  1. Wait, I want to tell you that I love it more!!! I love the bright bright blue you picked out for part of it. You're quite the artist!
  2. All the food... bless you for all the food... I'm stealing the chicken recipe you posted, but I'll be omitting some of the spicy stuff... I don't do well with spicy. The kettle bell workout looked pretty serious! Nice job! I checked out that timeline for the whole30 and I'm looking forward to "I just need a nap" days more than "kill everything!" days...
  3. Sloooow down there, partner. God's still in control. 1. Eat food. Doing several workouts a day and not fueling your body could mean bad news bears. Remember what the Nerd Fitness articles say! Steve works out less than an hour a day and eats as much as he wants of good healthy food. Your fiance (and all us here) probably wants you to be healthy and safe. This might have been a fluke day, I just want to make sure I get that out there. 2. Clean your house. Seriously! What will it hurt to do it? And it will bless your mom. Don't do it expecting her to sing your praises, either. Just do it because God says to honor your parents, your mom happens to be one of them, and she wants you to clean the house. Christ came as a servant and washed peoples' feet. Follow His example and serve your family just for the joy of serving. See if that doesn't up your endorphins. It may also make you feel less like being away from your family. Relationships are hard, but they're also the most important thing we're here for. First, our relationship with God. He cares for you, LostOne. And you know you can trust Him. (2Th 2:16-17 NKJV) "Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work."
  4. They like you, they like you! We like you, too! Congrats on the great year! And here's to another one in 2015!
  5. I love textures. Of food, that is. I like crunchy crackery things and gooey granola bar things. I miss that CRUNCH of something crackery and that sticky wonderful gooey bar of yummines. I'm avoiding nuts... so no lara bars even (so delicious). Also gluten - so all things cracker are out. And, well, processed foods... so I should stop thinking about these things! After tracking my food I've discovered apples, bananas, and chocolate (thank you day I freaked out and ate a bunch so I could add chocolate to my list of foods that antagonize my GI tract...) cause symptoms. Which... might mean... maybe... that I should avoid fruit until my body deals with whatever sugar issues it is having. Sweet potatoes are on my list of suspicious things as well. I haven't looked this up yet, but it seems like they'd have a higher sugar content. What with being "sweet" potatoes and all. It may seem bad, since I love fruit, but it is really GOOD news in disguise! I might be a step closer to figuring out what is wrong with my body! Some friends of mine through out the C-word (candida) the other day... DUN DUN DUN! Haha, who knows? Anyway, I'll try to cut fruit in addition to all that other stuff and see how things go. Also, my boys are being troopers through all of this and learning to eat a lot of interesting veggies. They can still eat over at Granny's and share in cookies and stuff with their buddies, but at home we're pretty strict.
  6. One day I'll live up to the glory of Mrs. Norse there. We have to dream big, right? Cast iron skillet is my weapon of choice after watching Disney's Tangled. Not sure if I could embed one into a tree, though... ::Updates HabitRPG ToDo list again:: I don't know why, but point systems seem so much more motivating than letter grades. I'm using a spreadsheet to track my goals and I'm just counting how many days I did stuff. I've seen people give themselves different points for different workouts accomplished, adventures attempted, or even parts of their house cleaned! Maybe next challenge... Thanks, Shipmate! Lookin' forward to sailing with ya! Hahaha, YES!!! Love it! In high school my buddies and I came up with pro wrestling names for each other. Mine was "Yeti" since I had an obese white cat. (Does it really have to make sense?) This is much more suited to me. Randa "The Hammer" Rooskie. Haha, seriously, I'll be cracking up about that for a while now. You're awesome! You and your muffins of meat.
  7. Question-o. On the sweet potato and avocado... I just got used to the taste of avocado in my salad. Mushed up with chicken and bacon? Yes. Sweet potato? How do you make that work?? The potato is so sweet and the avocado is so... avocado! Question-o two: Tapatio. Is that some magic whole food soy-free soy sauce for stir fry? And where can I find it? I can do cauliflower as rice... but veggies aren't the same without being loaded down with either super soy or pea-nutty sauce...
  8. Portable hot bath while camping? Yes, please! Ha, that's just amazing! Also, did I read that right? Mt. Fuji!? That is also AMAZING! I've never climbed a mountain. In fact, where I live we don't even have hills... Mega kudos to you on the adventures! And may you find yourself having many many more!
  9. I just heard about your husband from your post over at the CutLasses. Just wanted to let you know you're in my prayers and I hope his recovery is swift.
  10. Oh! Also, new avatar? Blue looks good on you!
  11. I love this goal! It's easy to forget how much FUN they are! If you get to have any mini-adventures with them I'd like to hear the stories! Do you ever have a handful of nuts to boost your calories? Just a few adds quite a bit to your count for the day.
  12. Yeah! I love turtles!!! Here go the updates: Still praising God that He keeps meeting me in the mornings through prayer. It is encouraging to me and also gives me time to pray for my family.Off day for the sledgehammer today, but I did thirty minutes of a Pilates style workout they have at my son's karate studio before his lesson, then cranked out a quick 10 minute leg workout at home involving squats, jumps, and mountain climbers. It feels good to push myself. Exercise happens to be very good therapy for me.Eating? I'm getting bored with my boring food over and over... but I just flipped through a cookbook to inspire myself and I think I can make a little magic happen this week.Writing in the evenings has helped me stave off negative thoughts as I go to bed. That was actually a pretty big problem for me a while ago and I was having trouble just getting to sleep. There is still a great deal of uncertainty about my future, but the more I study and pray, the more certain I am that my future is safe in His hands.
  13. Yeay for putting huge smiles there! All of you have certainly helped me smile this past week!
  14. Alrighty, ladies! This be me first physical challenge as a member o' this here crew. And I's aimin' to push and pull this here Northern Star clear to the North Star herself a'fore the sun sets on Sunday!
  15. The way that you described Fibromyalgia sounds just terrible. I've heard of it before, but no one has ever given me a realistic perspective on the pain. You have an amazing attitude about where you are right now. It sounds like you're got a great handle on healthy eating and you're working your way back into an active lifestyle! Your goals are all very clear, as is your motivation. You might enjoy reading through some posts from She-Hulk. She has been fighting to get her RA into remission through healthier eating and lots of activity. Different illness, I know, but I have a feeling you two might still understand each other. And... well, she's just plain awesome! Check it out if you get the time. My husband was in the Navy before joining the Marine Corps. I know what you mean about him coming in late and waking you. You can't help but be happy he is home, but you're just sooooo tired... Good luck on your goals!
  16. Oh how I love this forum (and all of you people!) I used to be called "Anda." Then my friends started calling me "Andapan" back in college because of the broom-hippie Marzipan. This guy Nicholas imitated Homestar *perfectly.* Sooooooo... I married him. True story. (Although I married him for more than his Homestar skilz)
  17. Yeay! Hey there, Feowyn! Thanks for sharing the love! Thanks, Elastigirl. I'm going to try to count that day as a wonderful opportunity to learn about myself... and thank God that I'm not the one in charge of stuff down here... So far the bible study is excellent. They kept going back to this Tozer quote I love: "What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.â€
  18. Uuhh... evil plants... always dying on me... or being eaten by something else before I can get to them. The nerve!
  19. The Warrior Dash sounds like so much fun... Are you close with the "merry band" who will be running along side of you, or just your buddy who gave the invite. I think it would be a blast to try one of those with my buddies... just because of all the laughter that would ensue as we threw ourselves into it! I love your motivation. Setting an example for the kiddos is such a big deal and I think it's great that you're stepping up to lead!
  20. Yes! Yes to all of that! Currently I've swapped over to join the CutLasses on their accountabilibuddy adventures, but I still check in on the others from this thread. We had a great group last challenge! Not sure if anyone else is still checking in on things over here...?
