  1. And now I've walked 17,000 steps. Maybe I'm getting better at this?

How much of that was DDR? :)

  2. 1000-1200 sounds...No, wait, that's my diet (5'4" female trying to lose weight), sorry. Anyway, what article is this? Who are you taking advice from?
  3. Yep. I didn't manage to walk 15000 yesterday but 13,000 and something is good enough. Perhaps 12,000 might be a good Middle Earth, um, middle ground, for me between 15,000 and 10,000. Speaking of, yeah, I'm definitely going there and back again. I did manage to do some weight training but I think I overdid it because I wasn't feeling well enough to finish the entire class. Still, one of my classes that I do when I feel like, gives me over 5-10 minutes of weight training. I just need to remember to do it when I'm not in weights+aerobics class. I've been sticking to my diet fairly well. Haven't cheated, really. What made you stop playing DDR?
  4. Yay! I got a friend on Fitbit!

  5. School started today. Turned in my report. I'm sure it wasn't A+ material, but I'm glad I tuned in something and now it's over. In other news, I walked/jogged/DDR'd 15,000 steps today and plan to do so again tomorrow. And burgundy is my new favorite color. I'm thinking of making a battle log for my walk to Mordor, and possibly back again.
  6. Yes! I've walked over 10,000 steps today, 10 minutes of them included DDR but most were from walking around shopping! I'm on my way to Mordor!
  7. Thanks for the encouragement, AresPandora! I've just started on my journey to Mordor, so I'm early to the party. Not keeping up with weight training very well thrus far, but I'm okay for now. School won't start until the fifth and that's when it all begins, isn't it? As for my friends, it seems there's always one who I keep meaning to write to but forget. I should write to her now. I can't wait to start on my first Adventurer challenge!
  8. So far so good with Fitbit One, once I calibrated it. I'm sort of disappointed to find there is no Nerd Fitness Fitbit group but I really don't want to be the leader. I joined other ones, though. :)

I know a few of us have just friended each other on FitBit. My user name is hurley8604 over there as well.

My profile can be found in my signature. :) I don't have Facebook.

  9. Log rolls downstairs, alone or in pairs, rolls over your neighbor's dog. Can scrape it for snack, it fits on your back, it's log, log, log! Sorry, got caught up in childhood memories there for a second. You did great with all that stuff! Looking forward to progress in the new year, yes?
  10. Planned to get a simple pedometer but ended up splurging on a Fitbit One in burgundy. I'm going to try it now, hoping this is going to be worth the credit card debt. Anyway, I'm going to walk to Mordor, finally!

Ooh, let us know how the Fitbit goes. I've been thinking of the splurge for awhile now myself.

  11. Hello Adventurers! I'm posting this topic early because I was late the last two challenges. Alright, here we go! 1) Get down to a healthy weight and finish school by summer. I'm hoping for 130 lbs. by June 1st. and I'm keeping track through MyFitnessPal. A friend of mine and I are both trying to lose weight together and I've lost a pound already, though it could have just been water weight. As for school, I want to complete the culinary program this year and decide whether I want to continue into the baking and pastry class. 2) Keep up with exercise. At least 30 minutes of DDR and a few minutes of weight lifting five days a week. I want to be strong for my dream job. I also want to get a really good pedometer or activity monitor and make sure I'm doing well. Maybe I'll walk to Mordor 3) Keep in touch with friends. I tend to lose track of time and friends when they and I get busy. I'm also not that social by nature. I do care about my friends, though, and want to keep them and keep in touch with them. 4) Try a challenge. I'm going to look at the Adventurer challenges and take one to try. Wish me good luck in starting the year off right!
  12. Hey, if anyone wants, I'm SteppinonDeArrows on MFP. People on MFP can check out my profile. We can even become friends and get healthier together. Friends get to look at my food diary/journal thing and see what I'm having.

  13. 1.1 lbs a week minimum. That's the rate I have to lose by to meet my weight loss goal. Sounds reasonable. :)

      Completely reasonable!

  14. I think MFP is going to be good for me. I experimented and logged a second day as less than 1,000 calories and a message came up saying I should eat more. I actually had, but I just wanted to see what would happen.

  15. Glad to hear it, Heidi! It makes me feel good inside to know I put a smile on someone's face, even if they're far away. Oh, Machete! I didn't think of that one! Excellent find with those lyrics!
  16. Switched from CRON-O-meter to MFP. Hoping it's better for me.

I went the opposite way. Still, I find that using more than one helps with accuracy more.

Yeah, but maybe it's better for me to get away from the numbers. I have a tendency to get obsessive about it and freak out if I'm not doing it right.

  17. Sorry, I'll be too busy beating myself up to help someone else not beating themselves up. I'm a little selfish in that regard, I suppose. Good luck anyway! I keep track of my dailies in HabitRPG! Much more fun with a lot less "Haha, you n00b! L2P!" You might want to take a look at it.
  18. Did you fall down at our door at the 1,000 mile mark? (Congrats, Heidi!!)
