  1. ::happy dance:: I waaas riiiight, I waas riiight~! I've maintained my weight this week so I'm still losing 1 pound a week! Yay!

  2. "Go slow", he says. But how do I know what is too slow or too fast? I'll just keep exercising the ammount I am and focus on nutrition. I'm sure that once I get the weight off getting fit on maintenance would be easier.

  3. 1.1 lbs a week minimum. That's the rate I have to lose by to meet my weight loss goal. Sounds reasonable. :)

    1. danica

      danica

      Completely reasonable!

  4. Actually committing this time to less exercise to reduce stress and lose wieght. Set myself at sedentary and counting anything extra as exercise.

  5. And now I've walked 17,000 steps. Maybe I'm getting better at this?

How much of that was DDR? :)

  6. Ate a bowl of steel-cut oatmeal with made with almond milk, strawberries and blueberries and a scoop of whey protein. Why do I feel tired and a bit hungry?

That's an easily digestible meal, with little fat. Drink some water to fill up.

Ah, I forgot to mention the tablespoon of walnuts (that's 1/2 an ounce)

Also, I drink a ton of water. It helps to get rid of headaches in the morning, or so I think.

  7. Ate many small meals/snacks throughout the day, all with some protein and fat included. Dinner was 4 oz. poached salmon and sauteed, spiced vegetables in a half tablespoon of canola oil. Small but satifying. 1,080 calories eaten in total and some exercise done through power walking. Planning on going to sleep early to recharge from the deprivation of the week. Today was a good day. :)

  8. Ate under my calorie goal yesterday because I ate light earlier, saving my appetite for dinner with friends. Doing the same today. Missing my regular, mostly evenly distributed, meals but it's worth it to stick to my diet while still having fun over the weekend without worry that I've gone over.

Good attitude and strategy for special days! :]

Yup, I usually do the same :) It works!

  9. Boiling and soaking steel cut oats overnight really does cut cooking time in half! :D

if you have a small slowcooker, you can cook them overnight: http://www.bobsredmill.com/recipes.php?recipe=1795

I will have to try that.

  10. Call me a quitter and a weakling, I cannot go low-carb for even a day. Can't think or exercise right. Not going to stick it out.

I tried low carb diet before, almost starved myself to death. As danica says, do what's best for you. There's so many diets out there, there's bond to be one you can easily do.

Not sure I can, broddah, but thank you for the well-meaning encouragement. I think I just really wanted the excruciatingly painful cravings to stop from when I went too high recently and it worked but then I failed a practice test twice and I feel exhausted. I normally feel good on a moderate-carb plan, like danica and kaelvan suggest.

You can still do it!! We are all unique, what works for one may not work at all for another. Stay positive and trust in the trial and error process, it takes time~ <3

  11. Caught some kind of stomach bug yeaterday. Now I feel guilty for not being able to will myself into exercising today like I do every day.

Actually got to walk around a bit today. Overdid it a bit but I feel better after resting.

Right back at you with the not overdoing it ;) clear liquids, then rice or crackers, then food. Stomach bugs are the TOTAL WORST.

  12. Cold hands, irregularities in the system, lack of energy...Grr! Fine! I get it! Eating 1,000-1200 calories with unaccounted-for exercise is not enough! I'll set my level higher! Stupid thing...Heh, stupid me too. :)

  13. Did wonderfully today! I love salmon!

  14. Everyone talks about trusting the process and taking things step by step. That is the exact thing I need to work on the most, I think.

  15. Everyone with a Fitbit, join fitforfood! It starts today! :D Let's all help people together!

  16. Gained two pounds but with my high sodium intake, my physical condition, and my increased exercise, I'm chalking it up to water weight. Also, met my minimum goals of the day even though I felt depressed and self-loathing to try to make myself feel accomplished. Thank you, Fitbit!

And I under-ate by 145 calories excluding exercise.

Thanks for the hugs, Jim. I'm just...not used to a cuddly criminal mastermind. I'll learn better, I'm sure.

  17. Got brave and left campus to explore the shops surrounding it. It was fun. :) There was even an arcade! With DDR! Might go back there when I have money to actually play a game.

If you hang around enough, I've found that there are people that don't like to play alone and will pay for you to play with them. Maybe it's just MY experience, but those people exist.

  18. H-he's not really dead, we just have to find...! No, he's gone, someone else must have his katra. Um, maybe Shatner or Takei...

  19. Had a slightly bigger dinner than I would have but still enough to lose weight. Having tea for a snack because I feel like it more than I do cereal and milk, as I was going to have before, and I got nervous about eating too much of my exercise calories. Only went over regular calories by 32.

  20. Hey, if anyone wants, I'm SteppinonDeArrows on MFP. People on MFP can check out my profile. We can even become friends and get healthier together. Friends get to look at my food diary/journal thing and see what I'm having.

  21. I guess...my body was trying to make up for lack of nutrients and calories by making me eat more? I did do a lot on a little yesterday. At least I chose one of the healthier options on the menu, if not the healthiest which it probably wasn't. Considering my choices today, I guess I did a sort of modified Paleo, maybe.

    1. Steppinon D'Arrows

Nonfat vanilla Greek yogurt! Why didn't I think of it before? Protein and some carbs without fats! I should have been eating it all along!

  22. I think MFP is going to be good for me. I experimented and logged a second day as less than 1,000 calories and a message came up saying I should eat more. I actually had, but I just wanted to see what would happen.

  23. I'm "lightly active" now! Yay!

  24. I'm back on my diet! I did well today! :D I also just ordered "My Weight Loss Coach" for the Nintendo DS from ebay. Cheaper, and probably more fun, than fitbit and with more features than a regular Wal-Mart pedometer for the same price.

  25. I'm going to have to eat a huge dinner if I want to go to that weights/cardio class. I'm exhausted already...
