  1. Great job! I would definitely count all that walking. Exercise is exercise, whether intentional or not! Again, great job. Looks like you're locked in!
  2. Alright, day 4 started with a vanilla protein shake, and a trip to the gym. While warming up on the stair climber, I nervously eyeballed the free weights. Those guys over there are in so much better shape than I am. But, dripping with sweat from cardio, I gathered the nerves to head over there. Turns out, its not as scary as I thought. So, for the first time, I used free weights for my workout. Well, weights may be an exaggeration. I used the freeweight bar for my workout. Baby steps, right? So, here goes my workout today: 10 minutes on stair stepper Squats: 5 sets/10 reps/Bar only Overhead Press: 5 sets/10 reps/Bar only Barbell row: 5 sets/10 reps/Bar only Deadlift: 5 sets/10 reps/Bar only 20 pushups 30 Second Plank Followed that up with another protein shake. Now, real world issues: Maintenance guy is here right now. Kitchen Sink/Dishwasher won't drain. Not sure why. Tried plunger, drano, and snake...nothing. I hate plumbing... On the plus side, my new Alienware should be here today, along with my new luggage set. Since I'm gonna be racking up frequent flyer miles, figured it was time to invest in good luggage.
  3. Wow...you are such an inspiration. My biggest issue has been a sever case of lazy. Subbing to follow your progress!! Keep up the great work!!
  4. First week is going great! I hope everyone is as stoked as I am!! Maybe I should switch to decaf....
  5. That is a plus!! Anyone else use MFP? Its trying to tell me that I should only be eating 1500 calories/day. Everything else I've seen says 2000-2200. Does MFP seriously underestimate the necessary intake, or am I missing something?
  6. I think I'm in love. Chicken Vindaloo for lunch... Just the right amount of heat and sweetness...
  7. Nice start to the challenge! Keep up the good work!
  8. Breakfast was surprisingly easy to choose from. Two scrambled eggs (no kale at this hole-in-the-wall diner), two slices of bacon, and roasted sweet potatoes. Very tasty, and cooked to order. Trying not to eat out so much, but this is at least somewhere I know the food to be good. Works is DRAGGING today. i think it might be because I have a new gaming rig coming tomorrow, and I just want tomorrow to be here already. Plus, well, Destiny is waiting in my xbox.... Good thing I got the walk in this morning
  9. This pretty much sums me up as well... Thank you for posting the video. It looks AWESOME. I think my evening workout may consist of yoga for the first time in, well, ever. From one newbie to another, if you ever need an accountabilibuddy (or assassibilibuddy if you choose assassins), just give me a shout. I find I need all the help I can get, and am always willing to lend support or a kick in the rear, whichever is needed.
  10. Whatever it is that's gonna eat up your time, I hope its not something bad. Good luck, T2SC. We all understand...IRL happens to us all!
  11. Just found this thread and subbing. Your challenge is awesome! And, music trivia doesn't hurt
  12. I have to say, I'm a little disappointed that one of the hockey ninjas isn't throwing "metal horns"...
  13. Grats on the apartment! And way to stay strong with the external pressures on you! If you ever needs an accountabilibuddy, let me know. I'm always around (YAY desk jobs!!)
  14. If you hear expletives being shouted from the midwest, that might be me...sorry.

    1. Shello

I was wondering what that was..

Learnt a new English word today, THANK YOU! Never came across "expletive" before, but totally going to use it in the future ^_^

  15. Great job getting to the gym today!! Progress is progress. You may have had a "bad" food day, but that just means you will do better today, right? Keep up the momentum!! Also, grats on the class at Amherst.
  16. Great goals! My sister was an ortho-trauma OR nurse at a level 1 trauma center for a few years, and it played havoc on her eating habits. Good luck! I'll be here to cheer you on!!
  17. Yeah, its definitely the disappointment of it all. She's my soulmate, so this isn't going to change things between us, just disappointed that its going to be longer before she moves home. On the plus side, though, I've spent so much time being excited about NF, that she joined yesterday, so we should be seeing her in the challenge in the next day or so. Well, as day 4 commences, I've done a brisk 30 minute walk around the subdivision (autumn is here, its chilly out there) and have had my smoothie for the day. Meeting some friends for breakfast, and I have no idea what they are going to have that's reasonably healthy, so it may just be scrambled eggs this morning... I'll catch up with everyone from the office.
  18. Well, the s*** happens part of my challenge has happened. I'm in a long distance relationship, and we were hoping she might be moving here in March. Now it looks like it might be another year or two. This has put a damper on my mood tonight, and I really don't feel like eating healthy. That said, I still did. But I REALLY want ice cream...
  19. Looks like you are off to a fantastic start to the challenge! Keep it up!!
  20. All very good goals! Good luck on your challenge, and I'll be here to cheer you on! I'm a Yoga neophyte. What's the difference between Tibetan Yoga and run of the mill Yoga?
  21. All very good goals! Quitting smoking is one of the hardest things I've ever done, but it can be done. YOU GOT THIS!!
  22. Solid goals! Looks like you have a nice start to your challenge! Subbing to follow your exploits!
  23. You're crushing it! Subbed to cheer you on! Keep it up!
  24. Hello everyone. Still a n00b, but working to change that. Lullaby linked me this thread in my challenge thread, and I like what I see. Hope to be joining you all once the next challenge starts!!
  25. Ciara, I just read your entire post, and I know its been said quite a bit, but if something in your life is so negative its making you miss the positives, get rid of it. This project sounds toxic, and the people involved sound toxic. For your own sanity, get out of there, and don't look back. If you think they will beg you to come back, after you send the email, set a rule in your email app to send their responses straight to trash. You don't need people dragging you down while you're trying to better yourself. There's too many good people out there to let the bad ones dictate your life.
