  1. Starting off the new year (and celebrating my 60th birthday today) here are my level-up plans for January 2016. 32 oz of water daily (water consumption isn't a problem in summer but winter is another story) Bodyweight workout 2x a week NF Yoga 2x a week Home cooked meals except when traveling this month (lots of business trips this month) Also, I've taken new body measurements to start this challenge bust - 42-1/2 waist - 38-1/2 hip - 48-3/4 (note: this is down almost 5" from when I started NF) thigh - 27-1/2 upper arm - 14-3/8
  2. I've never participated in a challenge as I've found the forums scattered and confusing. But as part of my re-spawn/level up I am jumping in for this challenge! BTW, I am active on the FB group :-) This 6-week challenge will overlap with my craziest time of the year, fall semester start up and I want to be more intentional about taking care of myself. FYI, I am a community college professor/distance education coordinator and provide all of the help desk services for faculty and students. Fall starts on Aug 24 but the phone calls begin at least a week earlier. My diet & exercise usually goes to hell in a hand basket for the 2-3 weeks surrounding semester start up and this time IT WILL BE DIFFERENT! For this challenge I will power walk a minimum of 1.5 miles six days a week (it makes my dog happy too), go to my yoga class twice a week and add a home session one additional day, plus start the body weight workouts. Fear has held me back from setting them up as part of my weekly calendar - I am a breast cancer survivor (diagnosed 1996, stage 3B lymph system involvement). I have no lymph nodes in my left armpit and am missing 5 in the right. Originally I was told to only lift 20 pounds and to baby the left arm; but in the past 8 years I've read new studies that indicate the weight training is now considered a helpful part of the long-term recovery. I am no longer under a doctor's care and can't ask but want to carefully move ahead (25 years ago I did lift using gym machines as that was what "girls" did). So power walking (under 15 minutes per mile pace) 6 days a week, Yoga 2x in the studio and once at home every week (I plan on using the yoga program upcoming through Nerd Fitness but until then Yoga with Adrienne) and the NF body weight workouts on the recommended weekly schedule. Pinky swear with you all that this happens!!! Today I did a 2.6 mile walk with my dog pace just over 15 minutes per mile (it's harder with the dog as he HAS to stop and sniff, lol) and did a 75 minute yoga class.
