  1. for me it was B ... body looked no different at all after 12 weeks but my lifts all ground to a halt
  2. Well, women normally store fat in the thighs, hips and the booby area .... and generally speaking its the fat that gives ladies the curvacious look. Strip that fat down and build muscle on the shoulders, and arms so you get good deltoid, bicep / tricep definition. Work on the quads and hamstrings ... and you will be rocking a pretty formidable body thats more angles than curves. However. you are, what you are and look like how you look, and without surgery, that isnt going to change, so if you have a feminine looking body, by losing the Fat and building muscle, yo will have a feminine chisel cut hard body .... eat chips and cake and you will have a feminine curvacious body. But ultimately, loose the fat, build muscle and you will become athletic looking ...... google, athletic women pics for an idea. OR ... check out Stacis pics ... she started off with a very feminine curved body .... and now, she still has a femine body as you would expect ... buts it looks like it been carved out of rock
  3. in one week you wont know weight loss is a factor of bowel contents, glycogen stores, water, fat and muscle ... glycogen and water being the most variable and capable of changing your weight easily 2kg overnight. you need to weigh yourself over a long period of time and look at the trend to tell if that weightloss is permanent. ..... personally I used to log my weight every day in the morning 1st thing ... I could tell the nights where I ate too much salt, or excess carbs but over time, you can see the cyclic peaks of being 2.5kg heavier on a monday than on a friday and the weight slowely dropping. Also the measuring tape will help ... although you need about a month for it to notice on the tape I found edit: Congrats on it going down though after starting to workout ... thats positive, normally when I start to workout / new routine, my muscles store a good 2-4kg of glycogen extra for a couple of weeks as they get used to it and I seem to put on weight initially ... before it lets go of it again
  4. yes .. but it will take longer than expected and there will be setbacks on the way, like when you blow an entire weekend eating junk food ...... and there will be a weeks that go by where you seemingly get no thinner Basically its a longterm adventure and a life style rather than a short project like decorating a bedroom
  5. I don't think I have ever managed to get a blister there ...... congrats
  6. I would keep an eye on calories .... I could quite quite easily over eat on a paleo lifestyle, bacon, eggs, steak, chicken, avocado, oil .... the calories all add up
  7. at some point you will .... you muscles will continue to get stronger up to a point .... then you just need plain more of them ... how much you go for a bulk in some ways does depend on how fast you grow them muscles ie eat 100kcal a day over mainanence .. muscles take a long long long time to grow but you don't get very fat eat 500kcal over mainanence .. muscles grow painfully slowly and fat grows slowly eat 1000kcal over maintenance .. muscles grow painfully slowly AND you grow fat rather quickly
  8. if you get caught in too many locked threads does Steve come to your house and make you squat until you die ?
  9. yeah .. he yelled at you because you out squat him ... that has to have hurt his ego
  10. I would go with both ... coming back to a workout after time off is noticeably harder I used to workout with sandbags .... switched to iron and SL5x5 .... lifting way more with the iron, so decided to use the sand in the sand bags for my daughters sand pit and could I pick the feckers up ? .... I was knackered moving the bags out in to the garden, where did my strength go ? Like wise with the new diet ... if you are lower on carbs than you used to me your muscles won't have the abundance of energy they used to. I don't know about others, but I lift a LOT better when I am stuffed with bread, chips, potato and everything else I am meant to cut out ... ok so I also get fat when I eat them .. but getting stronger and more muscles also get you more fat. I would give it a couple of weeks to aclimatise to the new workout and let your body get into the swing of things ... if you are still tired look at your diet
  11. good first performance ..... although if it were me, I would have been squatting to parallel whilst playing just to out squat everyone else
  12. I suffer massively from the sneaky unlogged calories. the idea to be 500kcal a day under maintenance is so very easy undone when you go from a scoop of whey to a heaped scoop of whey .. with a few extra nuts as a snack because nuts are good for you and I lifted heavy .... oh and the little cube of extra cheese whilst making the kiddy a cheese sandwich ... and of course the extra 100kcal from not measuring peanut butter or oil.
  13. monitor yourself .... weigh yourself, measure yourself .. if you find you are putting on too much fat and not enough muscle, then revert back to a deficit for a month or so to drop the weight again. The human body is a control system ... you can vary the inputs to keep yourself the same, grow or shrink .. and it needs to me monitored to make sure its not going too far in one direction too quickly
  14. I'd be willing to bet, that counting calories, figuring out macros, or figuring out how many sets of incline press to do after doing flat bench presses, is a damn site loss less complicated than trying to figure out how to live as a hunter gatherer and live like they do. All we "NEED" to do to look like that is eat a decent diet and progressively increase our workouts so our bodies adapt now their life is complicated, they have to live that life style of only eating what they can catch, forced intermittant fasting, manual labour each day. We use our rest time to look buff .... they have to work all day to look buff
  15. So eloquently put Renegade Raincloak. I cant really add much to that advice other than throw in an idiom of "Live and Let live" .... worry about yourself, if they see the change in you and are encouraged by it, then they will come to you. Trying to push someone into doing what you believe is the right thing is the same as knocking on peoples doors and trying to convince them that your imaginary friend is better than their imaginary friend (sorry religious door knockers)
  16. If you are at the pinacle of weight loss and trying to go from 9% to 8% BF ... then it may well help, as you have so little fat you will notice the 1lb difference that it helps you loose over 3 months of taking it BUT for the average joe with a few tires to lose I honestly believe it does nothing .... or nothing noteable anyway .... I have been on the lookout for a magic pill to make me thin for the last year ... and all I have done is thrown money away ... I tried CLA for 12 weeks .... it made no notable difference to my stats what so ever
  17. going on your other posts do I gather you are eating at a calorie deficit in order to loose weight ? This might also be adding to your issues ... there is a possibility that with a restricted diet that you are not recovering quickly enough When I started SL5x5 I progressed quite happily on a deficit .. until a point where the weight was too much for my body to recover ... and even to the point that some of my lifts got worse I had a choice ... eat more - put on fat and muscle and lift more ...... OR accept that SL5x5 wasnt going to go much further with the current diet. I would do what silver bot suggested .... or even change to lighter weights but increase the reps into the 8-12 range
  18. so you want to work out .. but you lack motivation at home .. however you feel guilty for joining a gym when you could be doing it at home. HOWEVER you are NOT doing it at home ... and seeing that you are not doing it, your choice is ......do I risk joining a gym and paying for a membership I might not use. Its a gamble, I say go for it .... you are not working out at the moment in your current environment, so time to try something new ! your motivation sucks though ... so for that lets say you cant trust it, dont rely on it .... some new super cute gym clothes and the promise of a gym lifestyle and ripped abs will motivate you for about a month ...... forget motivation, its a bitch ..... join the gym, Make time for a regular workout spot .. ie 6am or 4pm, go there everyday, force yourself to stick to it, make it a habit. I got up at 5am this morning to run 5km followed by some sprints on the rower .... to be honest it was hard work, I didnt really enjoy this morning and I just wanted to sleep ..... why did I do it ? ..... err, because I walways get up at 5am and workout, its what I do .. habit. !
  19. I tried barbell complexes on monday .... that will hit every muscle group ... and a few you didn't know existed ... and wrap up your cardio in one session as well. Ok, so the reduced weight won't see you hit epic PBs in the "how much can you bench bruh" league of gentlemen ... but i ache today. Thinking of going from SL5x5 to a 4 day week workout of push, pull, legs and complexes
  20. ah .. hello abs, long time no see ... in hindsight dont bulk so quickly or heavily next time !

  21. I am sure the whole tdee and calorie counting thing is wrong as well ... as much as it might work for other people the only time I ever lose weight is if I rock a good 1000kcal below my calculated maintenance ... which leaves me in a permanent state of hunger and grumpiness. now either my calorie counting is way off, MFP is way off or I just need a steeper cut than others .... but on the other hand I also need to eat way more than 500kcal a day above maintenance as well to put on weight .. so there are some benefits .... basically my body likes this weight and fights to stay there Whether I exercise or not has absolutely no relationship to my weight as far as I can tell ..... but it has done a good job of defining my shape and fitness levels
  22. dang .... I must be tasty

    Avocados

there are a billion things you can do with an avocado .... but every time I end up turning it in to guacamole .... I love guacamole .. I cant help myself ... I think it was initially the beer and tortilla chips that got me addicted but then I went to California and discovered what avocados that are picked ripe actually taste like (nothing like the bullet crappy avocados we get in the UK) ... then I was able to drop the beer and tortilla chips and just use a finger to eat it
  24. you would have a worm as a pet .. but not a fish ?
