  1. Yesterday, I learned the lesson that candy gives me no pleasure anymore. Also, I feel better in the morning when I net at least 1,000 calories the previous day.

  2. Went in one week (this last week) from 145 to 147 and then down to 142. Right on schedule for my goal.
  3. Thanks, I think I'm doing alright. I'm having trouble with the resting part, though. Decided not to go low-carb and just eat what I need in small portions throughout the day to keep me feeling satisfied.
  4. Got brave and left campus to explore the shops surrounding it. It was fun. :) There was even an arcade! With DDR! Might go back there when I have money to actually play a game.

If you hang around enough, I've found that there are people that don't like to play alone and will pay for you to play with them. Maybe it's just MY experience, but those people exist.

  5. Just 15 pounds to go, now, to get to 130. Then, I see how I feel and go from there. At least now I've got a good BMI. :)

  6. Ate many small meals/snacks throughout the day, all with some protein and fat included. Dinner was 4 oz. poached salmon and sauteed, spiced vegetables in a half tablespoon of canola oil. Small but satifying. 1,080 calories eaten in total and some exercise done through power walking. Planning on going to sleep early to recharge from the deprivation of the week. Today was a good day. :)

  7. I'm probably just panicking again. Going back to my normal diet and trying to be consistant about it.

  8. Okay, I'm going to do it. Starting this weekend, I'm going lower carb and replacing the energy with fats and protein. Maybe if I take it a little at a time and eat more veggies and less grains then I'll not have to feel that sharp spike in my head and the sleepiness when I eat carbs! :D

  9. Ate a bowl of steel-cut oatmeal with made with almond milk, strawberries and blueberries and a scoop of whey protein. Why do I feel tired and a bit hungry?

That's an easily digestible meal, with little fat. Drink some water to fill up.

Ah, I forgot to mention the tablespoon of walnuts (that's 1/2 an ounce)

Also, I drink a ton of water. It helps to get rid of headaches in the morning, or so I think.

  10. I've quit Maintainance Month. Going back to 1411 at "lightly active" and, hopefully, a loss of 1 lb per week. Got scared of gaining weight.

  11. Picking up goal #2 again with renewed purpose born of fear. Wondering if I might have a problem. I'm focusing on my career right now, our.lady.of.ashes. Besides, I have no interest in anything beyond the platonic or the familial, the type of relationships I prefer and feel most comfortable with.
  12. Okay, I'm dropping goal #2. Maintaining in March to reset my metabolism. If I lose, I lose. If I maintain, at least I don't go up and I get healthy. I'm also relaxing on exercise. The stress on my body and mind has shown itself. Considering distracting myself from lingering obsessive thoughts with forms of entertainment, such as the works of Ian Flemming. Haven't ever read anything of his, but I've heard he's good. In other news, Fitbit says I've walked 500 miles. Maybe I'll walk 500 more just to walk 1,000 by this summer to fall down at my door. (Da da da da!)
  13. Okay, I've decided: March Maintenance Month for Metabolism Make-up starts today! :D

  14. Actually committing this time to less exercise to reduce stress and lose wieght. Set myself at sedentary and counting anything extra as exercise.

  15. H-he's not really dead, we just have to find...! No, he's gone, someone else must have his katra. Um, maybe Shatner or Takei...

  16. Okay, perhaps I was going about the low-carb thing the wrong way. Maybe if I did it slowly. I could replace my breaded chicken patties every now and then with boiled chicken tenders.... I'm eating 30-50% carbs and most of them are veggies, fruits and whole wheat 40 calorie Nature's Own bread or 90 calorie whole wheat wraps... I just...love sandwiches...
  17. Might have quinoa intolerance... and I was so excited to enjoy it too...

I find I have to take it in small doses, or I'll be in the bathroom a lot.

  18. Hah, didn't even think about that! LOL! It was just the best way I thought of to describe it at the time. I'm no professional by any means but my friends do say I was really good at singing in Rock Band the few times we played it last year. I was rated better than our friend who also likes to take turns singing, at any rate, and I did pretty good on a song I was only vaguely familiar with (something about an "ultimate showdown" that had sounded fun and I'd heard a few times). His rhythm was off and quite possibly his key, IIRC, TBH, but I wouldn't ever tell him that. I did try to help him by
  19. Hello, there, our.lady.of.ashes! Thanks for the encouragement! Here's a report of how things stand thus far: 1) Tried going low-carb for a day and felt really weak. Still, it got rid of those nasty, painful hunger pangs from when I went too high and I'm going back to a more moderate percentage. I'm not failing practice tests at school again. Also, I'm cutting back on exercise because I'd like some leisure time. I miss playing video games and reading books and not feeling like I have to do some form of intense activity or my whole day is wasted because I was lazy. I'm working on the rest
  20. Pretty much, yes. It means I end up in the middle range of the female voices. I don't have the brightness and agility of a coloratura mezzo nor the power of a dramatic mezzo. Smooth, gentle and steady, me. C6 is a strain on the throat and I can't go as low as E3 which ends up making me sound like I'm moaning breathily rather than singing. Although I have lost weight and my voice has probably changed a little in quality, I doubt the range was much affected.
  21. Unable to contribute due to monetary issues but I can tell you that my vocal fach is, as far as I know, probably still lyric mezzo-soprano. Does that help?
  22. Call me a quitter and a weakling, I cannot go low-carb for even a day. Can't think or exercise right. Not going to stick it out.

I tried low carb diet before, almost starved myself to death. As danica says, do what's best for you. There's so many diets out there, there's bond to be one you can easily do.

Not sure I can, broddah, but thank you for the well-meaning encouragement. I think I just really wanted the excruciatingly painful cravings to stop from when I went too high recently and it worked but then I failed a practice test twice and I feel exhausted. I normally feel good on a moderate-carb plan, like danica and kaelvan suggest.

You can still do it!! We are all unique, what works for one may not work at all for another. Stay positive and trust in the trial and error process, it takes time~ <3

  23. My Fourth Challenge: 1) Continue Tracking for a whole year on MFP, making sure to get proper nutrition, eating enough and figuring out what is best for me as I may be more insulin/carb sensitive than previously thought. Also, continue tracking exercise with Fitbit. 2) Lose that last 16 pounds by this summer, with 6 pounds for this challenge. 3) Continue keeping up with friends 4) Pass Garde Manger (Cold Foods) and graduate to Bakeshop 5) Put together new cosplay outfit. 6) Take care of ears, which tend to get clogged from time to time, eyes, which need to be examined, and right kne
