  1. I went from not weighing at all when I didn't want know! To weighing myself everyday.. Am abit scale obsessed these days [emoji15]
  2. I love combat was doing it last night.. Tonight spin and tomorrow Les Mills body attack and then body pump afterwards
  3. Well done on the food I am going out tonight always a temptation to not eat enough during the day to make up for eating too much and drinking later tonight!! No gym today either because I am going out.. I have mucked out 6 horses though and plan to ride 2 I never drink enough water either and also drink too much diet coke!!
  4. Hey hun found you and subbing!! it's amazing starting to notice the difference in your fitness isn't it? I noticed it riding 1st when I didn't come out of the ring gasping for breath after a round of showjumps! will join the Adventurer challenge not sure what guild I should join after that though not really looked into what suits me..

  6. So I have been here about a week, contributed to a few threads.. Got at by the punctuation and grammar police!! [emoji15] so I thought maybe would introduce myself properly [emoji6] I'm Steph last year I was overweight for my height, so I did something about it.. I went from a cheesy chip and pizza junkie having never set foot in the gym, to trying to be mostly good and became a gym addict!! [emoji2] This is me in May 2013.. And me in June last year err sorry about the pony pictures!! [emoji52] These pictures were taken July this year [emoji4] And these shorts were my favourite.. Am now maintaining I still fall off the food wagon now and again but that's okay as long as I am good most of the time I did drop too low at 1 point not an unhealthy bmi for my height but my ribs I felt were too visible, I think we get so used to losing when it comes to maintaining I found it hard to steady my weight!! Myfitnesspal helps alot I now use it to maintain [emoji6] good luck to everyone else on their journey my goal now is errr rock hard abs!! when I like cake, wine and vodka not sure how possible this!! Even with the amount of time I spend in the gym!!

It's tough for us short people we tend not to carry weight too well I am also 5ft 2 btw and originally I wanted to get down to 126 pounds so 9st am now alot lighter than that basically through working out in the gym but trying to be good with my diet too.. You actually eat better than I do I still have a sweet tooth and I like to go out and have a drink.. Hopefully 1 of the experts on diets will give you some good advice because I would of thought on 1400 calories you should be losing.. I track my food on myfitnesspal still now for maintenance.. Do you weigh your food so you know 1400 calories is what you are getting? I would be really hungry on that low amount of calories with the activity that I do.. To maintain without all the excersize myfitnesspal tells me I need 1830 calories.. I never eat back all of my excersize calories but make sure I eat back enough to stay where I am and not drop lower.. Good luck hope you get some helpful advice x
  9. Hey good luck on your journey I am in the UK too West Berkshire I went from having never set foot in the gym to being abit addicted!! Myfitnesspal is a huge help weigh your food too it's very easy to estimate wrong how much a portion is.. I love my Sci fi too btw I am now maintaining and because I do alot of excersize sometimes having over 2000 calories just to not drop anymore.. I want to look good not be a wrack of ribs!! I went from being overweight for my height only 5ft 2 btw 10st 8 when I stopped burying my head in the sand and jumped on the scale to 7st 7 which I felt was too light currently maintaining between 7st 10 and 7st 12.. I feel fitter than I have ever been at 35 fitter than I ever was in my 20's make small changes don't cut every thing out of your diet though allow yourself cheat days now and again but not all of the time
  10. Did think wow 2 minute plank! Most I have done is 90 seconds.. I had been working out at the gym a while and never thought I could do proper push ups on my toes then one day I tried 10 and just did 10 straight away thought wow I can do 10 proper push ups!! Think weight training Deffinatly helped with this not quite sure how many I can do I can do 30 in 1 go but not exactly pushed until I collapse and physically can't do any more!! it starts to get hard reach 30 and think that's enough!! Great goals btw
  11. The more excersize you do the more calories you will need to fuel yourself.. I am also 5ft 2 I have been maintaining for a while now I started at 148 pounds am now 108 pounds on my day's that I do alot of excersize I am eating over 2000 calories to maintain and not drop any further I use myfitnesspal my maintenance is 1830 calories on the days I work on the yard mucking out stables I also need to take into account the calories I am burning off working as well as the calories I am burning off in the gym.. If your hungry eat to fuel yourself don't beat yourself up about extra calories needed on a particular day.. Guess I am trying to say be good to yourself make good choices with your food 99% of the time obviously throw in the odd cheat day now and again and you will still lose weight
  12. Hey I am no expert like some of these guys I do a combination of both cardio and weight training didn't have as much to lose so when I was still losing weight was losing 2 or 3 pounds a week.. I still use myfitnesspal to track my calories at maintenance found with the amount of excersize I do I need far more calories now to stay the same and not drop.. I went from never having set foot in a gym to being totally addicted! would definitely recommend myfitnesspal and weighing her food it's quite easy to approximate a portion size and realise your actually having a double portion!! Especially with something like cereal.. Vegetables not too bad but I weigh veg too so everything is pretty accurate that I have logged.. I try not to drink my calories unless it's worth it!! Wine and vodka on a night out!! has she tried any classes at a gym? I find I work out better if I have someone to motivate me! My cardio is mainly spin classes and high impact aerobics I also ride my horse nearly every day which apparently also counts as cardio but I just see that as an everyday activity!! I will also do body pump classes 4 times a week this is bench pressing weighted squats mac raises press ups you get the picture will often do a cardio class that makes me really sweat then do body pump afterwards.. My muscles are honestly not to noticeable unless I touch my shoulders!

  14. Deffinatly the amount I have spent on clothes!! Luckily am now maintaining seriously can't get any smaller!! I have recently had a clear out I had clothes in the back of my wardrobe that when I got heavier was trying to ignore the fact they were too tight they are now massively too big!! Since last year have dropped from a UK size 12 to a UK size 6 and spent a fortune on clothes!! I think that is the only downside for me I look better feel healthier and have never been so fit in my life!! My other half is not keen on my biceps!! But I love them and have worked hard to get them I reckon he is just jealous!!
  15. It is very easy to become obsessed with the scale trust me I know!! when I started losing weight at 5ft 2 I was heavier than you.. At 5ft 7 144 is within your healthy bmi range for your height.. You weighed yourself in the evening we always tend to weigh heavier in the evening anyway try not to get down about what the scale says and go by how you feel I seriously need to bin my scale!! I jump on it every day!! Seriously obsessive!! :/
  16. Ok totally my fault!! A week ago had a drunken injury I apparently fell over a foot high wall!! Not that I remember it!! My ankle is still swollen a week later! So I don't want to stop obviously! Really felt it tonight in body attack which is alot of high impact aerobics is not so bad in spin or body pump... Body pump I have just been lowering my squat weight and just keeping the other weights the same as what I was doing spin classes are also less impact .. Since the drunken sambuca incident now over a week ago my ankle is still swollen though and if I am going to continue will probably choose to do spin on Thursday rather than attack.. So err how long! tonight the instructor April her name is said I need to make sure I haven't fractured it!!! Sure I haven't though and probably swelling because I have banged it hard!! Attack is now my favourite class!! So obviously is abit annoying. And well that is it!! No more sambuca it gives me amnesia and is not too clever if I hurt myself!!
  17. Any cardio excersize that makes you sweat will help you lose weight as long as you are not eating more calories than you need.. I tend to mix it up abit tho I do weights as well as aerobics and spin classes am no longer trying to lose though am just maintaining where I am.. If I wanted to lose though I would rein in the calories so they are under maintenance as well as working out

I know what you meen I had a little drunken incident with my ankle it's slightly swollen I have carried on excersizing on it as I don't really want to do nothing found body attack I really felt it because that particular class is high impact aerobics so Thursday I swapped attack for spin which found less hard on it gave myself yesterday off today I was showjumping my horse.. Hopefully it will be good for Monday.. Still also been doing body pump but have kept my squat weight lower than usual
  19. To the original poster find out what works for you track everything don't eat back all of your excersize calories but don't deprive yourself either!! Finding a balance that suits you is key to maintaining or losing weight.. Weigh yourself regularly at the same time of day keeps you on track.. The reason why I found another app to track stuff I do on the yard was on those particular days I was more hungry because I was doing more I was then beating myself up for eating too much or starving myself to stay within my calories!! I dropped down to 105 pounds 7st 7 am 4 pounds heavier than that now up until last week 5 pounds heavier I went from being overweight for my height to being too skinny!! I now track to check am not dropping anymore am pleased tho with the muscle I have built up in the gym not sure my other half is keen on my biceps but recon he's just jealous!!

Errr I use an app that tells me that day I was sweeping and weeding the yard for 2 hours I never said it was accurate it just gives you a rough idea I have a physical job burn far more calories day to day than someone that works in an office.. It's abit like you don't know for certain your burning off 350 calories doing high impact aerobics for an hour everyone is different anyway and take what any app tells you with a pinch of salt!!
  22. Oh you saying my protein level looks low I posted screen shots of myfitnesspal only to show the original poster how myfitnesspal works for me not for you to pick apart my crappy diet!! I don't eat meat so all my protein has to come from fish.. Am not over estimating how much I burn off either if I don't eat all of the calories back..
  23. It doesn't matter though all estimated excersize calories are only rough if you notice I never ate back all of those calories I supposedly burned off.. That particular day I was mucking out stables find on those days I need more calories to keep going was also a day I spent 2 hours in the gym.. My excersize total in hours on that particular day was more than what you did running your half marathon guessing it took you 2 hours maybe a little more.. I think the point is to maintain don't eat back all your excersize calories that you supposedly burned off according to some app eat if your hungry and feel you need more to keep going.. I have actually lost weight in the last week when I am supposed to be maintaining!!
