  1. I've been making promises to myself to declutter for AGES. It always seemed like too difficult of a goal, but that's because I was thinking of it in the larger sense. No more of that for me; I'm starting in one room and moving around the house until there's nothing left to get rid of. My husband has no clue what he's signed up for. Heh. Challenge update: 1) Tracking: 3/5 wewt. Even the bagel bites I bought on a whim cause I didn't want to order pizza! 2) Home food prep: 2.5/5. Can't fully say I prepped food at home yesterday since I bought the bagel bites. But - again - better than ordering pizza! 3) Workouts: 1/3. \o/ SUCCESS. Even though the last thing I wanted to do last night was workout. I made myself get in two full circuits before bed. Upside: slept like a baby. 4) Walking: 2/3. Went about four miles yesterday after meeting a friend for coffee. Feeling pretty awesome about the challenge so far. Go me.
  2. So far so good challenge wise: Food/fitness: 1) Tracked both Monday and Tuesday including non-planned foods. 2/5 so far!! 2) Meals prepped at home both Monday and Tuesday. 2/5 so far!! 3) No workouts so far. One planned for tonight. 0/3 4) Two mile walk on Monday. Another planned for lunch today. 1/3. Lifestyle: 1) Decluttering. No progress yet. Game plan in place. 0/1. Fail Goal: Still contemplating this one. Been thinking of signing up for the 5k Silicon Valley Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning with the aim of jogging at least 60% of the course. Eh, still in the works.
  3. Haha, yeah, I guess I went nonspecific but measurable. Primarily, I do bodyweight circuit workouts, with my main purpose being building the strength to do actual pushups and (eventually) pullups, and - in general - getting as fit as possible.
  4. I'm in, though a day late. Goals: Fitness/food: - Workout 3 days/wk building up from three full circuits to four. - Walk 3 times/wk - Track food 5/7 days a week - Prep food at home 5/7 days a week Life: - decluttering Mire details in post to come.
  5. I'm working on building up the strength to do assisted pull-ups which is no simple task. Congrats on your .95 pull-up, you're super close!!
  6. Oooh, I'm with you on the running, but it's something I've always wanted to do. Looks like your goals are taking you in a great direction.
  7. I picked up and read New Rules a while back on a friend's advice. Great book! I'm with m1ke, you're a pullup star.
  8. Sounds like a great plan you have there and gratz in breaking that 200 lb mark. I'm not too far from it myself. Keep up the great work!
  9. Those binge influences are my curse, and - unfortunately - around all the time. I think sometimes I enable my own problems by wanting to treat everyone around me. Good luck!
  10. I'm totally off the rails Saturday and Sunday as well. Seems like work keeps me in the groove, but when left to my own devices I implode. Keep up the great work!
  11. I'm with you on the life leveling goal, although in my case I have a year long plan to get out of credit card debt (finally!!). Sounds like a great challenge.
  12. Count me in. Fellow first timer here reporting for duty. My challenge: http://nerdfitness.com/community/showthread.php?t=5901 Looking forward to hearing about everyone's progress!!
  13. Ever read something, intend to reply that day, then find it's a day (or five) later? Fortunately, I'm just a day off from the start of this challenge which gives me less of an excuse to put off for tomorrow (or six weeks away) what I can do today. With that in mind, and the intent of keeping it simple, my personal challenge was to set six goals to accomplish over the course of six weeks to get my butt back in gear and rolling back along the path to being the best me I can be. Food/Fitness - Track food 5 of 7 days a week. Every bite. - Prepare food at home 5 of 7 days a week. - Three workouts a week. Building from doing three full circuits to four full circuits. - Walk three times a week. Personal: - Start the decluttering process. Get rid of one bag of stuff a week. - Don't use credit card, unless incredible emergency arises. Good luck all!
  14. Thanks for all the welcomes! @faraxk I follow the League of Steam a bit. Have encountered them a few times at Maker's Fair. They are levels of awesomeness above and beyond my interest in steampunk. Comparatively, I'm a dabbler. Heh.
  15. Hi there and welcome from a fellow new recruit. Just had to add a little wewt in here for Rift - love it!!!
  16. Hey all, I'm Zan, another geek girl living in the San Francisco Bay Area. While poking around on Fitocracy a few days ago, I stumbled upon someone talking about an Angry Birds Workout. Curious geek girl that I am, I googled it, and lo and behold found Nerd Fitness. All I can say is wow, this place is for me. My interests, geeky and not, vary wildly: MMOs (I play Star Trek Online and Rift), D&D (2nd Ed and 3.5), Hula Hooping, Throwing Poi, Rockabilly, Renaissance Faire, Steam Punk, burlesque, hiking, walking, singing opera, singing jazz, playing piano, and a million other things. Two years ago, I found myself at nearly three hundred pounds, depressed and no interest in the world. Cut to today, I've dropped close to a hundred pounds, and am working on getting to a healthy weight for the first time in my adult life (still about 60 lbs to go) At some point, over the past couple of years, I realized my focus had changed from primarily caring about losing weight to a desire to become as fit as I possibly can be. With that in mind, I've tried any number of things under the sun to see what it is I really like: zumba, c25k, p90x, chalean, the Firm, and a whole shelf of fitness dvds and programs that keep my interest for ten or so minutes. So, here I am, reporting for duty, and can't wait to read more and hear more from all of you.
