  1. Hi,

I just noticed we live in the same town.

  2. Yes; I can drive manual. Great idea, to look for cars with 'personality'!

    Fatigue?

I am properly hydrating, but I don't know anything about sodium intake. I do sometimes work out right when I wake up but before breakfast, because I read once that that is when you do PT in the military. I think I often work out more than three hours after eating, but not always. What kind of doctor do I go to for a sports physical?

    Fatigue?

Hey all, Any time I try to do any exercise (ride on my bike, jog, lift, or bodyweight workouts) I get *extremely* fatigued and hot, with shortness of breath and a pounding heart. If I ease up but push through, I pass out/collapse; it doesn't seem to get any better the more I train (although admittedly I haven't given it much time), and seems like it's getting in the way of progress. I get so tired so quickly I don't even really feel tired in my muscles before my heart and lungs have had it. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a solution? Does anyone have a routine or progression with this kind of fatigue in mind?
  5. If you are interested in yoga to prepare you for meditation and compliments a martial arts practice, I highly recommend yin yoga. Although I began my practice in a class, I am currently engaging in solitary practice. Paul Grilley's book is a powerful introduction: Amazon link. Or, if you are very ambitious, and depending on your location, you could pursue their teacher training. http://www.paulgrilley.com/ I have studied yin yoga in conjunction with a kung fu and parkour practice for the past ten years or so, and have found the combination of yin yoga and martial arts to be extraordinarily physically and spiritually powerful for me; maybe it would be for you as well.
  6. Update 1: LOL. I already missed a day. But I am posting today, April 5th! Here's hoping for a 1:30 bedtime tonight...
  7. Scaling it back this round! Super simple: 1. Post on NF every day with progress reports. 2. Practice Yin Yoga 3x/week. 3. Go to sleep at 1:30 every night and wake up at 10:30 every morning. Aaaaaaand that's it. Let's roll out.
  8. I like the liquid myself because I have several vitamins and medications I take daily. So I take my multi, my meds, and then mix up a drink with calcium/magnesium powder, vitamin D, and herbal tinctures. It simplifies it for me; other than that, there isn't any real difference that I know of.
  9. What kind of kung fu pants do you wear? I do parkour in these, and haven't found them to be too baggy or low in the crotch. I am 5'8, 138lbs and wear an XL. But maybe that wouldn't work with your workouts/body type/preferences. http://www.jonieuniforms.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=76
  10. I understand that Calcium and D play nicely together and help with absorption. I am also D-deficient, but if I take a liquid supplement every day that keeps me on the up-and-up.
  11. Hello there. I actually live in Vermont now, but was born and raised in New York City.
  12. Hi! I dropped off the face of Planet NF for the past month or so. It seems like a lot has upgraded since I was here last. I look forward to jumping into the next challenge and giving it another go. How was your last challenge, Minna?
  13. Hey all, Almost a year ago, I moved from New York City to a small town in Vermont. I can (barely) get through my day-to-day errands without a car, but I'll be starting grad school in the fall and need to figure something out. I make just over minimum wage and don't have a lot of money to spare. I trashed my credit in college, and while my score is better since then, it is still bad enough that I won't be able to get a lease or loan for several years, I imagine. Do any of you rebels have any experience getting a car with low income and bad credit? Unfortunately, I don't think my family will be able to help me.
  14. I think I need to do a 'post on the forums every day' challenge next time because I swear it is so hard to get on here. As usual I got crazy derailed (insane head cold with high fever, forced to work a double at work 3pm on a Saturday to 7am that Sunday). But I recovered and have continued my workouts! Money also got out of hand, but food is going good. I think I need to stick with these challenges for the next 2 or 3 rounds until I really get it.
