tired but I am pretty sure it's just because I had a late night last night. turns out my mom was all about how to make sweet potatoes and it took like two seconds to steam one up and put a little cinnamon on top... good stuff. except for the lettuce i think i am set for having the same meal tomorrow? what if i could replace my rice serving with sweet potato... it's kind of tempting considering how nice it was. i am thinking about it. also thinking about getting a jar of coconut butter and melting it on top of the sweet potato, topping it with cinnamon, and having that for dessert. honestly that sounds pretty delicious, but i'm saving that idea for a reward for doing something big. like finishing my prints? yeah...... yeah i'll go with that. jogged for about 10 minutes today, light aerobics, at level 2 when it comes to the angry birds challenge (squats edition!). 15 squats, 10 squats, then 15 squats, then 10 squats... it was actually pretty difficult and my knee kind of hurts? i'm gonna see if the pain comes back on Saturday before seeing if I've got a form problem or what mmmmostly i just want to get some proper sleep tonight ;; i was out late at a friend's place and we had pork and okonomiyaki and kimchi fried rice... i probably shouldn't have had so much rice but i was the one cooking it. SELF CONTROL AT MINIMUM WHAT UP. OOOH oh if you ever get a chance to make kimchi fried rice (and get away with it because again i am not taking rice out of my diet ever) get a can of salmon and dump it in with the fish oil right after you dump in the eggs, trust me, it's INCREDIBLE. i had noodles in black bean sauce and potato and zucchini and more pork before that. wow.... actually, how do i eat that much? where did it all go...? (at least i worked out for about an hour yesterday. i feel like i made up for a lot. still...) back to drawing. sheesh i have so much to do...
  9. I swear I'm gonna get to all of these replies but I'M KIND OF FREAKING OUT and I need to get this emotion out before I get really discouraged and freaked out. I finally got a hold of a scale today, and it looks like I weigh in at about 125 pounds... and that's conservative! Add that to all of the measurements I've been taking and I think I come in at a total of about 30% body fat... I feel like I've been running a lot over the past couple of months, and to think that my body fat is still that high (and has probably been that high for a really long time) it feels like I haven't done anything at all. It's really scary! I'm not large and I don't look large at all so it's not a huge blow to my ego when it comes to the way I look, but it's just like... Have I really been that close to unnacceptable amounts of body fat this entire time? Yeesh. Golly. I mean, now that I've had some time to calm down, this is actually pretty encouraging. I do want to slim down and look physically slimmer and I was always worried that this was where I would plateau... I don't think that's the case any more! It just seems like there's a lot of work to do from here. Anyway, that's my freakout moment of the day, haha. I've already had my water, I'm gonna do my jog, and I've already graduated to level 2 on my angry birds challenge! I'm gonna try some planks when I get back home and I'm working on some of my prints right now. Boy, do I have a lot of work to do.... Replies coming when I don't have things to do just flying at my face. Golly!
  10. thanks! i'm very averse to hard work but this is me trying to fight back against my terrible habits uwu work work work do stuff do stuff do stuff!
  11. Unfortunately my save file is 400 miles away in another city... So it's not as much a matter of lack of desire as it is me not having time. I love my Shep tho and I will do anything to get my booty back onto saving the world. I actually prefer the art style of the old anime so I'll definitely be looking to find episodes of the old series before the new one uwu I'm actually pretty excited about it! I totally missed out when I was a kid and I'd like to catch up. You're exactly right (and heading to California and seeing the real thing must have been....... different!) Although it's also a localization thing AND a matter of practical adaptation. A lot of the time these days they'll send the costumes over from Toei so Bandai can film up content when the scenes that they have aren't enough or just don't match with the story they're writing! The few times that they kept close to the story from Super Sentai are generally considered pretty bad so I think they've focused on making their own content. That's really interesting though! The culture shock must have been kind of difficult but it still does sound super interesting uwu
  12. I FIGURED IT OUT THIS IS THE MEASUREMENTS POST YEAH Height: 5'3" (160 cm) Weight: 125 lb BF%: ~29% Waist: 29 in (75 cm) Hips: 38 in (100 cm) Arm Circumference: 12 in (31 cm) Thigh Circumference: 23.5 in (60 cm) Calf Circumference: 14.5 in (37 cm) Ankle Circumference: 8.5 in (21 cm)
  13. GOTTA DO STUFF: Finish the rest of my prints byyyy tomorrow aaaaaa Fill out my passport Check out sentai/kamen rider scheduling for October
  14. CURRENT CALORIE INTAKE: 1400-1600 calories (ish. less is better but i'm not gonna kick myself over more) THINGS I AM EATING: rice (1 cup): 250c noodles (1 cup): 200c sweet potato (1 cup): 320 g lettuce (1 cup): 5c kimchi (3 oz): 40c dried anchovies (1/2 oz): 40c beef strips: 300c egg (fried): 100c apple (raw): 100c tofu: (1/2 cup): 100c i love spicy food and i think that might be the only reason why i haven't ever had terrible weight problems - my metabolism is pretty normal but all of the spicy food in my diet encourages stuff to burn fast. i usually eat pretty terribly haha but i think things are gonna change as long as i can keep this up
  15. ANGRY BIRDS WORKOUT Squats: LVL 3 (70 squats) Push ups: LVL 1 (40 knee push ups) Back Exercises: LVL 1 (30 one arm rows) Planks: LVL 2 (2 minutes of planks)
  16. (that's a lie i'll probably cry over this at some point) WARNING: I SWEAR A LOT AND CASUALLY???? I don't actually know if this needs a warning but I'm super abrasive so I'm putting that there so everyone knows. gendered slurs and ableist slurs don't get a pass here tho. shrug I don't really know what to put here and I refuse to get educated, hoo hah. SUPER HERO TIME KAMEN RIDER DIKEIDO GANBARE APPARE etc etc etc HERE WE GO WHAT I USUALLY DO EVERY DAY: 9 - 10 am: wake up, piss and moan about being awake before actually doing shit 10 am - Noon: Exercise! I try to get it out of the way early so the Texas heat doesn't kill me. Noon - 2 pm: Shower, eat, dick around 2 pm - 8 pm: Gradually progress from dicking around to getting work done. 8 pm - Midnight: ~*IN THE FUCKING ZONE*~ i.e. this is when my brain actually kicks into gear and makes a lot of progress in drawing. I also have a meal around here sometimes Midnight - whenever I pass out (usually around 1-2am) Sleep until my alarm hits at 9am, rinse, repeat Notes: Yeah, I only have two meals a day at most. They bounce around from big to small and back to big, but I don't generally eat junk food and my carbs are in really controlled proportions (bowl of rice about a cup and a half big controlled). This was not the case a while back when I was having instant noodles every day. Yeah. It was bad. WHAT I'D LIKE TO DO EVERY DAY: 7am: Wake up sparkly eyed like the sparkly anime shoujo magical girl I am god damn it 7:30: Drink my coffee black like Nanako Dojima 7:45 - 9: Run. Exercise. Kamen Ride. 9-10: Get professional business shit done. 10-noon: Eat, start drawing. noon-6: continue drawing 6-11: watch 5 hours of kamen rider with a box of tissues and save you by simple plan on repeat 11pm: pass out, do the same thing again tomorrow. i am very far from this goal but it sounds genuinely nice. This is something I'd like to do.
  17. Hey! LVL 1 newbie checking in to see what the Scouts are all about. Is this the right place to post what I've been doing for my runs up until now and get feedback, or is there another place for that?
  18. I have no clue! I'll probably want hit up all the nerd areas to pick up plastic nonsense (Akihabara is at the top of my list) and I also want to stop by Harajuku/Shibuya to look at all the pretty clothes... Which is part of the reason why I wanna slim down. I reaaaally wanna look good in those clothes! ... How have I never heard of lang8 before? That sounds like a fantastic resource, I'm down for that! brb trying to figure out how to japanese on this computer, hang on... ã‚れ?ã„ã„ã‹ã€‚。。(笑)ã“ã‚ŒãŒokã¨æ€ã£ã¦ã™ã‚‹ï¼
  19. Jogged today, but gave myself a break on the bodyweight exercises It's the first time I've deliberately stopped to give my muscles a break in a couple of months (all the other times have been absolute no activity days because I knew I was wearing myself out - no jogging, no lifting, nothing.) I'm a little leery about cutting out entire portions of my workout because WHAT IF I'M NOT BURNING OFF ENOUGH CALORIES WHAT IF THE CHICKEN FAT COMES BACK but I'll try to keep it up for the next few weeks so I can make sure to get all that jogging in! It's going to be weird not exercising for a couple hours straight though... Gotta get some draws in today! Lots of intense drawing, actually... I'm supposed to be up to around 8 prints completed by Monday and I have like... four at maximum. My procrastination habits are strong. ;; I haven't played any of my favorite video games in months... I'm bummed.... ... Hey, at least I'll be really in shape. And there's always Kamen Rider! I'll carry on as usual. @ChristArtist: Haha I have no weights and I'm doing bodyweight only... I'd feel a little out of place putting up a video of me just doing little bodyweight squats. I think I'm doing okay, but thank you for the resource! I'll be sure to check it out if things don't feel right. @cn3wton: Thank you! Nothing beats a real class when it comes to a figure drawing class, but posemaniacs does fine if I need a brushup, I totally agree.
  20. Haha, thanks! I've been doing anime shit all my life and I'm beyond trying to justify it now - I don't care if it's everywhere, mine's great and mine's better and I'm only improving as time goes on. I have a tumblr that is... well, ostensibly it's my professional tumblr, but it has more resources for art than actual art that I do. The resources I collect are really illustration focused, and I've been focusing on color over the past few years because I have been struggling with it too! Here it is - most of my resources should be tagged, so if something catches your fancy don't hesitate to click around and browse! If you need further resources to really get cracking at your craft, this blog by John K Stuff has been a huge resource for me when it comes to design and illustration. It's been a huge help in directing my workflow and composition! And, of course, drawing with the right side of the brain, Loomis books, studying illustration masters, master copies, blah blah blah etc. (You've probably heard all that before if you took on an illustration major hahaha) I've been using Painter on and off over the past ten years and although it's not my favorite program, it'll probably click with you pretty fast since it's geared towards letting a traditional painter paint on a computer! Its effects and imitation of various mediums are VERY accurate, if not perfect. Go for it!
  21. I did the squats from the Angry Birds challenge yesterday and today to practice and make sure I have the forms right for when I start the quest on Monday... and my legs are already killing me, dang! I'm doing a stretch that... well, it's this stretch, and it seems to help with the soreness, but I did not expect these squats to be so different from the ones I was doing already! You live, you learn... Been thinking about what I've been eating... I eat a lot of rice and noodles since my diet has been mostly Korean for pretty much all of my life, and I'm not sure if I'd give that up willingly. I've cut down my rice/noodle portions by about half and try to get more veggies, fruit, and meat in me, but I love my carbs! My favorite desserts are sweetbreads and cakes from the Korean bakery in town. I couldn't go full paleo, these foods are too important to me.... it's disappointing. I try to justify this to myself by saying that I actually had a less bodyfat way back when! A while back, I didn't have enough luxury time or energy to make myself anything fancy, so I bought a huge thing of instant noodles and lived off that for about half a year. Bad idea. I'm having a hell of a time getting all this extra fat off when I didn't have a lot at all to begin with... sigh. I'm hoping that going back to the diet I had before will at least get me back to the amount of body fat I had when I left college (now that I'm in a better life situation, this is something I can do!)
  22. I've always wanted to see one of her movies! I read about her on a list of famous women and I always thought she sounded so cool (and beautiful)! Definite someone I'm striving towards. My second Shep is an engineer but I think I'm stuck in ME1 hell forever with him uou Tech powers are not something I am used to when my favorite strategy is RUNNING IN WITH MY SHOTGUN HOWLING AND CRYING AND FORCE-TACKLING EVERYTHING until they are dead, but with time comes finesse, right? Right....? (You are really making me wish I had actually finished ME3 with my Vanguard... I don't think it's ever going to happen, but your zeal is an inspiration.) Ultraman is something I'm beginning to grow a taste for, but I'm not sure if it's my thing quite yet. (I'm talking about this child's TV show like I'm acquiring a taste for liquor or something. Wild.) I missed the Sailor Moon train entirely and got tossed on the CardCaptor Sakura locomotive instead, and now I am so lost and confused in all the current hype... Maybe I'll catch up someday! (Actually, I have to, since I need to keep up with art trends to make relevant art. lackaday.) Oh dude, no, I don't blame eight year old you at all! (I AM a little envious though - being able to see Abaranger and Timeranger when they were airing? Sick.) Super Sentai has a tendency to be way more cutesy than Power Rangers, which is ironically what turned me off to Power Rangers when I was little - I thought it took itself too seriously! So, you know, different strokes. I really enjoy Super Sentai a lot nowadays; after a while you get used to the spandex and cutesiness, and then from therein it's just like... Where have these stories been all my life??? It was like when I discovered Doctor Who except Super Sentai has way more karate and explosions, which is sort of a dealmaker for me. (stopping, stopping...) You grew up on an airforce base? My family and family friends are mostly air force, but they settled down and had family after their active duty was over. You must have some interesting stories! I'll take a look! Thanks!
  23. My strategy with Husks: mash the punchy button, continue crying. (Thank god for my based Vanguard Shep.) I'm really looking forward to picking up ZR now. thank you!
  24. Ruby, you say... What resources are you using for Ruby? I'm slowly starting to pick at this copy of RPGmaker that I bought off a Steam sale a while back and I know that it runs on Ruby... Either way, good luck on your goals! Let's work on that water challenge together. (my eternal quest to get hydrated continues...)
