  1. Reached all my goals today sans 30 active minutes. With all I did today, I'm just glad I got done what I did.

  2. Ooh! Get the double/ultra spice kind! It's the best! I got some on sale at Ross and it was delicious!

  4. ::happy dance:: I waaas riiiight, I waas riiight~! I've maintained my weight this week so I'm still losing 1 pound a week! Yay!

  5. You have your priorities straight, Gersimi! I encourage your efforts!
  6. Don't let it stop you, kaelvan! I didn't, and I did fairly well. I'm sure you would be awesome. Just remember that you don't have to be exactly like a character to cosplay as them. That's what wigs and acting are for.
  7. Gained two pounds but with my high sodium intake, my physical condition, and my increased exercise, I'm chalking it up to water weight. Also, met my minimum goals of the day even though I felt depressed and self-loathing to try to make myself feel accomplished. Thank you, Fitbit!

And I under-ate by 145 calories excluding exercise.

Thanks for the hugs, Jim. I'm just...not used to a cuddly criminal mastermind. I'll learn better, I'm sure.

  8. Miscalculated on a recipe. Hoping the exercise I did made up for going 266 over my 1300 calorie limit. Fitbit counts steps, after all, but not that I was wearing a heavy backpack full of books for about half of my walking.

Understand that none of this matters from day to day but over the course of months and years. Also understand that trying to justify a slip easily leads down a slippery slope. If you screw up then admit that you did, suffer a little more tomorrow, and move along.

^^^ This. 266 calories don't matter in the scheme of things. What matters is that you noticed :)

^^^^ Agreed. Seriously, I fell off the bandwagon a bit yesterday (and by a bit I mean I had a huge soba noodle soup with fake crab and a lot of frozen yogurt). Just gonna get right back on it and get back into my healthier habits.

  9. Had a slightly bigger dinner than I would have but still enough to lose weight. Having tea for a snack because I feel like it more than I do cereal and milk, as I was going to have before, and I got nervous about eating too much of my exercise calories. Only went over regular calories by 32.

  10. When MFP tells you you have -86 net calories and you're feeling run down, it's time to give yourself permission to eat whatever you want.

Go head. Just realize that results are in direct proportion to how much you suffer.

@El Exorcisto, what's that supposed to mean? I'm seriously confused. @Tezra, I'll have fun within reason. :)

  11. Going out with my friends tonight, if all goes well. I'm also going to see if I can weigh myself on Saturday. Saturdays seem to work out well for me. I've been keeping to my diet fairly well and exercising consistently, even if I have only been playing DDR and weightlifting very infrequently. I like walking and sometimes sprinting. It's working for me.
  12. It's not worth it. I'm just going to eat normally and have a conservative meal when I'm out with my friends. I won't go hungry just to have the reassurance because I always undereat and not feel good after.

FINALly! I haven't said anything because there's stuff you can't HEAR, we must go through to learn. But no, you can't go on 1,200 cals a day.

Eating is good, eating is fun, and it might take you a little longer to lose all the weight you think you want, but every kilo is a success. The goal is to learn to eat better, no to go famished.

Sounds like you're having some learns! 1200 is bananas unless you're incredibly petite or totally sedentary. Eat food to fuel your body and workouts. The rest will fall into place.

Have you calculated your BMR? It's kinda not good to go under that.

  13. Who loves spicy tea? I love spicy tea! Is it true? Mm-hm! I do, I do, I do-ooo~!

Oh man flash back! I love spicy tea too...hmmm teeeeaaaa...

Spicy tea is SO GOOD! I sipped on a blackberry oolong earlier that was quite floral. Very nice.

  14. Just donated 500 higi points that I don't really use to an animal charity. Felt kind of good. At least all those steps aren't going to waste.

  15. Increased potassium based on MFP's tracking my intake and seeing it lacking. I think it's helping. :).

  16. I need to remember to do more weightlifting. I haven't been keeping up and now I feel like a total weakling.
  17. Good choice! You went with the one that works for you! (That's what's most important.)
  18. Awesome! Giving and getting support is always good in diets! The thing I like about Paleo, though I don't follow it myself, is that it cuts out legumes. I'm allergic to legumes and if I ever had to, for some reason, follow a Paleo diet, I would never miss the option. I love pasta, and sandwiches with bread, though. And a miniscule amount of processed foods appeal to me too much. That may change in the future, but I'll just eat a fairly healthy diet for now.
  19. A good pedometer or activity tracker can be a great motivator for someone training for a run or walk. My Fitbit gives me "badges" for my achievements whenever I meet a goal and you can set your own daily goals for just about everything. For example, I like to do at least 12,000 steps a day, which is about 5 miles and I recently increased my daily stairs goal to 15. The most I've walked this year in one day is over 23,000 steps, the most flights of stairs I've climbed up in one day is 52, the latter done just for the badge and the former on a walk while out with some friends after a good day of running about at culinary school. If you just want a simple pedometer, the Fitbit Zip will give you that and it's a little tiny bit more accurate than the One. However, if tracking steps climbed is important and motivating, than the One would be for you. There's also a bunch of others with more features but they're all wrist bands. Of course, there are other activity trackers from other companies such as Jawbone, Garmin and Misfit that would also work with MyFitnessPal. Just make sure to take into account not only your requirements in features tracked but also the technology it works with and what's included in the package. One of the other reasons I chose the Fitbit One is that it, like the other Fitbits, worked with my Windows computer and came with the thing to sync it. Another reason was that I didn't have to replace a battery like with the Zip. I just charge it while I'm at the computer doing nothing or while I'm in the shower (as it lasts for about 4 days or so but I don't want to have to worry about it losing power ever and it's more convenient that way). Ultimately, you have to find the one that works for you and has the form and functions you like best. Do your research and you can't go wrong. If you have any questions about the fitness trackers, you can always ask me as well and I'll help you the best I can.
  20. Going to have to step it up! Since I dropped a few more pounds, I'm burning less calories than I used to on stuff. 148 lbs. and shrinking! I'm going to be slimmer for that convention coming up!
  21. Ate under my calorie goal yesterday because I ate light earlier, saving my appetite for dinner with friends. Doing the same today. Missing my regular, mostly evenly distributed, meals but it's worth it to stick to my diet while still having fun over the weekend without worry that I've gone over.

Yup, I usually do the same :) It works!

  22. Too poor to buy a new phone, but thank you for the offer. I'll bump this with my post so that someone who needs this can see it better. I wish I could have accepted it.
  23. 5'4", 151 lbs here, eating 1000 to a little over 1300 max, lightly active and not eating back exercise calories trying to lose 1 lb. a week. I don't eat too much chocolate but every now and then I get cravings for baked goods like cake, muffins, donuts, bagels, rolls of every kind. My PMS typically, however, comes in the form of clumsiness, decreased energy, heightened sensitivity to my environment/atmosphere, irritability and fatigue. Sometimes hunger is increased but I always chalk it, and my fatigue, up to lack of iron or something, like it's missing and I'm trying to find it through food. Make sure you're getting enough nutrients, especially during that time of the month.
