  1. Bailing on the challenge. Will try again after Christmas. Just don't have the reason for doing this stuff yet, so cant get motivated.
  2. had to search through the pics to find the dog... soo many nice looking foods (just getting caught up, your challenge is amazing!)
  3. More updates: Still walking most days - I'm trying to get out of the office at lunch time, and the mini quest helped to motivate me to climb the stairs to my 7th floor office. The bbw's are going well, still can't believe how much one circuit raises my heart rate. Still no coffee, which is good, no more headaches. Studying isn't going so well, I'm still lacking the motivation to sit down after a long day at work, to do more work... need to think on that one. On a side note - I really want to do a pullup. There's no way it's happening yet, but there is a gym opening 15 feet from the office, so after completing this challenge, I'm either going to get an academy subscription, or a gym membership.
  4. Woah, those drawings are amazing! The tree makes me excited for autumn hope classes are going well, being at uni can make being a rebel difficult, but you can do it!
  5. The rest of last week went well. Culture night Belfast got me out walking, adding a few miles to the count. Very glad I am building up the workouts, not sure I could have done two or three circuits yet.
  6. Excellent mini quest, definitely adding a daily walk up the stairs to the 7th floor in work to the 'new me' lifestyle (doesn't hurt that one of the lifts is broken so at the minute it's faster to walk it!). Come on team! Don't leave me all alone at the top here!
  7. Looking good Aveena! Seems like a good way to get motivated to make changes.Hope you feel better soon!
  8. Well it's.... Thursday (losing track of what day it is, wishing it was Saturday), and the bodyweight workout was great last night. The temptation to sit on my ass and watch twilight was defeated by remembering the recent blog post about motivation, and remembering there's a whole group of rebels out there cheering you on. Shocked at how out of breath I got just doing those simple exercises, but hoping that I see some improvement in that over the next few weeks. PS. I used the vacuum cleaner as my weight because we don't have gallon milk jugs in the UK!
  9. Thanks for the tip I'm going cold-turkey to cut off the habit entirely, I tend to drink more coffee when I'm bored, so the other challenges will hopefully help with that. The headache is down to a dull ache, clocked another mile yesterday, as I wasn't home to do the workout. overall things are looking up!
  10. As long as I dont have a heart attack on the way up, working on the 7th floor this should be... interesting
  11. Woo day one done! The no-coffee thing was harder than I had expected, especially given that my normal routine gives me a nice shot of coffee with sugar in it first thing in the morning. The withdrawal result was a massive headache that no amount of water could ease, and having to stare at computer screens all day didn't help. Anyhoo, I managed to stick at it, so I'm 36 hours (ish) coffee free and even went out for a brisk (for me) walk last night - 1.6 miles in 28 minutes. I'm going to try and post a pic of something challenge related every day to my instagram account (it's not had much use before this) to help me see the achievements in a different way. Tonight: Beginner bodyweight workout.
  12. At the start of my second challenge, I'm hoping to make some progress towards firming-up an epic quest, keeping track of things on here, and becoming a more centred, rounded person. Main Quest: This is rolling over from the last quest; my main goal is to walk from Bag-end to Bree before Christmas (19% down on the 14th Sept) Quest 1: 4 STR / 2 STA Complete the beginner bodyweight workout; One circuit, three times a week for the first two weeksTwo circuits, three times a week for the second two weeksThree circuits (if I can), three times a week for the final two weeks.Quest 2: 1 WIS / 3 STA Daily walks. On all of the days I am not doing the bodyweight workout, I'll be going out for at least a 1 mile walk. Quest 3: 3 CON No more coffee for me. I drink an absurd amount of coffee when sitting at home doing nothing, so the third quest for this challenge is to drop coffee entirely -1 CON for every coffee taken. Life Quest: 2 WIS Read and make notes on at least 6 chapters of the Java Certification textbook. I am yet to start, but passing a Java cert will help to progress my career as well as my overall knowledge. Trying to keep these goals simple as I continue to try and eat as paleo as possible
  13. Reading about epic quests and questioning my commitment to moving out of home after the wedding. Then I remember that my mum's bedroom is next to mine and I realise moving out is part of my epic quest.

  14. Huzzah! completed the first challenge! I'll be heading over to the rangers, I think it fits the kind of exercise and lifestyle I'm aspiring to
  15. Aw man, that sucks about your ankle, hope you're feeling better It can be great fun to play 'walking hide and seek'. Get a few friends and a set area to hide/chase in and go nuts! (I may be a big child). Especially good if you're competitive
